on the storm. we have a meteorologist maria molina in washington. >> we know that washington, d.c. received 20-30-inches of snowfall with some luckily higher in western suburbs. there's one particular report from washington, d.c. that's being disputed because the crew that was measuring the storm lost their snow-measuring device during the blizzard. that's a big problem. they reportedly had to use a different method to measure the snow. it's a big problem for weather record of such a historic storm. a lot of snowfall fell in places like dc and up to nyc and it's going to take a while to clean up. take a look at some of the images in the region with a lot of snow. we have snow piles everywhere

and buried cars in washington, d.c. area. i drove around dc and experienced some of the tough concerns. -- conditions. reports of winds reaching 85 miles per hour, so a very significant impact there. we also had to deal with the storm surge that caused flooding like places like new jersey. temperatures are going to be rising up freezing coming as we head into today and tomorrow. however, the nighttime hours they could be dipping to below freezing, that could be refreezing some of that snow that's going to be melted during the day-time hours. so here is a look at some of these numbers temperature wise we are looking at them reaching 30's in places like dc and also in philadelphia but then as we head into tuesday, temperatures will be rising a little bit more and could reach

washington, d.c., we have the capital building behind me and the roads are pretty icy this morning. they have been doing a great job cleaning out the roads this morning. you just have the piles of snow everywhere and with temperatures climbing above freezing during the daytime hours then deeping down, you could be looking at ice on the roads. try to stay off the roads if you don't have to be out and about. winter storm friday and saturday bringing as much as 20-30-inches of snow and some of the western suburbs of dc picked up even more than that. during a storm there was a dry spot that worked its way to dc area and helped just a little bit. they could have been even higher in washington, d.c. the snow, again, has left a mess behind. it's time to start cleaning up. there are other concerns with the storm. we had to deal with flooding across places like new jersey

and parts in delaware, we had some reported peak wind gust. we saw hurricane-force winds along some of the coastal areas, parts of virginia reporting as much as 85-miles-per-hour winds. 75-miles-per-hour winds in parts of delaware and that's what helped to push a lot of that water on shore producing a lot of flooding in the region. i want to share with you high temperature that is are forecast across the area because they are going to be climbing above freezing, middle 30's in places like dc and philadelphia. by tuesday improved a little more. we could be seeing highs in the 40's. back to you in new york. >> lauren: maria molina, thank you so much. >> nicole: investors breathing a bit easier after stocks had goodwin in a month. we are going to talk to gary

kaltbaum. we will take it after weeks of selling, gary. what do you make of the week ahead? we also have the fed and earnings. >> gary: they're a huge wading for -- waiting for the nasdaq. i am pretty sure on wednesday that all the sellers that wanted to sell after 2200 dupont have been washed up for now and i think we're pretty good, probably up 5 for the next weeks. i still think we are going to go lower and break wednesday, we are now in the mix of rally. >> lauren: you keep saying wednesday because that's the fed's decision on interest rates. >> gary: last wednesday. they're not doing anything. they're going to have to come and say something to the effect

of market issues. >> lauren: are they going to mention china or oil? >> gary: possible slowdowns, but i think they're watching markets more than anything else, more than economic numbers and i don't think they can raise rates in markets that are in trouble. if they do, my thoughts that last wednesday was allow. they get taken out pretty quickly because this is about us versus them, strong dollar versus the weak currencies over there and that does affect markets. >> nicole: we have 130 names in the s&p reporting this week. you mentioned some of the biggies, apple, a lot of tech. you really look at tech more than oil? >> gary: absolutely. the numbers aren't going to be that great. that's going to be the reaction to the numbers and the things that have been sold off. if the market could react well to some of the numeric we are in good stay.
