overhaul the tax code and pay for infrastructure improvement. >> you will be tough at this point. it's funny, last week we were talking about everything was going so smoothly, that we were kind of -- at least i was thinking there's got to be some big down day and maybe it turns out there's going to be down week or maybe a few weeks. my premise is based. the rally from the time trump got elected until just a week or so ago was all built on him being able to get things done, change things. the failure of the health care bill to get any progress puts everything into jeopardy. that was just a single issue. you talk about infrastructure, which touches all 50 states, every senator or congressman and then tax reform, which touches every industry. you have to think what are the odds are that getting done.

if those don't get done, then your premise for the whole rally since trump got elected are in jeopardy. >> we came off a tough week. it is their worst week of 2017. we've seen the selling underway. what are your thoughts going forward? you use words like jeopardy. there's still hope for tax cuts and believe that donald trump is a great president. >> exactly. when did i become indicative nelly? let's just say there is all gloom and doom and we gave back the 2017 games. that takes us to 19.5 on the dow. if you say the whole trump riley based on that evaporates, that takes us down to 18.5, where we broke out thereabouts. but then the positive. you have to think, even though

things like this health care got stalled, he's going to be better for the economy. i truly do believe this then hillary clinton would've been. certainly better than obama. i don't see us dropping much below that get to 18.5 if we get there. i'm positive that he can get anything through, infrastructure , but but especially for tax reform, which i do think there will be some progress there. i still think we can have a pretty good 2017. i think we need a drop down now based on all the reaction and rhetoric, regroup and then maybe smooth sailing after mid-april or so. >> we got to leave it there. gary b. smith, kadina president and fox news contributor. nicole: michael euston, chief market analyst at cmc markets. good morning, michael. >> good morning.

trying to basically selling across the globe and worries now that health care didn't go through. what are the deals on trend going forward? some people are optimistic. your thoughts. >> cap, i think when you can't get an agreement on something like health care, where i think there was a broad consensus amongst republicans that it didn't really need reforming. if you can't get any consensus they are, really what are the prospects for tax reform? what are the prospects for patent reform and infrastructure spend. let's not forget the rally we've seen since mr. trump was elected in november was predicated on significant reform on things like obamacare, tax reform and banking reform. if you can't get -- if you can't get significant reform on something, it really brings republicans together than the likelihood of significant tax reform and that calls into

question the significance of any potential stimulus that market could be praising him. that's why you see yields coming up in the u.s. dollar coming up and also brought a commodity weakness. there is some doubt that some doubt setting in now about whether or not mr. trump can actually go forward with an ambitious plan. >> europe seen a reaction to all of this, too. the ftse 100 at a one-month low. bank stocks hit hard today. the u.s. dollar giving up gains for 2017. how closely are you watching the dollar? >> i'm watching the dollar very closely. the dollar index has fallen below the lowest levels this year to close in on levels last seen in november. further boost lower on the back of the lower yields we see it could have a significant drag on equity markets going forward.
