11:00 pm
you can't take it with you. guys, you are all fantastic. now breaking news, lou dobbs, is next, he's got the candidates now. lou: good evening, everybody, i'm lou dobbs. breaking news tonight. fox business network announcing the republican candidates who will be participating in the next two gop debates to be held next tuesday, november 10th, right here on the fox business network. those debates brought to you by fox business and the "wall street journal." the candidates participating in the first debate, it will be held at 7:00, 7:00 p.m. eastern. are those who received a minimum of 1% support as determined by at least one of the four most recent national polls. the polls are -- the fox news poll, the "wall
11:01 pm
street journal"-nbc news poll. quinnipiac university poll. and the investors business daily poll. let's get to the participants. in the first debate, the candidates will be ranked by their polling. governor chris christie, former governor mike huckabee, governor bobby jindal, former senator rick santorum. those are the four candidates in the first debate. it airs at 7:00 p.m. eastern, right here on the fox business network from milwaukee, wisconsin next tuesday. for the second debate, there will be eight candidates participating. that debate begins at 9:00 p.m. eastern time. it will feature candidates who scored 2.5% or higher based on an average of those four most recent national polls. so those eight candidates are ranked by their polling. donald trump, dr. ben carson, senator marco rubio, senator ted cruz, governor, former
11:02 pm
governor jeb bush, governor john kasich, following carly fiorina in that lineup, and then rounding it out, senator rand paul. those are the eight candidates who will be appearing in the second debate here on the fox business network from milwaukee. the debate begins again at 9:00 p.m. eastern time. and i've just tweeted all of this out on lou dobbs news so can you share and retweet it, and it's on our facebook page as well. "lou dobbs tonight." joining us former reagan political director, fox news political analyst, ed rollins, good to see you. what do you think? that's spectacular. >> it is spectacular, and the second tier poll had interesting people, and they may have a better chance of getting attention, and i think that obviously is narrowing it to eight on the big stage will be a much better debate. these debates have driven this all the way, and to a certain
11:03 pm
extent, a fair way of doing it. it's going to be much better entertainment. lou: and i should point out all four polls were conducted over the period from the end of the last debate, the third debate, until now, and culminating with the most recent poll. but first, 1% in at least one poll. that's pretty generous, it seems to me at least. >> it's generous, and as i said, the polls have driven the race. they're out campaigning, but it will have an impact on raising money, some of those haven't raised money and it's going to be hard to make a campaign. but someone like mike huckabee is a great debater, he has to be the star on the stage with other good debaters. this will be a much better show. the eight on the big stage, obviously, certainly have more room and space to perform.
11:04 pm
trump is back on top, back to be center stage again, and see how that goes. lou: you know, that's one of the great things about the debates, there's something new each and every time, you couldn't write the scripts. >> you could not write the scripts. >> and we know that next tuesday will be no different. the standards. 2.5% to be in the second debate. your thoughts about that as the benchmark? >> i think if you don't have -- if you have anything less than that, you're not viable at this time. you don't have money. you keep moving on. pretty soon at this point in time, close to the iowa, 90 days away. if you're not putting support together, not raising money, you're not being a viable candidate, you're not going to make it. to those who have a shot at it, this is good forum to move forward. lou: i want to take a second to take note that my colleagues, sandra smith and trish regan
11:05 pm
will be moderating the first debate and neil cavuto and maria bartiromo the second. 7:00 for the first, 9:00 eastern time for the second debate. as we look at the polling that's going on right now, there's an issue as to which of these candidates is on top one moment to the next, if you look at the real clear politics average, it's an extraordinary tight race between dr. ben carson and donald trump. how much conviction do you believe is out there for the candidates at this early stage. we are 90 days away from iowa. >> they held for a while. not like they're going to go away automatically. some may evaporate, people have made decisions on trump and carson. lou: you think so? >> i think they have. if they faulter and don't do well in the debate, something may change it. these two guys are serious candidates when you get into iowa and new hampshire.
11:06 pm
lou: as we look at polls, are those polls, there are quite a number of polls. those are the most well-regarded polls, put it that way, and the most reliable. do you agree with that? >> i do, and they're current, post the last debate, and to a certain extent, as fair a way as can you do it, you had to narrow the field. several people in the race have been eliminated in the debate stage that probably shouldn't be there, so i think this is a very strong field, and it may move around a little bit before we get on iowa and new hampshire. lou: interesting to see fiorina in this poll. she gained her strength in the first debate, and she has since making that, well, that solid, you can, depending who you're talking to solid absolutely terrific performance, she has been a contender and moved up in the polls?
11:07 pm
>> she has, and again, the candidates that for the second debate are pretty darn good candidates and have a great resume and may have more time to push issues, and someone may sit there and say, i kind of like that person. let me take a second look at them. that's a good thing. lou: yeah, the republicans this year are putting their wares forward for the voters. >> not only that. the base is more important and this will be more important because it's the first one really done in a concise, effective way. lou: all right. so there's the lineup, the debate is next tuesday, november 10th. we want to remind you to tune into the debate to begin at 7:00 p.m. eastern, the second debate at 9:00 p.m. again, hosted by maria bartiromo, neil cavuto, sandra smith and trish regan. live from milwaukee, wisconsin. by the way, we're going to be there too, and we're going to
11:08 pm
get a run at it and start monday evening from milwaukee. please be with us. some of the other stories we're covering tonight, shocking new video from pro-immigration group showing foul mouthed kids shouting obscenities and vulgarities at donald trump. >> this is my home. >> you can't take my rights away. >> if you like our constitution and what it stands for, get the [ bleep ] out of my country. >> there's the door! >> we take up the dirty tactics employed, we'll be talking with former senator rick santorum tonight. and ash carter sending a strong signal to china aboard a u.s. aircraft carrier in the south china sea. talking as well to the president of defense of democracies clifford may, and director quentin tarantino

doubling down on anti-law enforcement comments and refusing to apologize and playing every bit the role of victim. radio talk show host chris plante and political analyst ashley pratt among our guests. and reports of iranian aggression in the united states, this time in cyberspace. the "wall street journal" reporting that iran's revolutionary guard carried out a wave of cyberattacks on e-mail and social media accounts of the obama administration officials over the past few weeks. those attacks are believed to be connected to the arrest of an iranian american businessman who pushed for stronger ties between the united states and iran. and new reports that the pentagon farmed out some of its coding to russian computer programmers. according to the daily beast, two contractors hired the russian for a third of the pay americans would have received.

both firms opening the de-- denying the accusations but agreeing to pay $13,000 in penalties without acknowledging their guilt. well, president obama moments ago weighed in on the russian aircraft downing over the sinai. the president telling a cbs radio affiliate that a bomb may have downed that jetliner. >> i think there is a possibility that there was a bomb on board. and we're taking that very seriously. lou: russia and egypt dismissed speculation the suggestion the jetliner was taken down by a terrorist bomb. british prime minister david cameron saying there is, quote, a strong possibility it was a terrorist bomb. france and ireland have joined britain as suspending flights to the egyptian resort city of sharm el-sheikh where the plane went down. all 224 people aboard were killed.

we're coming right back with much more. stay with us. senate leaders refuse to stand up for the american people. senate democrats side with illegal aliens as harry reid blocks kate's law. >> another attack on immigrant community. >> do you stand with violent criminal illegal aliens, or do you stand with american citizens? lou: we'll take up harry reid and the democrats' answers here next. and you may guess what has grounded hundreds of flights and caused travel chaos throughout indonesia. throughout indonesia. at ally bank no branches equals great rates. it's a fact. kind of like playing the boss equals the boss wins.

11:15 pm
. lou: the future of kate's law now faces an uncertain future after senate democratic leader harry reid moved to block the legislation from senator ted cruz. the legislation would create tougher penalties for illegal immigrants who re-enter the country after being deported. cruz and senator reid clashed on the senate floor yesterday. >> this ought to be a clear choice. with whom do you stand? do you stand with violent
11:16 pm
criminal illegal aliens, or do you stand with american citizens? do you stand with our sons and daughters and those at risk of violent crime? >> the new mandatory minimum sentences bill would create -- would have a crippling financial effect. this is yet another attack on the immigrant community. lou: our next guest is a proud supporter of kate's law, and joining us tonight is presidential candidate former u.s. senator rick santorum, and let me begin, senator, by congratulating you on being in the debates and getting ready to take on all of your opponents. >> i'm looking forward to the opportunity to be on the national stage, and i think it will be a lively debate, looking forward to engaging in it. lou: we're looking forward to it, and -- >> actually, lou, the issue you bring up, immigration is one of the issues that i probably
11:17 pm
disagree the most with, the people on that stage. and you know, we put out a very comprehensive plan that talks about limiting the number of both illegal and legal immigrants in this country. returning illegal immigrants back to the home countries. no one has tenant position i have of reducing the number of legal immigrants to make sure american workers aren't hurt with the result of low skilled workers coming into the country, and actually not providing amnesty. everybody else in the republican field has been clear that they're going to allow people here illegally to stay in perpetuity and i'm the only one who stands on the issue. lou: trump says he's going to send people back? >> and says all but the good once. i don't know what that means. it's a little looser translation. lou: yeah, i think what it
11:18 pm
means in terms of the candidates and the primary elections approaching is it's early days. but i want to turn to kate's law and the issue of immigration. illegal immigration in particular. kate's law, for reid to block this, to stand up and block it is one of the most stunning things i've seen, as you know our colleague bill o'reilly has been pushing this issue from the very, the very beginning, you have been supporting it, a handful from the very beginning. but for this to die this way because of the rules of the senate which are being manipulated by an obstinant obstructionist like harry reid is breathtaking. >> remember, 41 colleagues on the democratic side are -- if not every democrat sided with him. if he didn't have the support of the entire democratic caucus and president obama, that bill
11:19 pm
would have passed. it's not just harry reid, not just a tactic. this was an attempt to use the laws and rules of the senate to legitimately block this bill. you can't do it unless have you 41 votes, and he did. you have to look at it this way. the democrats unfortunately have become so wedded to power, and they are attached to certain voter groups, and they're going to do nothing other than try to spike up interest and spike up resentment within the voter groups. that's what they're trying to do here. instead of looking at the best interest of america, and i might add people within the voter groups. make this into a racial issue and try to spike up support within that group. lou: you know, but they've been doing it for so long, and seems the republican party does not have good rejoinders to what is straightforwardly a simple political propaganda, and some clever maneuvering from time to time on the issue.
11:20 pm
let me turn, if i may, to where we are with the republican party. kentucky, rolling back marijuana inflation ohio. have you got to be encouraged by the developments and otherwise across the country. >> we had a good night and some bad. in pennsylvania, not such a good night. the democrats swept everything in our state. it's a mixed bag in these off-year elections, encouraged by kentucky. the polls were off by about 10 points, so i think we need to focus, as you mentioned, we were talking earlier. more on the issues. what the candidate have to bring to the table. i think one of the reasons we're not winning the immigration issue, lou is we're attacking it the wrong way. we need to talk to all workers, people who immigrated legally and people born here, and how it affects them? how it affects the economy of this country?
11:21 pm
that to me is where the republicans are missing. they're target too narrow a focus on this issue. lou: rick santorum, good to have you with us. congratulations and look forward to seeing you in milwaukee. >> thank you very much, lou. lou: as we discussed we announced the participants of the debates that will be held next tuesday on the fox business network, in the 7:00 p.m. debate, governors chris christie, mike huckabee, bobby jindal and senator santorum and in the 9:00 debate, donald trump, ben carson, senator marco rubio, senator ted cruz, senator john kasich, carly fiorina, and senator rand paul. vote in tonight's poll, have you made up your mind which candidate you are most likely to vote for in the presidential elections? we'd like to hear from you, cast your vote at loudobbs.com, and if you will follow me on social media.

11:28 pm
>> holea, donald trump! use offensive words. >> we'll use a few of our own. >> you racist [ bleep ]. >> we're the latino kids born in the usa! >> go trump, you may be high in the polls. >> thanks to [ bleep ], suckers! you're all going to have to come from me. >> if you don't like our constitution and what it stands for, get the [ bleep ] out of my country! >> it's interesting, the number of left-wing sites, left-wing liberal media saying hilarious video. that in and of itself is disgusting in my opinion and reprehensible to use children to spout obscenities and vulgarities against your political opponent or anyone else but it is so stupidly considered because of the exploitation of the children. group behind this video calls
11:29 pm
itself deport racism, a pac registered just since september, and says it's funded by individual donors. there are no public financial reports available, and those donors, their names are not public either, and that's the way they want it, and after watching that, you can understand why. the goal of that pac is to fight, quote, anti-latino and anti-immigrant racism in the 2016 election. the group's leader, a fellow called luke montgomery describes himself as an activist, democratic digital strategist and not surprisingly he is a supporter of hillary clinton. supporting her for president and leading the pack called bill for first lady 2016. but deport racism, taking its anti-trump campaign a step further. offering a $5,000 bounty to anyone who disrupts trump while he hosts "saturday night live"
11:30 pm
this weekend by yelling out deport racism or trump is a racist. that is simply pitiful. so i seldom offer political candidates advice. they seldom ask for it, even less frequently. but let me suggest donald trump should turn the group's plan against him. invite everyone in the audience to shout out deport racism, something every american could get behind and with that trump can announce he's taking his first action to create prosperity. everybody giving everyone a legitimate claim in that audience against the group, for that $5,000 apiece. prosperity is at hand. now our quotation of the evening. this one from my colleague who wrote a whole book titled the joy of hate. gutfeld said --

greg, by the way, will be here on the show tomorrow evening. be with us. and we'll have the breakdown of the next gop debate coming up right here on fox business next tuesday. that's november 10th. we'll have that rundown for you in just moments when we come right back. i promise. >> i have to call the murderers the murderers. lou: cop-hating hollywood shot quentin tarantino isn't apologizing, no. he's decided to play the victim. >> they want to slander me, imply i'm saying things they didn't say. lou: poor baby. we'll take it up with ashley pratt and chris plante here next. some people dream about becoming pilots and flying planes.

others, well, they just dream about flying. we'll at mfs investment management, we believe active management can protect capital long term. active management can tap global insights. active management can take calculated risks. active management can seek to outperform. because active investment management isn't reactive. it's active. that's the power of active management.

11:36 pm
your reaction to the first two debates, the fourth debate coming up tuesday, debates one and two, what do you make of it all? >> i definitely expect this to be fair and balanced unlike the last one we saw. secondly interesting, we see a shake-up, we see the field narrow in the sense now have you 8 people on the main stage and 4 people knocking out lindsey graham too, who i thought in the last debate did very well, and you saw governor mitt romney tweet he had a stellar performance and should have been on the main stage. with chris christie having the performance he did, which cnbc allowed him to have, he's not on the main stage anymore, and seeing more of a shake-up and the position has changed. all of the candidates acknowledge their strengths and weaknesses in the last debate and the cnbc debate let them shine, they had the standout moments. lou: you said something i didn't hear, i didn't hear anybody up there acknowledge
11:37 pm
weaknesses, i did hear a lot of strengths. >> well, i heard a lot of weaknesses after the fact, i think. lou: i think that's probably right. chris, the structure of the debate, the first debate of the evening at 7:00, the second at 9:00, four in the first and eight in the second. it looks like, it looks like he has the potential to be, i think, the best debate of the series. >> well, i think chances are pretty good, and the pickens have been slim so far quite honestly. it looks more manageable with eight on the main stage with, four at the kids table, chris christie will probably be loud in complaints for the next couple of days, but also i would expect, i would expect it to be a much more serious debate. the moderators are much more serious people, not an ambush special. it will be substantive. actually on the economy instead of all the stuff in the last debate. i've got high expectations.
11:38 pm
>> what was that stuff, ed? your thoughts. >> first debate is substantive people. you have the two winners of the last two iowa caucuses there, huckabee and santorum, both articulate guys. christie is articulate and bobby jindal. this is the establishment candidates, people who thought in the early stages might evolve. i think in the second debate it's interesting, you have trump back front and center and carson but equally as important, everybody is an outsider except for bush and kasich, and they're kind of the establishment candidates. interesting to see the dynamic. lou: it is. i want to turn to that trump web ad by the -- this group, which to me viciously exploit children. ashley, your reaction? >> i mean any time you use xhrn in a manner like that it's despicable. they have a point in the sense that the gop does need to be reaching out to hispanic voters
11:39 pm
-- lou: wait a minute, wait a minute, i can't let that go by, that's not the point of that ad at all. that is an absurdity. >> yes, but they could have taken something like that and made that a reality. they could have had families on there talking. lou: that is reprehensible and every democrat. >> hold on. lou: no, no, you hold on. every democrat ought to apologize for the nonsense. >> i'm saying it was disgusting to use children like that, and the language is more disgusting and the fact that donald trump's comments were vulgar, they had a point. to match that with vulgarity of its own with children is disgusting. the gop needs to reach out to hispanic voters. >> that doesn't have anything to do with it. >> it is violent, reprehensible, despicable, vulgar, and the people behind it have produced another ad a few months ago, i played both ads on my radio show today. it's a form of child abuse, if no laws have been broken,
11:40 pm
perhaps some laws should have been broken, and if this is what we expect from one of our major parties in the united states of america, if this is legitimate political discourse, then we truly are doomed. lou: legitimate or not, it's part of it. >> totally ineffective. the truth of the matter is the controversy surrounding it is going to backfire and the people put it on the air. lou: you think it will drive support for trump? >> i think trump's people will basically be offended by it as anybody would be. lou: god, i hope they don't start the victim stuff. >> trump to be a victim is a hard sell. hard sell. >> ed rollin, thank you, ashley pratte and chris plante, thank you. shocking new video showing a vicious attack. this video from arizona. attack occurred in april at a maximum-security prison in florence, arizona. nearly 30 inmates brutally beating 7 corrections officers armed with stun sguns pepper spray. one officer suffered serious
11:41 pm
head injuries, has not yet returned to work. the inmates involved will be prosecuted for the attack. up next, iranian military hackers targeting their friends in the white house. what's going on? and nato staging a massive military exercise aimed at getting russia's attention. we'll have the story and much more straight ahead. look at that. we'll be right back. at ally bank no branches equals great rates. it's a fact. kind of like mute buttons equal danger. ...that sound good? not being on this phone call sounds good. it's not muted. was that you jason? it was geoffrey! it was jason. it could've been brenda. prge! a manufacturer. well that's why i dug this out for you. it's your grandpappy's hammer

(interrupting) you can't pick it up, can you? go ahead. he can't lift the hammer. it's okay though! you're going to change the world.
11:45 pm
. lou: nato sending a message to vladimir putin, holding the largest military exercise in more than a decade. more than 36,000 nato troops participating in the drills. those drills being held in italy, spain and portugal. the exercise comes as nato secretary-general today warned that russia's military buildup from the baltic sea to the mediterranean could limit the access of the united states and our allies to certain regions. and joining us to discuss that and much more, the past the foundation for the defense of democracies, clifford may. good to have you here. >> thanks, lou. lou: this is, you know, at least it is at the beginning of a cooperative effort by nato in some size, 36,000 people, but
11:46 pm
it's been a long time coming. what does it suggest? >> well, it suggests that nato is trying to demonstrate something to pint. now i think putin is well aware of nato's capabilities, more in question are nato's intentions, and nato's determination, and nato's will, and i think those may be tested by putin. he is clearly thinking about that. the way he would do that if he wanted to is to look at estonia, latvia and lithuania, those are members of nato, those are members of the eu, if he were to invade estonia, would the u.s., would germany send troops to fight it? lou: what do you think? >> his gamble would be nato would fall apart and collapse, that turkey certainly wouldn't and france and germany probably wouldn't either and the u.s. might not have the leadership to push him out of a place like estonia.
11:47 pm
he hasn't tried that yet, that's the contingency, and the u.s. better have a policy and needs to be a good one. europe is in precarious position for a lot of reasons, that could be the thing that pushes it over the line. lou: and turning now to iran and the middle east, they continue to carry out cyberassaults on the white house, for crying out loud. they are demonstrating absolute disdain and a lack of even minor respect for this president and his administration. >> yes, that's absolutely right, and those critical of the -- of this administration, president obama's deal with iran, i think are being proven right. president obama and his supporters said after this deal, iran will want to cooperate with us, we'll have a detente, a rapprochement, on the contrary. we are attacked in other ways such as cyber.
11:48 pm
supreme leader ali khameini is saying here's how i read it, come along as well and making it a worse document, and we're in the process of funding and arming iran which is the leading terrorist sponsor in the world which insists on hegemony in the middle east. lou: congress can't do anything about it, the senate can't do anything about it. this senate is in office for another 14 months, 440 days ewe look impotent in the face of his will, and that of the supreme leader. >> yes, and a great deal of damage has been done and will be done over the months ahead to the united states and to its credibility, certain to the people of syria and iraq. we had literally millions of refugees, 250,000 people killed. next president will have a great deal of repair work to do, i would say. lou: why is the republican
11:49 pm
leadership not focusing on the fact that this president's intervention into libya, its policies toward and often passivity in the face of the president that they insist must go four years ago, they started that insistence. i mean, this administration has this humanitarian disaster absolutely around its neck. >> i think one of the things we need to think about and the next president needs to think about is rebalancing power. lou: there won't be a next president that has to rethink if people in the republican party don't have the guts and the intellect and the will to sit here and hold him accountable! am i wrong? >> no, i don't think you're wrong, but i think you're also orrect that congress needs to constitutionally and historically congress has given up power over the years because congressmen didn't want to take
11:50 pm
