one way or another, gorsuch will be sworn in. if democrats filibuster, republicans can change the rules to eliminate the supermajority. but his confirmation be easy? >> i certainly hope so. judge gorsuch is a highly qualified nominee, a very clear tenure record on the bench is doing the job of the judge fairly in an evenhanded manner. there's no reason we should see a filibuster here because judge gorsuch should get plenty of those can be confirmed easily. unfortunately, the political environment may make that harder. nicole: tell us what you think the timing could be. how quickly could we see this confirmation? >> in an ideal world if all goes well, the judiciary committee could mark him as soon as the politics of the typically a couple weeks later they could go straight to the floor. he should be concerned before congress goes up for the april

recess, easter recess. lauren: what would be the democrats or the opposition biggest argument against him? >> feel that argument, they spent months looking at his record. they think it eat in favor of the corporations. that's totallyalse. plenty of cases where he's ruled in favor of the individual the employee and the like. this just doesn't stick because it's not true. nicole: what he think the positive and negative are? >> well, judge gorsuch is extremely well-qualified, good decent human being. i knew him as a lawyer at the law firm at the justice department and eventually as a judge. this is the guy who is the judges judge. he applies off fairly and evenly to people before him and doesn't want to be a politician. lauren: to expect to hear from judge gorsuch or will be sure mostly from the senators. they'll have these from senators

toughest questions covered today. >> look, the big questions out there or what kind of a judge will gorsuch be? will he hand it to the litigants before him and was a judicial philosophy? nicole: is often asked why he rules in favor of businesses and corporate interests. what was the answer to those questions be? >> will come if you look at his record over 2000 cases, the reality is he rules in favor of a lot of individuals and employees. case after case after case, involving black long or discrimination or harassed that, he's ruled in favor so the notion sometimes you can cherry pick three or four cases is just not accurate. nicole: interesting, it is asked the judge he admires, what do you think he might have an answer for that? >> i do want to get ahead of his answers at the hearing. there are a lot of judges, justices of the supreme court

were previously served in executive branch like judge gorsuch has. they represent models of what it means to go to the supreme court or go to an appellate court. he is the kind of judge you can leave his advocacy and politics behind and just be a professional, a judges judge. lauren: but he clerked for justice kennedy, no? >> justice white and kennedy. lauren: interesting. i haven't noticed a strong opposition against him. would you think that is valid? >> look, that is a fair point. i was up at the supreme court today at the nomination and i saw protesters carrying signs that said oppose and a blank spot where they can ride in the name of whoever the nominee was. it is really unfortunate we have been appointed the process. i am hopeful the senate will look past that approach and take a look at his record -- a fair look at his record. nicole: that doesn't have a lot
