good night. [♪] lou: good evening, everybody, i'm lou dobbs. donald trump today expanding his campaign with 82 days before election day. the trump team bringing on breitbart stephen bannon kellyanne conway. that's ought the none change for trump who today received his first classified national security briefing. that briefing this afternoon in new york city.
11:01 pm
trump brought with him to that briefing new jersey governor chris christie and retired lieutenant general michael flynn because trump says he doesn't quite trust the intelligence community's analysis at least as it's presented by this administration. >> look what happened over the last 10 years. look what happened over the years it's been catastrophic. i won't use the people that are sort of the standards. i won't use them because they made such bad decisions. look at iraq and the middle east it's a total powder keg. lou: among my guests, congressman tom marino who met with donald trump. and congressman ron difficult d. the report confirms the obama

florida, virginia, and pennsylvania and north carolina. the trump campaign hasn't spent a time on ads since trump became the party's nominee. the republican nominee met with trusted advisers on the fight against radical islamic terrorism and foreign affairs. our first guest, one of those present at the meeting. congressman, great to see you. let's start with the meeting. the tone, the nominee's mood, tell us what you can. >> donald was in a very good mood. the tone was very upbeat. a serious meeting. there were 30 people around the table. experts in terrorism. donald asked several questions,
11:04 pm
and the experts answered those questions and expand on them. he delved deeper into the answers with more questions. and he did a great deal of good visit and he took that advice. lou: that's interesting. he has done something i never heard of a presidential nominee doing before. saying clearly before the briefing that he does not trust the briefing and its contents and he's going to remain sceptical. >> i think any president should approach intelligence briefings that way. he's the first candidate i ever heard say it in advance. >> i agree with you. any presidential candidate should approach a meeting like that. but he's not a politician. so politicians are the ones that sit back and make it sound hunky dory. the american people know what this administration and what hillary clinton has done when she was -- when she was

secretary of state. and what the foundation has done which is certainly illegal. and they don't tell us the truth. look what they said in benghazi and what she said about her servers and confidential and secret emails. look at what the president said about the unemployment which they fudges those figures constantly. it's just consider they are a bunch of lies. so would i expect them not to believe it. lou: we won't fence obamacare because that has been a series of lies since 2009 and the pass able of obamacare. now we are watching i it deisn's sintegrate.

he has just changed the campaign leadership. done it forthwith. and steve bannon i happen to know personally. i have the highest respect for him. kellyanne conway, the highest respect for her. she becomes the first woman to lead a republican president candidate's campaign and there is no mention of that. >> he surround himself in business with the best and brightest men and women. built a $10 million business. he's got the brightest mind around him. taking advice. adding to his campaign staff. but it's still not as large as hillary's paid staff is. but --
11:07 pm
lou: i don't believe that's a staff. almost 800 people. >> but i was impressed. i have been in many meetings with donald. and he listened, this man listens and he tests responses and asks why and it gets down into the weed and challenges one. a person who sit before donald, you better know what you are talking about because he's going to find out if you do not know what you are talking about. lou: it's interesting to hear his speech last night. we covered it on the fox business network. i think it's one of the best speeches he has given. i will qualify those amongst the speeches where he was using teleprompter. he was a terrific speech.
11:08 pm
he took on hillary clinton as a bigot. took her and the democratic party on for their failures in the inner cities, and simply in one speech it will take more, no question by the to take that message home to most folks. but in one speech he put clearly on record his judgment that the democratic party has failed generations of african-americans in our inner cities. >> no question. i saw tonight law enforcement when i was a prosecutor. but he's not going to change. donald trump is where he is because he says what he means and means what he says. different than hoik who is programmed. goes out, makes her statement, even though she short-circuits once in a while. that's why she doesn't have the rallies like donald has because she cannot answer questions impromptu. lou: she doesn't seem to be able to attract crowds.
11:09 pm
it's the darnedest things i have seen. but try to correlate that to where she stand in the polls. the continues between her poll the dissonance between her poll numbers and what we are watching in her lying eyes. >> once the polls are out and the pundits are wrong. they are using the old matrix and don't take into consideration the people with different beliefs and people are going to vote for trump. lou: your state pennsylvania critically important in this election. running their monks five other states this friday. what do you expect that message to be and what will be focused the? >> the focus is going to be fighting terrorism, creating jobs, bringing jobs back to pennsylvania and not only the coal industry in the steel industry but in the

manufacturing improving the quality of life, increasing our military to the point where we have a strong military where countries will think twice about doing things to the united states and you will get that point across easily because he knows how to create jobs. he knows how to bring people around him. lou: and he has from the very beginning, i think it's interesting, people are talking about is pivot to the center that has been long expected. they fo absolutely denigrated by the so-called gurus because during the primaries he was more of a centrist than any republican could remember in a primary and i mean it's fascinating to watch the nastiness, the national liberal media toward him. >> well they are going to

11:18 pm
ed rollins let's start with is classified briefing. i have never heard a presidential nominees say to everyone i'm very skeptical of these briefings and in part because of the fact, one part of that is the centcom and specter general purport now trying to figure out why the white house was managing an intelligence assessment. >> as i've said many times on the show it's still president obama said administration. there is no law that says you have to -- the candidates. lou: a courtesy. >> i think some skepticism is right but it's a good step to ring people in who know a lot about the issues and certainly trump doesn't know about the intelligence. lou: governor christie and general flynn. >> that's very smart and at the end of the day as you get more i'm sure this will be a weekly

occasion you will learn a lot more about it. >> i'm struck about the obama administration. you are talking about poll watchers. do we have mostly believe the obama justice department is going to care about voter fraud? lou: not for a single moment. >> that's right so when you have an attorney general that has so clearly put his and now her thumb on the scales of justice to protect the administration we are in never never land. lou: i would say with both feet planted on the scales of justice. what this justice department has become is beyond anything in history. in terms of politicization. >> i think the same of the intelligence. it has been politicized as well to give the president what he wants to hear. he is surrounded by yes men now and he only hears what he wants to hear. lou: that's used the word, this is corruption we are talking about folks.
11:20 pm
we sometimes marginalize our own expression here. it's corruption. >> this is not anything that can be trivialized. it is corruption within our intelligence service, the military at the highest level. we have seen intelligence analysis altered to suit the white house. the justice department, that record. >> it's a great disservice to the president himself. he may have ordered a directive or what have you because he's sitting there making these tough decisions, you want the best intelligence. lou: i think most presidents would add that i don't think there's a skin tell a of evidence that this president is concerned about anything wanting in those assessments. >> you may be correct in for per period of time we have discouraged some of those people from doing what is right. lou: i hope we are discouraging some of them from doing was wrong because that seems to be the direction in the energy of this administration. let's go to donald trump challenging this, the third term
