in december telling him to cut it out. putin dutifully responded with quitting any kind of hack. so why if he quit hacking in september is it a big deal in december? >> the whole press conference today was defensive. by being defensive, he refuted john podesta and hillary clinton who were blaming the russian hacking and -- and the f.b.i. so the f.b.i., the russian hack. barack obama defended the f.b.i. today which i thought was stunning. it was and the full frontal defense. but he was saying they are good people and they know what they are doing. lou: the cia assessment of the hack of the election. >> it was striking because he also said the hacking and all these document did not situate election and had no bearing on

the election which is the clinton campaigns other argument. in a shocking way he completely demolished their arguments. of course it was all in defense of himself. his only goal is to defend himself because he doesn't want to look like the weak leader and the guy who resulted in donald trump being elected. he would rather shift the blame. it's stunning because it's a complete rebuke to what hillary clinton and john podesta are saying. lou: there is something sad about a president who thinks he can talk his way into a legacy that is more positive than the one that will result, which is devastating. >> for those don'tors at the party wonder wrght autopsy was. answer is right in front of their face. her delusion. the fact that this is what she thinks. her inability to connect with the american people.

of those questions or most of them. i think there were a couple things that were troubling. first of all when he was asked, was that a free and fair election. there is only one answer, of course it is. we have free and fair elections in the united states. the other question i would love to have seen asked, mr. president, how did it feel to meddle in the israeli elections in your attempts to unseat netanyahu. how did it feel to meddle in the brexit vote in your attempt to stop brexit. those would have been the questions to ask. lou: there is something about self-righteousness that he has to carry with him. he's never got quite an adequate supply of it. he's looking for other supplies that always at some point seem to be at hand. you make a terrific point in

talking about the intervention in the israeli elections and netanyahu. trying to destroy netanyahu and spending some considerable money and time to do it. our money. and brexit telling the british they are damn fools. this man won't be missed in many quarters outside the left. >> the good news is edonly has 30 days left and he will be out of the white house and we'll correct ther university last 8 years. lou: you make it sound very easy. but we know it will be hard, tough work for the incoming administration. >> it is. but the other troubling thing was when he said we would retaliate against the russians. the responsible thing to do is talk with the trump administration to say how are we going to address this so he doesn't do anything and leave the trump administration holding the bag. i thought that was very

irresponsible to say that on npr earlier in the day and reiterate that in his press conference. he needs to be working with the trump administration. lou: it's a stark contrast, is it not, too look at hillary clinton with 400 of her donors in bright new york city where she is explaining herself and embracing them on it seems, slim chance she'll need their money again. and president-elect trump out on the campaign trail saying thank you to all of the people who supported him. it's really -- it's such a striking contrast between the two and tells us a lot about why he won and what kind of leader he will be. >> you are completely right. polite koa released a blistering and detailed report detailing every single mistake after

mistake that the clinton campaign made. and the fact she started and ended her campaign from new york city i think is rather telling in the sense here she this this metropolitan bubble dealing with voters who are very detached with the rest of america. and those are the voters and individuals and those are the people she was hiring and working with and surrounded herself with. you are right, her campaign was extremely inefficient. and it stands in stark contrast to the way donald trump hand his campaign. we watched his campaign and scratched our heads saying dose know what he's doing? it does go some to show you donald trump didn't need all of the bells and whistles, all these shiny things hillary clinton invested a lot of money in. and it shows you she was never able to articulate a reason why people should vote for her.

she acted like it was just her turn. that message didn't resonate with voters. lou: i want to bring in byron york who is the washington examiner's chief political correspondent. great to see you. one of the things i'm struck by is this game that the left is already playing about impeach donald trump if he doesn't divest by january 20 of all of his billions of dollars and assets and holdings. it's unbelievable what a nasty, vial bunch they turned into. >> i think they have early onset trump derangement syndrome. if you listen to people on the left. they believe republicans plotted to undermine barack obama and tried to destroy this presidency from the moment he was elected, and they are going to offer

donald trump no less. so i think what you are going to see is just an attack on every front possible. the emoluments clause, the business conflicts. this whole electoral college thing. they will try on monday which is undoubtedly going to fail, but they will talk about that for quite a while. then the hearings about russia. so the idea toys have this multi-front attack against trump. none of which has anything to do with the actual jobs, obamacare, immigration agenda that trump is bringing to washington. lou: it has nothing to do with the american people who right now want donald trump's leadership, his ideas, his bold leadership, and they are going to continue, i guess, to simply petty themselves straight into oblivion as a party.

america. however, i don't know how much of an impact those efforts will have nationally. we have seen people are sick and tired of the establishment. lou: he's everything the electorate in 30 states said we are not going to col rate anymore. byron, your thoughts? >> he is well liked locally in d.c. i believe donald trump got 4% of the vote here in washington. lou: the left. it's owe kay. democrats, leftists, liberals, progressive. they are nothing like the rest of america. >> but it's going to be fascinating to watch what the former president does. in the democratic party the existence of the children tons and the idea that hillary clinton would run again tends to strangle the young leadership of the democratic party and they didn't have a group of people running. they only had one guy who was 74 years old to run against her

lou: the pentagon is demanding that china return that american drone that they stole in the

south chain a sea. incident occurred yesterday afternoon 40 miles west of the philippines in international waters. the chinese warship had been shadowing the ship which was retrieving two under water drones. it may be a spy ship. we don't know and they won't tell. the chinese crew sent out a small beaten took one of the drones that looked like this. i mean an under water drone. the american crew made up of civilian mariners and scientists made repeated requests asking the chinese to return the drone they had stolen, to no avail. the crew was not armed at the time except for small arms. after the incidents the state department launched a formal diplomatic protest to china.

china wee vee sponlds by saying it's a risky deal tblght south china sea and what would you expect us to do other than what wee did. we have a sense of what our next president might do. china carried out its first live fire exercise. and that's one aircraft carrier the group includes, dozen of ships and aircraft took part in the exercises a few days ago. the goal to test the weapons performance, training levels. it's china's first aircraft carrier it's by no means a small ship. but 100 feet smaller than the u.s.s. ronald rae began which is stwaitiond the 7th fleet in japan.

position. and some of the stuff outside the box that he's done. i don't like tillerson, i don't like all the putin stuff. i want to see what he says during the transition -- during the hearings. lou are's the top diplomat. don't you want hip to like everybody? >> no. lou: general mattis -- then we bringing you general mattis as secretary of defense, then we get an understanding of a different order. >> general mattis is the best pick in my view. he's routinely seen as beyond competent by everybody. that was a tremendous pick. i don't know about the wall street guys. i want to hear what they say during the hearings. >> there is no such thing as too many generals and too much ceos. they live in a world where there is no excuse for not wing.

the world in our the military. we are going to re-build our you depleted military and we'll take care of our great, great veterans. where are the veterans tonight? [crowd chants "usa"] america pursues this vast military power in the hopes that we do not have to use it. but we'll be prepared if we have to. there has rarely been a time when we needed military power more than it is right now. and we'll going have it. it will be peace through strength. peace through strength. at the same time, our foreign

policy needs a new direction. we have spent $6 trillion in the middle east. and now it's in worse shame than it's ever been before. years of horror. and look what's happening over there right now. $trillion and look what's happened. it's death, it's a horrible thing. we are going to dosing we can. we'll get it straightened out one way or another. but just think it. all of that money within all of those lives. and i mean lives on both sides. tremendous lives, tremendous numbers of people. and we have nothing. it's 15 times worse than it was when we started. so we are going to start using our head. we are going to do things right and try to patch that up and try to help people. we'll build safe zones. we are going to build safe zones in syria.

we are going to build safe zones. and we are going to get the gulf states to pay for the safe zones and we'll try on help people. we are going to try and we are going to get it done. meanwhile at home. our infrastructure is crumbling, tour schools are failing and our workers can't find good-paying jobs. you know that. we are going to change that so fast your heads are going to spin. instead rebuilding foreign nations, it's time to rebuild our nation. that's what we are going to do. for too long we have been moving from one reckless intervention to another, countries that most of you have never even heard of before. it's crazy. and it's going to stop. a trump administration will focus on the vital national security interests of the united states.

and that means crushing isis rapidly and defeeting radical islamic terrorism. well, you know, maybe before we start, this field is massive. i'm looking back there, and with the lights you can't see. i'm seeing -- there they are, look at that. that is a lot of people. man! i'll tell you, that is a lot of people back there. let's see if we can get the cameras to turn around and capture the size of this audience. they won't do it, but let's give it a shot. man, that's a big crowd. you know what we should have done. we should have mad the cameras back and the people forward. because we waste our time with these people.

we should have had the cameras back. next time do that. move the cameras back. you know the equipment is so great nowadays that they can microscoipt and we can get it nice. they can be all the way in the back and it won't make any difference for television. they are screaming "move them back." can you believe it? all right. look. you know what? here is the bottom line. they are very dishonest. they have written very dishonestly about all of us. this is a movement like they have never seen before. yet we won, folks. we won. and you see other side is

complaining. you watch? they are all complaining. before the election when they thought they were going to win and i didn't -- that final week was magic. every place we went we had crowds like this. and you are going to have 2,000 people here tonight. more, you have thousands outside that can't get in. that's pretty good when you can't get into a field, owe kay? and i spoke to the fire marshal. i said can't you let more people in at the back? i said there is no fire here. she said stampede. that's how many people we have. they are wereyed about a stampede. at least we know it will be a friendly stampede. right? i appreciate you being here. this is incredible. and this is -- i had this idea, we won and we won easily. remember they said he cannot get

to 270. there is no path to 270. right? i went to maine four times. because i wanted to get one vote. if maine had one, i needed the one because i believe those people. we went out and we watched the media, and we believe the media, and the media is very dishonest. they were even dishonest in their exit polls. what is the purpose of being dishonest in an exit poll when you are going to find out the truth in three hours. what are they doing? other than tormenting us because we thought for two or three hours that we were going to lose. but it started three months before the election when we heard the great state of texas which i thought we were doing great in, and georgia, what a great state. and utah. and you heard it. georgia is in play.

now, that means that, you know, i could lose it. now, you shouldn't lose it as a republican. you lose georgia, you are in big trouble. he's even. he's even in georgia. i said man i thought i was way up. texas, texas is in play. i said this is not good. and then w and my daughter and son-in-law called me and said, pop, not looking good. not looking good. and i really thought -- i was already preparing in my mind. i was saying well, if that's the way it is, because they were faulty polls. but they said, ivanka, has anyone heard of ivanka? she said, dad, i'm telling you, don't worry about it, dad it's okay. i said i can't believe it that we are going to lose. because i see these crowd it doesn't make sense.

bottom line, the polls close, right? and they go, donald trump has won the great state of texas. i said what happened. like in two minute. donald trump breaking news. donald trump has won georgia. donald trump has won utah. these were states for two months they are talking about that we are even. and in fact in to you thank you i had this character nobody ever saw before, nobody ever herd of him before, i said to -- nobody ever heard of him before, evan mcmuffin. do you believe that or something like that. i never heard of this guy before. nobody did. and the polls said he's even with donald trump. my wife said, she looked at the television and said he's not even with you. believe me. he's not even.

anyway, so we win. they all love melania. isn't melania great? she is great. she is a solid rock great person. and she loves you. and she is enjoying herself. it's much better to win than to lose. do we agree with that? so utah, it gets announced very early. breaking news, donald trump has won utah. we didn't just win it. we slaughtered. evan, whoever this is, this person, remember he said, we think we can win the election. but we said you are only going to win maybe utah. and you know what he would have done if he did? we have plenty of everything. but all -- i don't know if he's a lightweight. we should never say that. don't ever call a person like that a lightweight. what a group.

only in florida could this stuff happen. but we won utah by a lot. like a real lot. and it was a massive -- and evan didn't even come in second. hillary came in second. so i think -- i really believe it was dishonest polling. but who knows. who thinks it was dishonest by the media? i do. i do. we open up with that. then all of a sudden ohio where they had us down for two months as even, we win by almost 10 points. so we hear -- and we were supposed to win maybe by 2 points or one point or three points. and i had a little hostile environment. i had a governor who wasn't like the great rick scott. i had a governor -- i said how

do you win a state when you don't have the support of the governor. i think i did better this way. so they go out and they say, breaking news, donald trump has won ohio and with a very big number. then breaking news, donald trump has won iowa by more than 10 point. that's unheard of, right? then we come down to this beautiful piece of land we all love surrounded by the ocean, right? surrounded. surrounded by beautiful seas. it's a place called florida. if you ever heard of it? has everybody heard of florida? i love florida. i love the people of florida. so all night long it's even. it's even. it's going even, even. then they get to the panhandle. i don't know who lives in the panhandle. not too many. did i blow them out of the panhandle or what?

you know what? the panhandle wants its jobs back. but the panhandle was unbelievable, and we won until big, much bigger than anybody thought. so they go -- you know, you had other side. they were being interviewed saying we'll win florida and we expect to win it easily. breaking news, donald trump wins the state of florida. right? and then we win south carolina. and then we have north carolina. north carolina was supposed to be close. very hard for the republicans to win. a lot of reasons for that. but it's very hard. but we worked hard there. and we really -- my children were there, and everybody was there. they were working hard. then it comes out, the tarheels, then it comes out very strongly that trump is looking good in

north carolina. and my opponent, i won't mention names -- but my opponent, they spent a fortune, they spent a fortune in north carolina. and their people got on television [crowd chants "lock her up"] >> that's so terrible. you know, here is what's happening. i notice because i did ohio, we did north carolina. we did all of them. last night, hershey, pennsylvania. did you see that crowd? it's like thank you florida, thank you pennsylvania. we are doing a thank you. nobody ever heard of it before. we have more manage nation and anybody who has ever done this because we are not politicians. but i'll tell you what i noticed.

so we go to ohio and we go to iowa. the crowds are incredible. thank you. thank you. amazing people. so here is what i noticed. four weeks ago just prior to, and always prior to, you people were vicious, violent, screaming, where's the wall, we want the wall. screaming, prison, prison. lock her up. you were going crazy. i mean you were nasty and mean and vicious and you wanted to win, right? now same crowd, that's right, deplorables. what ever happened to the deplorables? they are not so deplorable.

they are not so deplorable anymore. the other side is trying to figure out, how in four years do we get some of these deplorables to our side. but now it's much different. now, you lay back, you are cool, you are mellow, right? you are basking in the glory of victory. and we are already getting to work. you see what we did with carrier. we are saving a lot of jobs. many, many places. we have got a lot of things going on. we are going to do the big picture. but we'll have to wait until we get in office. do you agree? i'm having a hard time waiting. i just make phone calls. but now you are mellow. and you are cool. and you are not nearly as vicious or violent. right? because we won. right? and now you are sort of laying back all though it doesn't

exactly sound like a totally laid back crowd. but that's okay. so the other side goes out and they say, trump cannot win north carolina. that's our fire wall. remember on television. this our fire wall. ladies and gentlemen, we have breaking news. donald trump has won the state of north carolina. unbelievable. and then you look at pennsylvania. pennsylvania was always the state they say the bride that got away. every republican for 8 years. but every republican, they left. before the election everybody thought he single republican, you are going to win pennsylvania. you know that. it didn't work out that way at all. never worked out that way. and we were campaigning in pennsylvania. we were getting the biggest crowds they ever had, they have ever seen. and i kept saying we are going

to win the state. then i heard over and over, republicans don't win it. they think they are going to win the and they don't win it. and they wouldn't announce these crooked people back here. they wouldn't -- no, no. they wouldn't announce it. first of all, first of all, they were in state of panic. they were in a state. now we win florida and they were worried because we won ohio by so much more than we were anticipated to win. and we won iowa so big, and we won florida so much bigger than we thought. just to go back a few months. how good did we do in florida in the primary. right? how good was that. that was good. but i don't talk about that anymore. we don't talk about that. so now they are getting nervous on television.

and you see these anchors and they are sweating and crying and throwing up all over the place. and you know, a couple of them with the chart. john king is very good with the chart. you know all those months he's saying there is no path to 270 for donald trump. there is no path. so now what happens, we are leading pennsylvania. we are leading pennsylvania by a lot. and we have 1%, 99%, and it was there for hours. i said why don't they -- i considered it a win. the 1% was not nearly enough votes because we were leading by a lot. but instead announce it at 11:00, they waited until 3:00 in the morning. now, i think they did that for commercials if you want to know the truth because the audience

was massive. but a couple things happened that were surprising. we have breaking news, ladies and gentlemen, donald trump -- now the guy is getting sick. he's ready to throw up all over. donald trump -- this came out -- these people are incredible. i thought we were going to do well there -- donald trump has won the state of wisconsin. where did that come from? where did it come from? and then right after that. laid gist why is and gentlemen, donald trump has won the state of michigan. michigan? hasn't been won in 38 years, right? and now the gentleman with the map which is bloody, it's so red, sow beautiful. remember the map? when they showed it? there was a lot of blue. that blue got knocked to hell,

i'll tell you that. that was pouring red. and you know, they said you cannot break the blue wall. up by canada, right? you cannot break the blue wall. i have been hearing this for months. i have said how are we going to break the blue wall until we used to believe guys like wall material cronkite. but we don't have walter cronkite anymore. this is a different world. we are listening to these people who are dishonest as hell. they are telling me for months. they are telling all of us, you cannot break the blue wall. so what happens is we not only did we break it. we shattered the hell out of it. so now we win wisconsin, and now what happens? we win wisconsin we win michigan, and i knew we were going to win michigan. i have been talk about cars

being ripped out of michigan where they make the cars. i have been talking about it for five or six years. i got the man of the year award four years ago in michigan. all i talked about was you can't let your factories go. they said that wasn't the reason for the man of the year. i said it doesn't matter. you can't do there is. but they remembered that. now he's up with the red and he's going, and hissene his -- s hand starts to shake. and he's gaping for breath. he's choke like a dog. and for months he has been saying i had no path to victory. the bad news is a lot of people probably believed him and didn't go out to vote it's called suppressing the vote. suppressing the vote. that's what it's called. you love donald trump but you figure look, alice i'm not going to go out, darling, he can't win because i believe these people

when they say he has no path to victory. man, did we have a path to victory. so he puts down red for wisconsin. he puts down red for michigan. now i don't even need the rest of the states. they took all the glamour and growerrive away from pennsylvania. they should have called it hours earlier. and he goes, i'll never forget. ladies and gentlemen, there is no path to victory for hillary clinton. [cheers and applause] there is no path. there is no path.

incredible. and then he said, donald trump is the next president of the united states. [cheers and applause] it was an amazing evening. thank you. thank you. congratulations to you. they never gave pennsylvania that glamour of victory. they should have. because those people were so incredible. i was with them last night and said they took it away from you, folks. but pennsylvania and others came in. ended up with 306 and it could have even been more than that. it was an amazing year and they say the most historic ever, they say the most historic ever but you know what's more important

now, that we altogether that i and we altogether create jobs. that's what's next. we are going to do a great job. for years the jobs and wealth have been ripped out of our country. foreign powers have gotten rich bleeding america dry but that's all about to end folks, believe me it's going to end rapidly. the american worker is finally going to have a chance in the white house and it's going to be a champion for you. our economic agenda can be summed up in three very beautiful words, jobs, jobs, jobs. that's why we are going to lower our business tax rate from 35% down to 15% and you watch what happens.

we are going to bring it from the highest in the world to one of the lower rates in the world. maybe someday we will get it down to the lowest and you watch what's going to happen. it's also why we are going to eliminate job-killing regulations. [applause] and we are going to lift the restrictions on the production of american energy including shale, oil, natural gas and clean, clean coal. another critical element of our jobs plan is a historic 1 trillion-dollar investment in our very bad and crumbling infrastructure. it's time, folks, it's time. our bridges are deficient, our roads are in disrepair, our airports are like third world countries, our schools are a disaster. we are going to ask our country.

stein. we have no choice. it's time. i am asking congress to support the construction of new roads and bridges airports pummels and railways across the country and we will put people back to work in the process. it's going to be our people. it's time to help get americans off of welfare and back into the labor market, rebuilding this country with american hands by a american workers american workers. my administration will follow two simple rules. by american and higher american. [applause] at the center of this agenda is fixing are absolutely terrible trade deals. they are so bad that i have studied them. i am one of these people, i like reading figures can you believe it? you don't want to read them.
