party and politico saying it is not too close to call. it was a close race but hillary clinton took it. your thoughts? >> the party can do what they want with the day. in iowa you look at state delegate equivalent and 3 or 4 point spread out of 1400 total delegate equivalence. they will map in 244 delegates of the national convention. i would be pretty stunned if it didn't break 22 -- if they want to see hillary won that is an interesting call, not to be too cynical but i bet they got a ton of pressure to declare a winner. we had three of those caucuses, the tiebreaker was broken by

supporters. all in all, a little bit of a surprising result. >> nicole: iowa democratic party declaring hillary clinton the winner now. we know it was neck and neck. we have been watching moment to moment. we saw younger voters to bernie sanders. do you think this would translate to new hampshire now? >> i think bernie sanders had a lead. >> nicole: with hillary clinton, do you think with hillary clinton this momentum could continue for her? >> she's probably going to win south carolina. the next interesting race is the nevada caucuses. >> lauren: why? >> bernie could win half of opening contests going to supertuesday. >> lauren: let's go back to go punishing side, you have marco rubio surging and donald trump learning that he can be beaten. what do you learn from the republican side?

>> people make up their minds late and so we see these polls and we live by the polls and certainly rcp does. at the end of the day, voters and primaries take a good last look before going into the race and that can change things. >> lauren: the polls are not always accurate as we have been learning. >> that's right, they're the best bet but not always the right bet. >> nicole: a lot of people were actually saying that they wanted an outsider, someone outside of washington. what do you think of that? >> people, i think, when they go to voting booth value experience. you do have senators and true outsiders, senators with a lot of experience who did pretty well. >> lauren: what do you make of the new-comers, four and ten showing up for the most parton both sides. what did that help, who did that hurt? >> on the democratic sanders it helps sanders.

iowa caucuses now the books with record-breaking turnouts. ted cruds beating donald trump to 28%. days before donald trump skipped the debate. here is how they all reacted to the news. >> god bless the great state of iowa. tonight is a victory for courageous conservatives across iowa and all across this great nation. >> we finished second and i want to tell you something, i'm just honored. >> tonight here in iowa the people of this great state sent a very clear message, after seven years of barack obama, we are not waiting any longer to take our country back.
