washington were painfully on display as professional victim senator elizabeth warren tried to test senate rules until they snapped back and smacked her in the bottom. 367. coretta scott king wrote a letter opposing jeff sessions appointment to the bench. mitch mcconnell used an obscure senate role to silence the massachusetts senator. watch. >> they are mothers, daughters, sisters, fathers. sons and brothers. >> mr. president, mr. president. the nor is again is impugning

let's ask today's fleet footed party panel. nomiki ko nst. and tom shillue. who is playing who here? >> she is playing everybody because the press dutifully follows along. all america's newspapers said here is the letter that was strip from the record that you can all read. the letter refers to this guy down in alabama. they called him king registration or waste was. but they caught him with a santa claus size bag of votes. he was stuffing them in the mail. sessions didn't win that. but there was reason to look into this guy, what he was doing. they hid in the bushes and they

12:09 am
engagement is seriously overrated by the left. donald trump weighed in on an issue that drives libertarians crazy. civil asset forfeiture. listen to this from a meeting the president had with a group sheriffs. >> we have a state senator in texas, was talking about introducing legislation to require conviction before we can receive the forfeiture money. i told him the cartel would build a monument to him in mexico if he could get that passed. >> can we get his name and destroy his career? president trump may have been joking, but it is clear he agreed with the sheriff it should be okay with the government to seize the cash and property somebody only suspected of a crime, not somebody convicted. there may be no better example of big government gone crazy.
12:10 am
let's see what dr. ron paul has to say about this. so dr. paul, this is coming from some sheriffs in your neck of the woods. ed the rock wall county sheriff calling out the texas 8 lawmaker who wanted to put an end to civil asset forfeiture, what do you think about all this? >> i think he's endorsing theft. they are stealing stuff. they have no right to come because they happen to stop some automobile because they have cash in the car, they can take their money, then that person has to try to recoup it and get it or if there is drugs in the car. it's the worth -- the worst thing that can be done in civil asset forfeiture.
12:11 am
we are hopeful that obama would be better, but he wasn't a lot better until at the end when he did do some pardons on it. but it's ingrained. i can't understand why the politicians feel oh so obsessed as being tough on the war on drugs. kennedy: it came up during jeff sessions' confirmation hearing. but the future attorney general is not very good at all not on on the war on drugs and specifically on civil asset forfeiture. 84% of americans oppose the taking of money and property before conviction. you are not guilty of any crime, but you essentially have to pay to get your stuff back and money back, and there is no due process there. >> i think people aren't aware of this. i'm delighted you are talking about it. a lot of people couldn't realize
12:12 am
what's -- don't realize what's going on. they take your stuff and you might be totally innocent. it's so bizarre and un-american. it's such a shame the president jumped on the bandwagon and became rather sharp. but i think it cop from the basic assumption that is deeply in opposition to the libertarian principle that we ought to tell people who to wattth their mind and bodies because we need somebody to take care of us, and that's where it is from. a lot of people get tested because they say drugs are dangerous. kennedy: it seems as who we are clearly headed down that path if we go toward single payer insurance options. i don't want to get distracted because i think it's incredibly important.
12:13 am
i hope there are liberty-minded people within the administration to explain how wrong this is and how it violates the constitution on so many levels. and the federal government in 2014, seized $5 billion in cash and property from people suspected of crimes. when i say suspected. there was a burmese christian band that had all of their stuff taken because arresting officer didn't like the answer the drive gave when he questioned hip when the band was pulled over. >> the police departments get to keep the equipment and they keep the money. they sell the equipment and get the money and it's off the books. i can guarantee you out of those billions of stuff they take, there is probably a fair amount of corruption there. the principle is wrong, dealing

with the purpose they took it from. and then it's extended and they say we need to finance, we don't have enough equipment. they buy tanks and other things to further advance their s.w.a.t. team approach when they decide they might be smoking marijuana. so it is terrible that we have given up so easily on the basic principles of liberty and allowing people to make personal choices for themselves. coming up. those eagerly waiting for an obamacare replacement might not want to get their hopes up soon. what in the world is going on in

that's a huge problem. if you repeal obamacare without a replacement, the ripple effect could dangt entire u.s. economy maybe the reason they are not talking about it is because they may realize how hard it will be to fulfill the president's promise to give better healthcare at a lower cost. reporter: the republicans trying to come together, but it's not easy. kennedy: some republicans say don't worry about it. we have a plan. but bob corker, is he just a little bit bitter? is he worried? >> i think everyone is concerned and worried what's going to happen. i hear from people all the time on social media because they are worried. my wife had cancer. what happens to obamacare. but behind closed dooshs what
12:20 am
they are trying to do is final consensus and it's not easy. you know it's very complicated. the mandate and myriad of issues they are trying to tackle. they are going to put together a repeal bill that includes four elements of replacement. they will pack that repeal bill with replacement so it includes healthcare subsidy and medicaid reform. conservative what about block granting medicaid? that's not going to be in the bill, the individual mandate. block granting could be but there are other options they are considering and they are fighting it out. we are far from a done deal here. we have a long wayo go. but what is focused on for sure and certain now are the differences between republicans, obviously not the differences between democrats.

as soon as i left the hospital after a dvt blood clot, i sure had a lot to think about. what about the people i care about? ...including this little girl. and what if this happened again? i was given warfarin in the hospital, but wondered, was this the best treatment for me? so i asked my doctor. and he recommended eliquis. eliquis treats dvt and pe blood clots and reduces the risk of them happening again. yes, eliquis treats dvt and pe blood clots. eliquis also had significantly less major bleeding than the standard treatment. both made me turn around my thinking.
12:25 am
don't stop eliquis unless your doctor tells you to. eliquis can cause serious and in rare cases fatal bleeding. don't take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. if you had a spinal injection while on eliquis call your doctor right away if you have tingling, numbness, or muscle weakness. while taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily ...and it may take longer than usual for bleeding to stop. seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising. eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines. tell your doctor about all planned medical or dental procedures. eliquis treats dvt and pe blood clots. plus had less major bleeding. both made eliquis the right treatment for me. ask your doctor if switching to eliquis is right for you.

12:28 am
these lone wolf attacks. but that could change if they gain momentum, power and money. >> people shouldn't be under the mistaken coincidence that it's a matter of luck that we haven't had attacks on our soil outside the lone wolf attacks. it's the result of a great number of people, including our liaison partners and the yemeni government and the military working to disrupt these operations. far be it from me to say that the "new york times" in their rush to find fault with the trump administration may have returned this support. the foreign minister accumulation out and confirmed and said no, they are not stopping cooperation. they were simply talking about this raid on january 29 where we lost a navy seal, rhinoen. -- r.
12:29 am
kennedy: they don't want to be overrun by aqap either. is it the fact the u.s. government is going after the houthis or is it that yemen is on the list of band countries in this latest stalled executive order? >> the concern over the raid has nothing to do with the suspension of visas out of yemen among the 7 countries. that would be someone trying to draw a connection i don't believe is there. the yemeni government, it's an ongoing battle between the iranian-sponsored houthi rebels.
12:30 am
the biggest problem istles the complexity of the fight in yemen and the surrounding region. it's not just focused in yemen. we could win the battle in yemen and they will show up somewhere else. kennedy: you are making the case that we have no business in the middle east. no matter where it is, our alliances shift and become enemies. we are arming people who ultimately want to kill us and do us harm. >> are you putting words in my mouth, kennedy? i think you are putting words in my mouth. i'm saying the jihadists, our alliances are flexible and they shift and adopt and you work with each other. what i am saying is, you can defeat the enemy here and they pop up like cockroaches somewhere else. that's their habit. kennedy: there is no good answer
12:31 am
to that so let's stay the hell out there. >> i wouldn't agree with that. the coverage of this particular raid. part of problem is frank lit society -- we have become accustomed to thinking somehow that a risk-free military operation of this sort is what we should be expecting. the upon people who expect that are the only people not involved in the raids. everybody involved in planning these operations understand. kennedy: other experts come on the show and explain how what happened in yellen is far superior than the droning policies obama clung to. coming you have, the party panel is coming up.
