what's the message? >> michael: the message is overriding caution of the moment, crude oil prices have once again been in decline on the confirmation that iran can return to the oil market. we have seen in middle eastern markets that's been followed by some darely decent false, chinese markets have actually gone slightly higher but overall it's a slightly negative session here in europa. i think in the absence of you guys, i think trading is going to be cautious with a slightly negative bias. >> jo ling: michael, it's jo ling kent, probably going to disappoint globally, how do you think it would impact the global markets? >> michael: the problems out of china, there's nothing new in them. the expectation is that we are

probably going to see a print and 6.9 to 7% which is pretty much in line with expectations. i'm more interested in the industrial production and retails sales data for december. i think if that disappoints, we could see expectations rise over the stimulus of chinese authorizes -- authorities and that in turn could turn the yuan. >> lauren: thank you so much. >> michael: thank you. >> jo ling: u.s. embassy confirming that several americans were missing in iraq. the state department spokesman told fox news that the u.s. is working with the full cooperation with the iraqi authorities to locate and recover the individuals. he could not comment further because of privacy concerns, a spokesman for baghdad joint operations command told the washington post that there are

on friday. so far this year, this dow industrials and s&p 500 are down at least 8%. nasdaq composite is off more than 10% and so joining us now to break this with his take is bill, a chief economist. good morning, bill. what are you telling your clients this morning? >> one of the things and you can start with the frivolous report that is i got from major brokerage firms, to be perfectly honest, my feeding the way we saw an uptake early on the opening in europe this morning was the simple fact was forget oil, iran could be, will be and should be a major exporting nation both for here in the uk. that was the reason why we saw the early opening right now. but the simple fact is i'm

telling my clients like anybody else remain in the bunksers, the market is still going to continue to correct itself. but one of the things i have to agree with and anybody who knows me, i was expecting the federal reserve to start raising rates in june of last year, they missed the opportunity. they should have gone in september and they went in december. my feeding is right now i'm still expecting two rate hikes from the federal reserve probably in march and december, preelection and post election, but the simple fact is if the federal reserve does not move, okay, and we get back the easy money, that to me we could see a recession, great recession, deflation recession far worse than what experienced in 2008. the federal reserve, somebody has to get back to normalization, whatever normalization is, i don't know. >> lauren: federal reserve is obviously watching inflation and

deflation. it's key to the global recovery. >> i think so. i don't for us for the first time here in since 2008 we will paying less than 1 pound which new york equivalent about 67 cents a gallon. so therefore right or wrong, even if wages aren't going up, the consumer will have more money in his pocket, his or her pocket, also the simple fact is increased rates in the uk will not be going up in 2017, so there will be no problems with mortgage. the consumer will start having and continue to have more moneys in their pockets to start spending once again. >> jo ling: we appreciate it so much. >> thank you. >> lauren: coming up, latest attempt to land the rocket on a platform in the pacific ocean ends in a fiery explosion. it toppled. look at that.
