a little bit of jitters. mr. market perspective? >> i think investors are looking for repeal and replace to get behind this we can start tax reform. so that's the good news. you won't get as much in terms to the overall percentage in tax cuts than we would have had if he saved the money with repeal and replace. you will get to a quicker. instead of a 15% or 20% corporate tax rate to 20% you can get that accomplished by the august break. that impacts earnings and the economy this year. investors really weren't that engaged in repeal and replace. that wasn't there. lauren: which you call this a teflon market where it isn't sticking? yes, we've been down eight days in a row, but only over that time period. croissants and so putting it. come up at the dallas down modestly. >> i don't know if it's teflon, but the fundamentals remain strong.

when we look at earnings coming up, i think if you look at the economic data that's been better. that benefit the possibility of progrowth policies put in place this year, the market is nice. nicole: you're a believer. what sectors do you like since you seem optimistic? >> the financials for sure. we have the financial israeli touch everything that is progrowth policy. but its deregulation, tax reform, goes like repatriation and that's good for financials. the technology is agnostic. it has nothing to do with policy. the third inning as infrastructure and that helps industrials. if you think about those three sectors, what you want to avoid is those on surrogates. many go back over the last couple weeks. the rising interest rate you want to avoid that.

border just syntax. i don't think that will be in that package because they want to get a win. august is so much for the fall budget battle fall budget battles that may be more health care reform battles in the fall. lauren: what about planned parenthood? >> i don't and that's going to be in there. that comes up in the supplemental budget. i think what they want to do is get through the april deadline without a government shut down. that's bad for republicans if they fail in the health care bill in the government shutdown. i don't think they will fight. the budget sites will happen in the fall when they start looking at 2018. true to her talking about growth projections. how do you get anywhere near those numbers? >> i think a tax cut will be part of that. they are relying on good growth in the economy already. good fundamentals and corporate earnings that the tax cut will be part of that.

but it's a heavy lift. we are talking about an economy growing at 2% or less to get to about 3% is a big lift. it's going to take more. lauren: not to be a debbie downer, but you look at factions of the republican party and then elected democrat showed this amazing unity. how do they work to get something done? >> does not like the idea about cutting rates for businesses. i think i'm infrastructure you're going to find some guy in there. that's right in the horsetrading if you want to go along with us and tax reform. you could see something there. i think his job is to reach out to the freedom caucus. i think he's going to do that. he will stay focused on a tax bill that both of those sides

they have a 3% to 5% pullback. we have not one of five months of that's normal. this administration is trying to get things done in him a well get that done before the august break it that's important because it affects 2018 earnings. if we can get something done at the corporate tax rate of 25% is in deregulation and start talking about infrastructure, i think the 2018 s&p 500 earnings could be about 10% too low, which means stocks are pretty fairly valued but very attractively valued into next year. it will take some work and see how the progress goes through the market is to get every day, the more the market can buy into the fact things are better next year than this year. nicole: you told us he likes financials, infrastructure and technology. a little pullback would be okay. we have not had anything big. i'm sure a lot of people don't want a big hole that. i have a client died on the

they want the win to move onto other priorities. nicole: that about the site of the government spending bill. a dozen legislative work days before april 28. the two-week recess next month. but they avoid the government shutdown? >> neither party can be seen for government shutdown. you don't win when you seem to be responsible. especially republicans. i don't think of them don't think of them make a big fight about this. they will put a lot of the so-called poison pieces of legislation into this in order to stalin. they've been sitting tax reform is our priority. it could be a big loss for republicans if they are seen as the one chart in the government. lauren: the next battle is raising the debt limit. >> yeah, that's a little bit later this fall. it's unlikely republics wi derail the centerpiece. they need to win this year because they will do things next year. if you don't get tax reform, and makes it hard to pursue anything

in 2018. they will try to focus -- is going to get more involved. we want to get tax reform done. it would be like a laser when it gets tax reform. nicole: do you think is doing a good job? to think some of us will go through? >> you can learn. the health care process was eye-opening. he saw how involved he needs to be. much more focused committee on administration is talking that way. i think he's learning. he wants to get this done and that will help him get it done by the end of the year. lauren: is any government is difficult especially with factions in your own party. >> even when your party is in control of the house and senate. he said he's learned something. that's good and so you'll take that forward as they think about tax reform. he has to stay focused. he saw that with the last bill. he will bring to bear and tax reform. nicole: macro economics.
