lauren: hillary clinton meeting with editorial board. democratic front runner acknowledging consequences of the 1994 crime bill passed during the bill clinton administration. i agree with those who say a lot of the sentencing, a lot of the three stieks and you're out, a lot of the over criminalization of non violent action led to a situation that we mustards. lauren: the legislation included assault weapon's ban and more police and that law has criticizing for causing spike in incarceration rates particularly for minorities. nicole: in an interview with mike a new site, he said the u.s. is ready for a woman president. >> i would like to see a woman. >> that's it.

s&p futures up 5. lauren: checking in on key commodities this morning. oil and gold trading with up arrows, 81 cents a barrel. gold is gaining $4 to 12.26 a troy ounce. nicole: aluminum prices weighing on alcoa revenue. revenue fell 15% from a year ago. however, adjusted earnings topped expectations thanks to business for airplanes and auto the company will spin off later this year. alcoa said may cut jobs, marking the unofficial start for earning season. lauren: union 40,000 verizon workers, some members may begin striking, the strike deadline 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. new contract limiting outsourcing as well as increasing pay and improving working conditions, the last contract expired in august.

let's check out what's going on with commodities. oil right now 49.70. fourty-two cents this morning. lauren: stock to watch today is alcoa, weak aluminum prices, take a look because shares are falling more than 4% right now in premarket trading after revenue fell 15% from a year ago. however, adjusted earnings alcoa topped expectations thanks to profit growth to airplanes and auto. alcoa may cut 2,000 jobs, and like we said it's not expected to be a good one. nicole: 8 and a half% lower particularly in the energy sector. justice department says goldman sachs has agreed to pay over $5 million to settle claims heading into the 2008 financial crisis.
