>> i think people will be saying on the private server alone a different attorney general might have had a different interpretation of the statutes. ladies, thank you so much. it's great having you here. here is lou dobbs. he's next. >> good evening. the trump here well under way. 70 days until the president-elect is sworn in. mr. trump spending much of this day in the nation's capital meeting with president obama and congressional leaders. the day began with a variation on pomp and circumstance at the airport. trump's aircraft receiving a water salute. it's a gesture typically reserved for air force one, world leaders and officials. it was also given toll pilot

complementary to president obama. president obama did not say anything personally complimentary about donald trump. donald trump is like well he shared all of his great accomplishments. i thought i'll be look forward to getting his counsel. lou: called him a good man. >> let's back off on the counsel. we don't want too much counsel from obama. i'm kinds of kidding. lou: you are not kidding at all. >> i don't want an obama in the white house except for fun parties every now and then. president-elect trump -- i still can't believe we are saying it. lou: it has a ring to it. >> president-elect trump i think has gone above and beyond in reassuring the nation he takes this very seriously, and he is,
7:07 pm
you know, very excited about working with paul ryan and congress and -- lou: say that again? hements excited about working with paul ryan on ships agenda, not paul ryan's agenda. lot * it took paul ryan two seconds to better way. >> the hashtag better way. but it's quite something after a couple weeks ago we heard barack obama say that donald trump was inhuman. and un-american. and unfit for the presidency. and then shaking his hands in the oval office and showing him where the path rooms are and all the rest. quite a picture. lou: it's a pretty picture in a way in a number of ways. it's good to see. i'm such a base and petty man that if paul ryan had done to me
7:08 pm
what he did to donald trump my hands would without any power to resist at all would be clutching at his throat. i have to say, donald trump was very presidential. he actually may be seeking to ataint level of saint here. in what he has toll rated. i have to commend the president-elect. he did extraordinarily well in constraining himself and being generous of spirit and heart it was amazing. >> that's the person i know. it doesn't surprise me. that's the way he is with his employees. >> the employees would never betray him like paul ryan did. >> when you watched him at the hilton right as we walked out on election morning, the day after. waste was. 3:00 in the morning. you saw his eyes.
7:09 pm
he teared up a little bit. they all on that stage whether it was jared kushner -- or steve ban none. lou: he looked at the man who betrayed him and he's generous of spirit and strong of heart. >> it's harder to be nice to the people who are hurtful to you than it is -- it's easy to be myself to the people who like you. it's much harder to pray for and work with people who maybe make mistakes along the way. lou: pastor jeffress will have to reschool me on that. >> the most important thing and trump knows that. why should trump pick a fight with paul ryan. it's trump's party. if trump doesn't want something to get passed through congress, it won't get passed through congress.
7:10 pm
ryan is not going to go home on say i defied donald trump. without much help from paul ryan donald trump won the state. i don't think paul ryan wants to go home and tell his constituents that he defied trump. lou: with both houses of congress, soon the supreme court as he starts moving his justices towardconfirmation, if this is going to be trump's government in its entirety, something we haven't seen, and i have to say, we are two days into a transition period, 70 days away from him being sworn in, but i have to say he's off to one heck of a great start. >> i do. i think the first 100 days of his presidency is going to be chock full of initiatives, rescinding executive actions that were unconstitutional or just outrageous. he will move fast on this oba ware redo.
7:11 pm
and he's going to move quickly on the immigration priorities that helped get him elected. build that wall. i hope they will work on -- >> i missed that. >> i think he will work on his priorities. lou: did you say build that wall? >> he will build that wall, and i think ultimately he will have to grapple with niece other immigration issues, not amnesty, but reducing the levels of overall immigration. lou: we can't go through the whole 100 days, but we are off to a heck of a start. it feels good. >> it's the first time i have felt this way about a republican president when i was in college and reagan was reelected. >> lou: we have a lot more straight ahead. stay with us. president-elect trump begins his

transition from political outsider to our nation's 45th president. the dean of political strategists and campaign leaders, ed rollins. he known me next as we begin the trump era. paul ryan as 10 youous footing as he seeks reelection as speaker of the house. will the president-elect hold him accountable for his betrayal? stay with us. my business was built with passion... but i keep it growing by making every dollar count. that's why i have the spark cash card from capital one. with it, i earn unlimited 2% cash back on all of my purchasing. and that unlimited 2% cash back from spark means thousands of dollars each year going back into my business... which adds fuel to my bottom line.
7:15 pm
speed always wins. especially in my business. with slow internet from the phone company, you can't keep up. you're stuck, watching spinning wheels and progress bars until someone else scoops your story. switch to comcast business. with high-speed internet up to 10 gigabits per second. you wouldn't pick a slow race car. then why settle for slow internet? comcast business. built for speed. built for business. i've spent my life planting a size-six, non-slip shoe into that door. on this side, i want my customers to relax and enjoy themselves. but these days it's phones before forks. they want wifi out here. but behind that door, i need a private connection for my business. wifi pro from comcast business.
7:16 pm
public wifi for your customers. private wifi for your business. strong and secure. good for a door. and a network. comcast business. built for security. built for business. lou: president-elect trump has spent no time organizing global leaders. that is symbolic and augurs we think well for relations between egypt and the united states. i would say it's about time. trump also speaking with british prime minister theresa may, calling the u.k. quote a special place and vowing to strengthen the lip between our two countries.
7:17 pm
canada's prime minister justin trudeau inviting trump to visit canada during his phone call. trudeau describing it as a strong beginning. it's been a strong tradition for the new president to make the first foreign visit to canada. joining me now great america pac strategist, veteran of 9 presidential campaigns that he led, the dean, the legend, ed rollins. i have got to get your reaction. this has been a day of great generosity on the part of the president-elect trump. >> the only concern i have the personnel decisions he makes are the most important decisions he will make. and he's very rushed with 70 days.
7:18 pm
the people become policy. and so the fact -- and they do. lou: government -- >> what happens when you appoints governors? the governors you mention there, several of my friends. they have again governors. they think -- they have been governors. they are used to running things. richard nixon appointed 7 governors in 1968. it turned out to be a disaster. governor bush apointsed christy whitman to be the epa director. that was a disaster. what i would wants to make sure is you are putting the guys who ran against you, that they agree 100% with what you want to do in that department. the second thing to support is what happens here is you are trying to put your cabinet members together. and the town will have people say we don't want a cabinet post, we want to be the
7:19 pm
assistant policy for policy. long term the isn't secretary for policy long term. lou: will he make all the right decisions? no one does. but it's important to have his people in the right place. you know what else is interesting. obama seldom held a cabinet meeting. hopefully this president will hold cabinet meetings and he will have freedom he wants to hear from rather than push away. >> the cabinets have so much responsibility delegated to them is they go off and run their own fiefdom. lou: there are three folks i'm interested in and that's certainly rudy giuliani. >> great choice. >> jeff sessions. >> great choice. lou: and chris christy. i think those three people he should hold close to him as he can have.
7:20 pm
i would like them to be with him because they have been soldiers for him and i think he can trust them. >> giuliani is a perfect choice for attorney general. he's the number three guy in the reagan administration. he knows that system. obviously he will appoint all the u.s. attorneys and all the rest and do it very, very well. lou: what do you think of having a son-in-law in the chief of staff. it's a family business he's running. >> he's got to be careful of nepotism laws. there is a specific nepotism law. lou: they would all have to take cuts in pay. >> you can put them in as a volunteer and let everybody know he's chief of star for $1 a year it's always important to have somebody near you. he won't put his stuff into the -- lou: i was thinking i would want
7:21 pm
them there as counselors for him. i don't know that i would put them in a department. >> whatever he needs he ought to get. the only point i make. you have to be careful in your personnel choices. the recommendations, having lived threw this in the reagan and nixon years, you don't see you lou dobbs you are my secretary of defense,. lou: it has a ring to it. >> you pick your assistant secretary and under secretary. you say here is your team, it's the trump team. it often happens. lou: we'll see. do you think defense for me, really? >> i think you would scare the hell out of every foreign country. they would say please give us to in trump. we don't want to deal with dobbs, that mad bomber. thanks a lot.
7:22 pm
you just ruined my political career before it was even born. be sure to vote in our poll tonight. do you believe speaker ryan's betrayal of the republican nominee should disqualify him from holding any leadership role? cast your vote on twitter. we would like to hear what you think about this. the president atlantic seems toe president-elect seems to have a clear yifd whate wants. a trump rally extending into a second day. stocks going to record-breaking levels. the dow surging 218 points. closing at another new all-time high. the tenth record this year, and, man, without question, this is a trump rally. the s & p up 4 points. heavy trading.

7:28 pm
lou: a few thoughts now as the president-elect gins the transition from the ultimate political outside tort most powerful job in the country, from tycoon and campaigner to statesman and commander in chief. it's been 513 days since mr. trump first descended down that escalator at trump tower last june to announce his candidacy for president. and now, after nearly 60 million people have voted for him and the vote count in the general election is still under way, trump has gone from businessman to republican nominee to now president-elect. and he went to work immediately. he's scheduled to meet with japan's prime minister next week. he's agreed to meet with mexico's president during the transition period. he's already talked with leaders from egypt, israel, britain, canada and president-elect trump talking with leaders in our nation's capitol meeting with president obama for the first time ever before he held meetings with speaker ryan and senate
7:29 pm
majority leader mcconnell. those talks focusing on immigration, health care, jobs, top trump priorities in the first hundred days of his administration. mr. trump also making big plans for his first day in office including term limits for members of congress. renegotiating nafta, the removal of tpp and removal of illegal immigrants from our society. trump planning to accomplish all of that with help from stalwarts like senator jeff sessions, rudy giuliani, governor chris christie, dr. ben carson among others all considered for cabinet-level positions. our president-elect demonstrated work ethic throughout his life, through his many accomplishments and to the entire nation throughout the year and a half long presidential campaign he's run and won, and the fact is he will need all of his now legendary energy and ambition to repair so much damage done by his predecessors, and, yes,
7:30 pm
i made that a plural, not a singular. but america has always been a country that seems to get lucky, and we are lucky to have donald trump step up for the most important job in this country, and to start as quickly as he can what we know will be the hard, difficult work of repairing a country that's been torn and that is tired, ready, though, to begin the hard work of coming together and moving this nation ahead. with all the work that he must do, january 20th can't come soon enough for all the rest of us, and not for donald trump, not for the american people, and we should thank god almighty that we have such a leader. the quotation of the evening, this one from george bernard shaw who said -- change is in the wind.
7:31 pm
we're coming right back. the mainstream media sfar has done very little to convince donald trump that they're no longer highly repugnant. >> the media are among the most dishonest people anywhere at any time. [booing] . lou: we take up the elite left-wing media meltdown and a lot more with eboni williams and chris plante next. and these wingsuiters teaming up for an incredible breathtaking journey in the sky. we'll bring you their remarkable flight and the video straight ahead. we're coming right back with much more. stay with us. the pursuit of healthier.

. lou: you know, there's still a little ignorance in this country, grubhub forced a backtrack, ceo put out a letter suggesting pro trump employees should resign. ceo matt maloney wrote to the employees, saying, quote -- well, i think he should start with himself, that is aboutas ignorant and insulting letter i've seen to employees by any ceo and friend, i think it's audios for you if your board has guts or decency at all. by the way, the stock down about 4% on the day, that ought to grab everybody's takening at grubhub.
7:36 pm
they issued a statement saying they accept employees with all political beliefs, no matter who they voted for. that's quite a statement for a publicly held company to have to put out. the man, if he had self-respect, he has none or wouldn't have written it, but the board should get rid of that fella quick. joining me the host of the chris plante show, chris plante, attorney, fox news contributor, eboni williams, great to have you both here. >> thank you, lou. lou: eboni, what a day donald trump is president-elect for the first time meeting president obama. they were nice to each other, nobody -- >> no blood! [laughter]. lou: it was great! and the president being gracious to two folks who were no help to him at all, paul ryan and mitch mcconnell. >> you're right about it. i was very pleased, i charged president obama yesterday on "outnumbered" with doing just
7:37 pm
that, if indeed he's the leader most of us voted him to be, he had to do this today. this was the last opportunity for him to demonstrate leadership at this level and i think he rose to the occasion, i think president-elect trump was equally gracious, i wasn't surprised by how this went as some because they never actually met. you know how hard it is to viciously hate someone have you never actually met. i think again -- lou: well, it's easier than somebody you have. >> no! i disagree, lou, i think it's easy to concoct stuff in our heads around people. lou: really? >> yeah. sitting here at the table, i can imagine having negative feelings. lou: i think you and i agree violently on this issue. >> totally. lou: see what chris plante has to say. >> yeah. [ laughter ] >> what do you think? >> barack obama is being very gracious in public. he's dying inside because he knows this is the end of his legacy and it's a catastrophe
7:38 pm
for him, always refer to the godfather in situations like, this keep your friends close and enemies closer. barack obama will be nice in public and find some way to have somebody slip him the shiv, as soon as the lights are off because obama despises him and despises the fact that hillary clinton lost. >> you think so? >> come on! >> it's over. >> he's kkk, he's the klansman, worse than senator robert byrd, obama was saying this two weeks ago. here's the other thing that got me going today. lou: we're here for therapy, i tell you. >> they are breaking their own arms patting themselves on the back, congratulating themselves for inventing the peaceful transition of power. i don't know if you watched this, a couple. other networks are so proud of barack obama for facilitating the peaceful transfer of power like we just invented this.
7:39 pm
lou: deficit, generous and forgive them their hyperbole. >> don't do that. lou: no chance. >> i think chris' point of hillary clinton, i'm one of the cynics who think he was in no way look forward to giving the keys to the white house to hillary clinton on a visceral level. truly, i believe that. >> better than trump. lou: i'm sorry? >> but better than giving the keys to trump. >> in one way, chris, there's a part of him -- lou: you are riled up about this. donald trump and his team have just gone through the white house. they've got the keys now. only got to wait 70 days. big old trucks rolling up there and things are changing plenty and quickly. >> i was wonderth when clintons were moving to move back in, move back in all the furniture they stole the first time they left. [ laughter ] >> in that regard, trump extremely gracious, extremely generous with both mcconnell
7:40 pm
and with ryan. >> who i think he had more to have beef with. it's understandable whatever you think of president obama. he took the position he had to take. these two, mcconnell and ryan, they didn't have to do that to him, and i think that that was donald trump being absolutely gracious to really kind of soften the pallet for many people that have a lot of beef with those two. lou: you get the last word, chris? >> look, it was a rough election season but paul ryan was concerned about hanging onto the house. mcconnell, turtle boy, as i call him, concerned about hanging onto the house. >> you are a man in deep emotion, there is a well of sensitivity. >> you're right, i'm a sensitive individual. >> you are petty tonight, chris. >> they held onto the house, they held onto the senate. we have the white house. get stuff done. >> not only hold onto it, a lot of people got re-elected on the coattails of donald trump the other night. >> you are absolutely correct.
7:41 pm
lou: and actually, ryan, to his credit acknowledged that. >> good for him. lou: mcconnell, what do you call him? turtle man? >> turtle boy. i know. i could have left that out. >> humble, chris, humble. [ laughter ] >> chris plante and eboni williams, thank you, both. please roll the video, there is a fine line between courage and crazy as we all know, here goes courage, watch as the wingsuit pilots drop from the helicopter 13,000 feet above the treacherous italian alps. the thrillseekers spinning, swirling, twirling as they glide through the air performing synchronized routines. that seems a bit much to that. i think that's a little overdone. i mean those people are gutsy as well as coordinated. i'm impressed by both. up next, the white house

. lou: breaking news now, the associated press has just declared that donald trump won the state of arizona two days after the election. that puts another 11 electoral votes for trump in his column. that puts him at 290 electoral votes to clinton's 228. states of michigan and new hampshire remain still too close to call. trump is leading in michigan and in new hampshire trump trails. again, the margin in both states, 3/10 of a percent, and that winning michigan where he is leading with 96% of the vote counted, if he were to win it, that would put him over 300 electoral votes. joining me christian adams former u.s. justice department attorney serving under
7:47 pm
presidents bush and obama, chris is president of the legal interest foundation, great to have you with us. >> hey, lou. lou: starts with issue of pardoning hillary clinton, which has not been resisted entirely by the obama administration. what do you make of the idea and it would be a good one? >> if i was a democrat i'd be praying that president obama pardoned her maybe on christmas eve it would put the whole thing to rest. what is does obama care? he will make it more popular among his crowd. and the people don't like him won't dislike him anymore. i don't know why he wouldn't. lou: one of the reasons is the trump administration in the person of rudy giuliani, giuliani saying please don't do this, that should be a matter for the incoming administration to decide and determine, what do you make of that?
7:48 pm
>> they never respected that demarcation line from bush to obama, but you know, lou, one of the funny things is a person has to accept their pardon. lou: wait a minute, who did bush pardon that was so egregious? >> remember, holder reawakened a number of investigations that had been put to rest under bush. there's not been during the last transition any respect for what the previous administration did or not. lou: i take your point. what they're asking for is quite different from the administration they want to make those adjudications themselves. >> this is an administration that doesn't respect that sort of tradition is my point. so a pardon has to be accepted by hillary, that's funny if you think about it, she would have to basically say --. >> i can hear her laughing now, chris. >> that's right. so imagine what a pardon might look like. people have gone to the gallos in the united states, they won't accept the pardon, refuse to accept they did anything
7:49 pm
wrong. lou: that is stubborn. >> that's stubborn. lou: somehow i don't think she would be quite so adamant in resisting it. what would be your judgment on the likelihood of a pardon by obama of -- it would have to be hillary, it would have to be bill, it would have to be a broad pardon, would it not? >> huma, crimes not crited. lou: the way it might be put. >> the syndicate, all of them. you can pardon someone if they haven't been charged. i see no reason why obama would do that except the one you raised. lou: so there still exists these e-mails, there still exists the foundation in all of its attendant elements of what became a cartel. how do you word that pardon for all their crimes that they committed, thought about committing and may commit sometime in the future. gets a little broad, doesn't it? >> they could always copy
7:50 pm
ford's pardon of president nixon. could do the same thing for anything they may have done. lou: that is remarkable. trump meeting with paul ryan today all seems forgiven and trp is setting a tone of generosity, cooperation. your reaction. >> he's defying all of the people who thought he was something different. he needs congress, lou, to enact much of his agenda. so this is off to a good start. lou: so you said he's defying -- are you in favor of the way in which he's proceeding? are you laudatory or critical? >> laudatory, he behaved like a great gentleman today. like a president-elect. i think that's going to pay dividends in the long run. lou: and the -- very quickly, these people that are being put in the street by george soros, is there criminal culpability and liability for george soros
7:51 pm
for funding this kind of outrageous violence in our streets and demonstrations and costing taxpayers millions and millions of dollars? by the way, it's also bad form, george soros? >> and there's been videos of attacks on voters voting for trump beating them up. as george soros liable, it's a hard case, he builds in many layers on his bank account and street thugs, 50 c 3 charities that are never investigated by the irs. it is a hard case behind it. lou: chris, good have you with us. >> thanks, lou. lou: president-elect trump has promised to be a president for all americans. >> for those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people.
