index futures. poised to stop the winning streak. s&p futures just up over two, but the nasdaq looking down about three. cheryl: checking some key commodities for you this morning taking first look at oil, we're at 41.9. we're up 21 cents. we have oil really pulled back a lot more towards the $40 mark. gold higher by a buck 90. nicole: here is look at u.s. dollar. we talk about strong u.s. dollar a theme and continues. green back is stronger against the euro, u.k. pound and japanese yen as well. cheryl: yield on 10-year treasury is 2.3%. that is actually down six basis points. nicole: how about cisco systems, one of the stocks we're certainly watching, dow component. shares tumbling in 5% after extended trading avnet work equipment-maker issued disappointing forecast for the current quarter. cisco citing lower orders due to economic uncertainty.

adjusting profit and revenue for latest quarter did beat expectations. nordstrom plunging 20% after the upscale department store cut profit and sales forecast. third quarter results missed expectations. nordstrom is the latest chain to warn of weak spending by consumers heading into this key holiday season. cheryl: well, speaking of that holiday, retail sector will be in focus this morning. jcpenney is out with the latest earnings before the opening bell. analysts expect the company to post a net loss but not as much of a loss as it reported in same quarter last year. revenue expected to rise slightly for the most recent quarter. we'll see. government will release the retail sales report. expectations they will rise .3 of 1% of september when volatile cost of food and gas are moved increase of .4 of 1% is expected.

looking at asia, under pressure. china particular. shanghai down 1 1/2%. kospi down 1%. cheryl: well, in europe stocks are trading now to the negative. all three major indices are down. ftse 100 in london down 33. cac 40 down. dax was positive literally five minutes ago is now in the red. nicole: mixed bag here at home. u.s. stock index futures. dow nine points to the upside. nasdaq lower by four. we also have builds in oil. that is not good news either. that will weigh on the energy sector. cheryl: the heat is on fantasy sports sites fanduel and draftkings. you may still see their ads all over it. v but they weren't on wcbs-tv in new york for the buffalo bills-new york giants game. giants, jets, sorry. i mike the giants better, sorry. they will not air anyhe sports
