regardless of what the president does it policies on a good track right now. consumer staples a little more defensive. after the president health care bill fell through on friday, had at least some defensive exposure makes some sense. lauren: what is your take on energy, rob? a great performer. down by 7%. what's your take on the rest of the year? opec will extend cuts and the like. when you think? >> lauren, i'm underweight the energy space right now for a number of reasons. there doesn't seem to be a lot of visible earnings growth in the states. also, commodities in general if some of the shine comes off a truck policies. commodities in general including the energy space would probably suffer. lea: let's talk about should market a dsp should overweight small-cap stocks versus large. do you think small-cap stocks have more room to run?

>> well, i think the theme here is the dollar is going to continue to rise. when that happens, that really hurts the big cap u.s. multinationals. it hurts their earnings. conversely, that favors small cap stocks. i would say they certainly have some room to run here. lauren: the final look at gdp for the fourth quarter. i know this is during president obama said for the most part. we are expecting 2% growth. how do you get the economy to grow to 3% 4% sustained pace? i know there's no answer to the question that's easy. >> hopefully they're still optimism that deregulation and tax reform is going to help provide a foundation for that to happen. 4% may be unrealistic. yeah, we need to start getting closer to three.

that's for sure. hopefully policy changes will move us in that direction. trade to facebook on amazon, netflix and google, those all had record margin up sharply year to date. you mentioned you like a stocks. do you expect them to continue to perform? >> well, those in particular -- some of them are starting to reach no-space as far as their ratios go. ceainly it don't mean that in a diversified purple it would make sense. in general, i feel pretty positive about technology space. lauren: tack on a financials and staples. why do i keep feeling this is a market that only want to go up? >> we are up 5% already this year in my project would be up only 10. i think we are going to see a kind of a sideways market here before too long. >> will see how those
