trump will speak and so will former candidate ted cruz. his speech, listen to this one, his speech reportedly will not be vetted. big risk. the trump campaign has not been told what ted cruz is going to say. he could say anything. a little drama there. for the media this morning, it's an over the top orgy of trump bashing. here is a headline from "the washington post," you won't believe it, another day of the g.o.p. convention, another night of terror. what? terror? clearly donald trump is fighting hillary clinton and the entire media establishment. ♪ >> sound the trumpets. would you believe another stock market rally? yes, again. we are headed where we've never been before. who would have thought. 18,600 probably in a couple of minutes. your stuff and get at it at any time. it's a huge growth business and microsoft is on it, i do own some of the stock, going to be up today a couple of bucks. now, the great 2016 stock rally, peter morici is here, tenured economics professor at university of maryland. don't forget tenured, that's important. peter, you told us a couple of weeks ago you thought that donald trump has something to do with this market rally. you still feel that way? >> well, i do. he creates a-- he shakes things up and creates some optimism that things can get better and they can if we get rid of this administration and don't elect a third term of hillary clinton. you know, the economy has so much more potential than it is fulfilling, that's why businesses have so much cash on their books. and they're essentially not investing, even though there are a lot of great ideas to invest in. in the meantime they're finding ways to be more emisht and make nor profits and this is a

profits-driven rally which i wrote about last week. stuart: i've got to be disappointed last night at the convention, the economy was the theme, but i didn't hear much about growing the economy, cutting taxes, getting on board with a positive view. i didn't hear that last night. >> well, what you heard were two prominent republicans in the face of ryan and mccconnemc, hedging their bets. they're concerned about the house and senate and they're alluding to their own agendas in reality. ryan wants you to know that he's going to be there to defend the republican agenda no matter what happens. i believe that the republicans are still skeptical about trump's ability to win. it's well-founded skepticism, not in the candidates, but for them. the behavior of kasich, he's in his state and the guy won't come out and help. stuart: that was kind of ridiculous if you're on the republican party. that's division. >> it's not called for. stuart: you're right.

peter, i'm glad you gotten y-- got tenure, you're going to need it. apart from microsoft, look at morgan stanley, it's going to be higher today. the stock will open up, and morgan stanley shares are actually down 30% since last july, they're coming back up a little today. look at lockheed martin, up more today. you've got to watch the big defense contractors. they've been on a tear recently. what does it tell you? i don't really want to answer that question. the price of oil is down today. $43 a barrel. and an hour and now, the latest numbers on supply. and 1.57%, that's the yield on the 10-year treasury. to politics, the media pulling out every single stop you can imagine to skewer donald trump. look at usa editorial board.

america, be afraid, be very afraid. usa today. and op-ed, washington post, the trump convention is a triumph narcissism. from the new york times, donald trump claims nomination with discord clear, but family cheering. joining us is sam clovis, national trump campaign chair. i have a long list of negative headlines about trump and i know you're smiling, you're always smiling when you appear on this program, but what are you going to do about this? what can you do about it? >> i think the biggest and moss important aspect of this is what the american people are going to think. this is really, i think, the last 36 hours i've been amazed at the incredible onslaught of pundits and media people trying to get the four decimal places what's wrong with the republican party and what's wrong with donald trump. frankly the american people

don't see it that way. they're looking for a leader and they found a leader in donald trump. i think all the stuff going on in cleveland, i don't think it's going to matter at the end of the week because i think we are going to see a bump for donald trump in the polls. all of this frenzy of pulling hair out and rending of clothes is not going to matter a wit to the american people. >> a potential negative, that would be ted cruz. he speaks tonight. as i understand it, his speech has not been vetted in advance which means you don't know what he's going to say. he could really wreck things or he could make things. that's a potential risk tonight, sam. >> i think it is, but i also think that we have to trust senator cruise to come out and make the case for conservative, we're going to hear the same from governor mike pence. the underpinnings has always been conservativism. and they'll put a cork in the

bottle on the protests and turmoil in the party. let's be honest, this was a bare knuckle fight from the start and a lot of feelings got bruised. as we go on for the campaign. people will have a choice for donald trump and hillary clinton. i think senator cruz will be with him. >> that's how you're posing the republican party, how you're trying to get unity, if you don't have trump, you have children. >> right. >> that's how you get the party to unify, correct? >> that's right. what we've been asking all along is to compare and contrast. let's compare and contrast donald trump with hillary clinton and i think the american people have already started that process of shoozing. if you look -- they've started the process of choosi choosing.

>> well, i met him in 2005. we had our tour championship on his golf course in florida and that was the first time i met him and got to play golf with him and fast forward till now, he's just been such an incredible influence in my life both in business and reich we heard, helping me up a boys and girls club. he has been a tremendous supporter and a positive influence and just one of those people that continue to encourage me and someone i can reach out to for advice on business or more, just when i'm having a challenge with being a female going into a tough meeting or going into, you know, just anything having to do with the world of sports. stuart: natalie, a lot of people when they come out openly in support of donald trump, they get a little hostility from the people around them, friends, family, colleagues. there's a lot of hostility to trump supporters when they come out into the open. what happened when they realized you were going to

speak at the convention in favor of donald trump? >> well, knock on wood that they guess, but i've had an overwhelmingly positive response. i play in a women's sports organization and i am around women entrepreneurs very, very often and my sponsors and my friends and family, a lot of people know donald and know donald the way that i know donald. my family stayed at his house in florida and he's been an active part of me opening up my boys ab girls club, which is my single greatest accomplish: it's been all positive. stuart: i want to leave people because on this program, gary player frequently appears with us. >> i've seen it. stuart: and he wowed our audience because he's 80 years old and he does 1300 sit-ups a day. could you do that? >> i know, he's unbelievable. i've not worked out yet so i

defense stocks they're making news recently all time highs across several of the big contractors, look at them now lockheed l3 -- why defense stocks doing so well? >> since president obama has been in the white house, we've been at war pretty much from the entire term of his now, of course, inherited much of this but defense strox from strength to strength. revenue sup. been selling their private jets, f35s, you know, it's been a boom not only for those type of defense but aero space industry as a whole. index is up 8% over the year better than 1.6% for the s&p 500 rules so bottom line is business -- these stocks have been vrgdz. >> i want to throw it out in chicago. general you're a commodity kinde guy but see across the board going up rather quickly? does that worry you?

stock market going up up for no good reason so we have a lot of things happening globally. unrest out there more than i've seen in a long time and admit that and at the same time seeing all time highs. when this thing pops it might be 18 months from now and look back and go dang it i should have seen that coming it was right in front of my face. >> i have to say with you for a second, scott. a lot of people call this a paper rally. it's all about the paper that's flooding the world. and printing money -- you think that's -- hold on a second. scott, do you think that at some point we come crashing down i use that word advisedly down, down, down? >> you know, i can sum it up like this february 20153.5 million trillion in government debt at a negative. february 2016, doubles to 7 trillion. but beginning the last month it was 11.7 and yesterday over 13 trillion. government debt priced at a

negative. that pace it's going to destroy pension funds and destroy insurance companieses, the middle of america is going to collapse in and itself we're going to create wealth because that's in upper 1% with über and like of all of the technology companies we talk about on this show a lot. but middle of america that hass debt, student loan debt and car debt that is going to imloatd as they get replaced by drones by über you know driverless iewbers that's über so that's the story so i hate so say we can't continue at this pace. something has to give. >> what do you say? >> i agree with them 100%. middle of america has been hallowed out and no upside for jobs, and job growth and scott is right in terms of the drones, et cetera. >> you think this is based on sol lited evidence of companieses using their money more effectively using their employees more effectively more productivity. that's what think this is based on, right peter?

>> learning to use capitol much more effect ichly while central bank may have printed a lot of money. they're using money efficiently and lowerses capitol and raises ratios. we are now trading at about the 25-year average. but the average -- the long-term average the moving average over time is trending up. my feeling is we could be looking at ratio 35 long-term so i'm not at all concerned. >> that's way up. hold on a second i have to tell you about stocks -- >> historically 25 and that's where we are right now. stuart: facebook hit a lifetime high. just above 121s dollars a share. would you buy it at 121? >> no. i would be happy with it. but ping steep for me here. but i think this has nowhere to go but up but hoping to go down to buy it lower.

stuart: nintendo stock is down. is this some kind of delay with "pokemon go," in japan, nicole what's going on? >> "pokemon go" all the rage supposed to be worried about global issues but this has a dollar cent business story. first mcdonald's have been is launching "pokemon go" theme toys, we're with looking at mcdonald's we're looking at nintendo here's nintendo down 8%. mcdonald's has toys and becoming gaming area battleground where you can find pokemon. nintendo i want to give you current numberses so far they're saying "pokemon go" has earned $14 million. it is shot up stock over 80% and is 17 billion to the market cap which means surpass sony. now today it pulls back because the developer said you know what we're worried that we're not going to be able to handle all the gamers who pile on in asia and delayed the open that's why you have that.

in the meantime going forward they say this could be a $4 billion gamer year, and take out not just nintendo but investors good one. >> do you have anything to say about "pokemon go" at all?
