snyder said last month he just learned about the rise in legionnaires' cases. nicole: there is new information about explosion tore in the side after jet in somalia that took off last week. they believe a passenger who boarded the plane in wheelchair may have been a suicide bomber. it is believed the man was able to use the wheelchair to bypass strict security screening in mogadishu. the explosion ripped a hole in the fuselage but did not bring down the plane. the explosion ejected the alleged bomber from the cac bin and his body felt fell to either. lauren: this is how stocks ended the day. hang seng is up half a percent and kospi up slightly. nicole: see what it was doing in europe right now ahead of jobs day. we're seeing up arrows for the ftse and cac. both up half a percent. dax up fractionally.

lauren: has been a tough week for stocks. s&p futures up almost five. nasdaq futures gaining 13. nicole: check out key commodities here. we're watching ol' closely. oil up 44 cents. gold is graining slightly, not even a buck at 1158 a troy ounce. lauren: let's look at the u.s. dollar trading against key currencies. peso higher against the dollar. yen is lower. nicole: treasurys are yielding 1.84%. lauren: investors looking for slower growth when the january jobs report is released later this morning. the estimate for 190,000 new jobs to have been added compared to december's 292,000. with unemployment rate holding steady at 5%. this very closely watched jobs report follows disappointing economic data recently that could give federal reserve a reason to postpone further hikes in interest rates. complete coverage with a special jobs in america report. that all starts 8:00 a.m. eastern time. nicole: linkedin had good news, bad news in the fourth quarter earnings report. investors are focusing on the bad news as you see the stock. they beat analysts estimates on income and revenue but disappointing outlook and earnings guidance sent linkedin shares down nearly 30% in after-hours trading. linkedin makes most of its money from premium services for job seekers. after hours tumble, linkedin in shares were already down 15% this year. so when that opening bell rings this morning at 9:30 watch for linkedin to sink. lauren: viacom board of directors claimed chief executive officer phillipe dumond as executive chairman replacing majority owner sumner redstone. 92-year-old chairman becomes chairman emeritus. a day after cbs, the company's majority owner was stepping down as executive chairman. nicole: former drug company ceo

state television. good friday morning, tracy. >> good morning, ladies. today marks the last trading day before the chinese holiday new year starts. it will be closed until february 15th. shanghai reversed earlier gains to finish down .6 of 1%. brokerages suffered biggest losses in over a month. hang seng managed to eke out gains gaining half a percent but that market will also be closed three days next week for chinese new year celebration. moving to tokyo japanese shares can't seem to catch a break. nikkei down 1.3%. exporters badly sold off despite gains on wall street. due to yen's continue with us strength against the u.s. dollar. in south korea kospi finished pretty much flat as u.s. waits nervously for data this afternoon. lauren: tracy, thanks so much.

nicole: caught up on the rest of the global market action we're checking out europe ahead of our big jobs report. somewhat mixed, just up about half a percent for the cac and ftse. the dax has a gain of .1 of 1%. lauren: here in the u.s. stock market futures looking like this ahead of opening bell. s&p futures up four 1/2. nasdaq futures up 12 1/2 but the dow is down 50 points this week. so a good jobs report, nice reaction in stocks later this morning could make us positive for the week. nicole: we'll see if we have a win here. check out commodities. as oil stays higher that helps things along. we'll watch the dollar. 32.09, up seven cents. gold gains about a buck. tracy, you mentioned yen. best week for the u.s. dollar. that is something traders are watching. lauren: if you're heading off to work this morning you might want to leave a little earlier. winter storm is underway across the east coast. could make for one messy commute.

for latest we go to fox meteorologist maria molina. good friday morning. >> good friday morning. what a way to end the week as many people head to work. messy roads in places likes new jersey and delaware, extending into parts new england. a lot of snow coming down out there. borderline for some cities. boston, new york city and philadelphia we have temperatures at the surface above freezing that means as the snow comes down it will be melting before reaching the ground. so that is welcome news. we hope most of the precipitation stays in form of rainfall instead of snow so we don't deal with dangerous road conditions. looks like eventually we could see a transition across these cities if temperatures begin to dip down. it will be very close call for many big i-95 cities. i do think in the suburbs and higher elevations where it stays cooler you are going to be seeing snow coming down. you could see as much as three to five inches and locally higher amounts. winter weather advisories in effect. winter storm warnings across

it lofted 13 games previously against ranked opponents including six this weekend. nicole: if you're heading to work this morning you might want to leave earlier. winter storm on the east coast make as messy commute. latest on storm, we go to fox meteorologist maria molina. good morning maria. >> good morning it is a little messier long the mid-atlantic coast and parts of new england. because of a coastal low pressure system hovering out here producing areas of rain and even some snow. we are seeing changeover from rain to snow across big cities right now along i-95 corridor. it will start to get messy as the snow continues to stick on the ground and potentially accumulate as much as two to four inches. locally even higher amounts across the region. we're expecting to see heavier totals where we have winter storm warnings in effect. parts of long island, eastern connecticut and rhode island and many areas, you could see
