in age from 26 to 60. our thoughts and prayers for the family. cheryl: we went to go out to california live. jeff flock has latest in san bernardino with the latest and overnight developments we need to know about. good morning, jeff. reporter: number of overnight developments, cheryl and nicole. i can tell you as the crime scene remains there behind me there is mounting evidence behind me, and evidence gathered overnight this was not simply a spontaneous response to a work place problem but was in fact a planned terror attack. we have fresh pictures for you this morning of the arsenal that was compiled by the two suspected perpetrators of this crime. it includes as you said a dozen pipe bombs. essentially what authorities refer to as a bomb-making factory. a lot of makings for a lot more bombs as well as literally thousands of rounds of

ammunition. 5,000 or more bullets found in the home as well. in addition we her for the first time last night from the first responder on the scene. that is to is say the first pole officer that made into it building in the dark behind me. he is lieutenant in the san bernardino police department named mike madden. he spoke to the reporters of what he called unspeakable carnage. >> i'll tell you, it was something all they we train for it, something that you're never actually prepared for. it was unspeakable. the carnage that we were seeing. number of people who were injured and unfortunately already dead. and the pure panic on the face of those individuals that were still in need, needing to be safe. reporter: lieutenant madden telling us also that the at first when the police entered, the victims were reticent to

even come to the police. took them a while to convince them, okay, we're on your side. it is okay to come out. eventually they did. as we said mounting evidence this morning that this was a planned terror attack. we should make mention though there was initial report that the perpetrators were wearing gopro cameras. according to police authorities there was no evidence they were wearing gopros but certainly evidence of a lot of other tactical gear they possessed and were wearing. the investigation continues. they said at this point they're not ready to make determination this in fact was terrorist act. cheryl: that gopro news big story overnight. jeff flock, thank you, live out in san bernardino. nicole: president obama paying tribute to shooting victims as he lights up the national christmas tree. >> this is of course the most wonderful time of the year but we would be remiss not to take a

victims really brings it home. i tell you, a lot of fresh developments overnight. one thing hasn't changed. if you look over nye shoulder at inland regional center in the parking lot. those are pictures of vehicles inside that people have not claimed them. we're getting fresh details what happened. between 70 and 80 people were present. they were members of the department department of health who were in training session and transitioning to a christmas party we're told when the shooting broke out. we're told by authorities that between 65 and5 shots were fired by the perpetrators. and of the 21 injured, 18 we are told were county employees. 14 dead, a dozen of those were county health department employees, coworkers. syed farook. you mentioned those guns and search for whoever bought two of the guns, two of them were purchased by mr. farook apparently.
