bring that to you live. melissa: chipotle hit a new low. they may not be able to recover from. this is according to an annual survey. the mexican food chain falling to fifth in the most popular brand selling mexican inspired food. they were first for three years before this, and dumped down all the way to fifth. where do they go from her? turkel brand ceo bruce turkel joins us now. i mean, you managed disasters and turned them around, this is a disaster. what do they do, bruce? >> the biggest disaster, my biggest fear is to be on the show talking about fast food with you. if i say something bad about fast food, you will jump all over me. here's the problem as i see it. chipotle sold healthy fast food. we thought they cracked the code on that. the problem is fast food people don't want healthy. healthy eaters don't want fast food. i don't think the customers coming to chipotle were mexican food fans. they were healthy food fans,

and as soon as chipotle had the scare about e.coli and the other safety issues, they lost that group. what did that leave? the fast food people, the mexican food people, and they didn't care about the brand. you know what they say? be careful what you wished for. they wished for the position and it's coming back to bite them. melissa: you wonder what was the problem there, blaming it on the health scare they had and people going away and not coming back. it was a new hot thing and they are getting criticized for not changing menu. other people have written articles about how it's a billion-zillion calories, if you think you are healthier rather than going to mcdonald's, maybe it's healthier because it's vegetables if it's not poisoning you, but it's not lower calorie, you're not losing weight. so maybe it was just a product of people sort of seeing through it. but what can they do? they've got to do something, other than laying down on the ground and playing dead.

what can they do? >> the number one thing all businesses sell, unless they're selling the lowest price which chipotle was not is trust. trust is hard to attain, it's very easy to lose. so you know, we've talked about the steps before. the first thing you've got to say is mea culpa, there was a problem, we know what it is and dealing with it. here's how we're dealing with it. the next thing you've got to do is show people why they've got to come back. you hit the nail on the head. they were the new young hot thing until they weren't. they need things to introduce to people. i'm willing to try that, overcome the negatives with positives. the problem is what most people do is start talking about how everything is better which is the same as telling people why they shouldn't not come. buy our jeans, they won't make your butt look big is not a great sales technique. melissa: unless you want your butt to look big. [ laughter ] >> to each his own.

a speaker of the house suggested that donald trump's comments about the judge were racist. what would you say to that? >> you know, it was really tough watching that. i thought to myself it's the tea kettle calling the pot black considering the republican party had the reputation of being racist. we know that's not the case, the republican party actually freed the slaves. when you see that type of thing, they talk about wanting unity and say things like that. it really angers me, everyone has a different definition of racism. racism to me is when you generate poverty and create stereo types. who better than the democrats for that? it truly angers me. david: in the last election, ileana, the last election, 2012, the republicans did not get a lot of support from the latino community in general. george w. bush preceding that did, do you think that the number of latinas votes for
