>> lori: let's have a look at the markets, u.s. stock market futures are a little lower. not terrible. we have seen the futures at worse levels. this is a good sign as we saw buying all day to leave stocks in the green, rebounding from a tough week last week. futures showing a slightly open, lower open, they're going to open regardless, nicole, unclear as to which direction at this hour. >> nicole: hot coffee card. apparently a lot of people still have money to burn.

with slightly heavier rain and thunderstorms as well specially as we head on for today. meanwhile across the western u.s. we have massive storm system in coastal areas and significant mountain snow, 2 feet in some area and that in combination with strong winds will produce dangerous driving conditions. winter storm warnings in effect. another thing to worry about is going to be severe weather. we do have the risk today for storms that could produce damaging winds, large hail and even isolated tornadoes from north eastern texas to western parts of arkansas and that threat expands and shifts east ward, it is a greater risk tomorrow. you're looking at possibility of tornadoes and a lot of warm air in place ahead of the storm system. we are going to be talking about potentially record-setting high
