>> being bullied about having an opinion, i don't like it. i have been a standup comedian for 30 years. i like to say what i think. there is a lot of these candidates i like. i put a checklist together of what i think -- of what i want for the people around me. and at one point trump said things that made sense to me. you want big government, take the government, you want small government. this change is remarkable. it's not perfect. i think he should take twitter lessons. trish: he has done well by it thus far. granted he has gotten himself into hot water along the way. but every single time he he mornings almost stronger.

>> he put together a cabinet that even naysayers had to say there are really smart people in this cabinet that are smart people, problem solvers. overall, it's a couple things to focus on with big change for us. >> were you fearful had hillary clinton brand-new elected, it would have been a continuity of what we already knew which wasn't working. >> i'm aware of the clintons. she is a capable and wonderful choice. i was more concerned about the people she brought with her. i was more comfortable with the people she brought with her. one thing always like -- he brought nothing in that's a good

and bad thing. that drain the swamp thing, i don't think that's a good idea. there are too many bodies buried there. give him a chance. the thing about it -- trish: you have got some fans. they like you, tip. they appreciate that you are willing to stick your neck out and be here. one of the few members of hollywood that will do that these days. i think but as a comedian. you must not like the p.c. stuff. i don't know how any comedian does. you thrive off being not p.c. >> it's subjective. to me the thing about words are, it's what you mean by the word. word matter, but what you mean by the words matter more. trish: tim, thanks so much.

we are waiting on donald trump. he will enter the ballroom any minute at the liberty ball. he talk about what the first 100 days are going to look like. there is a big party going on he where all over town. it's good to have you guy here. what a night. a big one. what do you think we are going to hear, brad? what do you think donald trump is going to say when he what's next? >> i think he will thank them for their support. he wouldn't be president without them. the people who are before the president tonight. the people who stood out in the rain and cold today, these are all people who extended blood, sweat and tears to make sure he

ascended to the presidency. they were with him in the beginning and they are with him tonight. the hard work already -- already started when he got back to the oval office and it will continue tomorrow. trish: he's ready, he's up to the task. he's already work away from mar-a-lago. what do you think we'll see from him first? >> he's made it clear about some of the immigration reform we discussed yesterday, trish. i think he will drive right into this tax and regulatory reform. the biggest thing i heard today from his speech. it's hard to describe because we are in a polarized era. but i thought he had a unified message laying out i'm the montana of the all the american people. this is for all the american people, this is about the american people. i thought there was a great line in there.

trish: donald trump surrounded by his family. the new president of the united states dancing to what many would say was a fitting tune. "i did it my way." you will not well from frank sinatra who did indeed do it his way. without a doubt. jamie colby is here. it's a wonderful tradition.

everything that today symbolizes. i know you cover a lot of history on this show. when you think about what it represents. the first dance is the first dance was done by george washington and martha washington. the minuet. but it goes way, way back. but not in washington and certainly not like this. and that family will be doing a heck of a lot of dancing tonight while we have the privilege to sit here and watch them soak up everything. as organized as everything has been, thank goodness they have been able to take their own. the obamas have been able to get a much-needed vacation. it's just minutes away from launching the third season of a show. viewers have reached out and contributed to. our fox business viewers.

go in there and try to get the work done to see people get back to healthcare, and traveling to 37 cities this year alone. the image of america is in need of >> the look by other countries. we may have last the respect we once had. that's what he talked about today. trish require' a new look for the one trish: it's a new look for the country. there are other countries bristling at that understandably. but why wouldn't you? don't you want to put yourself first? with that in mind, what do you anticipate on the military front? >> i think there will be a lot of nos before there will be yeses. i think he will take time and be circumspect about the thing that need to happen in this country.

americans have put a lot of faith in him. as i traveled the country during the campaign. this is a crowd that is so anticipating the appearance of this new president and his first lady to salute the troops. when i saw the first salute that he gave when he arrived, i know he will make the troops a priority. a 9/11 survivor. i want to thank fox business for putting me in this situation to thank so many of these men and women tonight. i have said this multiple times. the best part about my job is this front row to history. you get some goosebumps when you see it all happening in real-time with a front row seat. the greatest thing jamie and i get to do is we get to bring it to you. she does that as well on her show.

again he did everything his way. he took the traditional campaign level and put a it on fire. even with this inaugural speech today, it was one of those things that was concise, it was 16 minute long. it was have much a trump speech. we live in a polarized era. but i think trump can do something that will unify all americans. i it's called the pocketbook issue. if he can put americans back to work and pay the mort gains, i think you will see more american saying we like what this guy is doing. other thing that was refreshing to hear today? he said the word "radical islam." i'm thrilled that he said it and i think that will be one of his real he -- real emphasis in the

next three months. trish: certainly a robust tone. he has been robust in terms of the message he's giving to businesses themselves. on the one hand he's saying we want to make an environment that provide less in the way of regulations so we can grow our economy and we can be as great as we can be long you can be as great as you can be. but he's saying don't get any ideas about going to mexico for production or else 35% tar raf. >> i think the president is restoring patriotism to business. which is important. putting america first. making sure america is taken care of. a strong america helps to keep a more peaceful world. donald trump is pragmatic and

transagricultural. he will reach across the aisle and make deals. it doesn't come from washington and he said that today. trish: what do you mean by that? does it mean i'll check the labels on my clothes in the. i'm going to think about buying an american instead a german car? >> we need to make trade deals that are not one-sided. it feels only as good as it is for bought parties. america has gone the the short shrift on a lot of these deals. many of them have brand-new in place for decade. and he's telling people, before you close a plant, before you move people away, think about america, think about your country before you do that. america is a great place to do business. it was wa -- it once was and weo

that again. trish: we have some great people here and great opportunity that we can maximize. you think of the intellectual capital that we have here. you think about our workforce that we have here. the potential, ned, is incredible. >> it is incredible. i think to build off what brad said, one of the themes of trump's speech is america first. it's one of those things we don't have to apologize for who we are. we don't have to be ashamed of who we are. it has been in the recent era of the last administration we had our president going around and apologizing. trump is not going to be apologizing for who we are. i think if trump can be successful with some of the jobs, the economy, trade issues, he can take us to better height. there has never been a reason to be ashamed and he's making it clear.

we don't have to be ashamed. america first, america last. we can be proud of who we are because of what we have been able to accomplish and are going to accomplish in the future. trish trish: one of the things i was most struck by was his comment that he wanted to restore wealth and restore dreams. wealth and dreams. have we lost in the last 8 years as we have been going through this economic malaise and international malaise in terms of our standing in the world, have we lost some of that? >> we have. trish: how does he restore it? >> he restores it by giving people the opportunity they deserve. he talked about inner cities. why aren't these kids given the proper education to lift them up? why aren't we satisfied with the state of our urban decay. he will reach out to the cities and try and make that safer and better educated. and he's going to create environments where -- i wouldn't

be surprised if one of his main initiatives is to bring back detroit and challenge the auto companies who left there to come back. and give back to the people of detroit. they built you. these are the kind of challenges the president can use the bully pulpit. trish: that's what we need. >> it's a unifying message. as brad was saying, he was talking to not only the american workers who voted for him, but he was addressing the urban centers saying i want to be your president. i think he has a chance to do immigration and urban reform. trish trish: he can get a lot done potentially. thanks for joining me on what has been an incredibly historic day. i'm an optimist. i look at the glass half full every day. there is a lot he can do, there is a lot he will do, and we'll be covering every step of this
