we will get tax reform done. it'll be sweeping. it'll be significant and it will create a lot of economic growth. >> at a joint press conference with italy's prime minister paolo genotiloni that would allow for a compromise of repeal of obamacare. we have a chance of getting it soon. i would like to say next week but i believe we will get it and whether it's next week or shortly thereafter, as far as keeping the government open, i think we want to keep the government open, don't you agree? i think we will get both. >> but the punish is on. cok has to pass legislation next week to keep the government funded. without a deal, well, hitting what they call the debt ceiling could trump the trump agenda. back to you. lauren: adam shapiro, back to you. president trump expect today sign new executive orderers today to reduce financial as well as tax regulations.

nicole: joining us to talk about carter, partner at maslansky + partners. lee: good morning. nicole: steve mnuchin saying, health care, the no health care doesn't matter, tax reform is coming soon, your thoughts? lee: i think the markets have sigh of relief. the way things have been going, not seeing any big wins happening have made people nervous and hearing that reassurance from the secretary treasury is really important. way he's framing it and talking about reforms and talking about the progrowth reforms that are coming down, i think those are great things that are happening. the question i have is whether or not they're going to say we are going to do the proform reform and break it to bite-size jumps so they can get wins throughout.

if they package it all together -- they should try to do bits and pieces so by the end of the year we can have the whole thing done. lauren: can tax cut wills grow the economy so much that you don't need to figure out ways to bring in more revenue with something like border adjustment tax. lee: fiscal conservatives are saying we need to do something to make that happen. you know what, it can happen with the growth it's going to happen. now, i think that the border adjustment tax is going to be dead on arrival. if i were to advise them and i'm not right now i would say leave that to the side but what we need to do is get individual tax cuts done and corporate tax cuts where nobody should disagree with where this is going to happen. nicole: to your point the bits and the bites, how about this idea that some analysts are suggesting that they do just the

corporate taxes now and put off the individual taxes till later? lee: i have no problem separating things out but what i think they need to be doing is selling the whole thing. one of the mistakes with health care is they didn't sell the pkage, they didn't sell what was going to happen. so i think if they go out there and they're talking about the progrowth tax reform, talk about the benefits of each individuals that they're going to be doing, separate them out, i'm fine with that. i think that the markets would be as well and so would the voter, people want to see progress, they want to see thicks -- things happening. nicole: how optimistic are you? >> i'm pretty optimistic. nicole: thank you for joining us and feeling optimistic about this. lee: thank you. lauren: north korea plans to strike preemptive strike this comes after rex tillerson is

this attack may, you know n a way benefit her but, i mean, that remains to be seen. nicole: let's talk about the other candidates as well. that would be the easy choice, your thoughts? >> sure. i think definitely, you know, it does seem to indicate that he is positioning himself as an outsider, business guy, a lot of his support, he's able to fill these really stadiums and host really large rallies, i think just -- it's very interesting to see the mirror image of trump in several different fractures. lauren: there's a possibility, bri, that favor leaving the european union going against on may runoff, what does that mean to the future and the future of the eu itself? >> it's possible that several of

party needs to get much better at that and something they historically struggled with particularly with health care and hopefully they get this right this time around. nicole: do you think that will fly with the gop? [laughter] >> i think at this point, you know, the republican party needs to figure out what their priorities are. ic that there are rumors that they are going to shut out the freedom caucus and they're not going to listen to the more conservative members of congress and i think if they decide to do that that will show that they did not learn the mistake earlier this year, the disastrous health care bill that they tried to ran through everyone's throats. i think at this point it's very clear that the more conservative section of congress really need to be listened to because i think that they more than anyone understand the struggles of the american people who are currently living under the health care system that we have and i think it's very clear that

they need to be listened to and that their voices need to be heard and intelg rated in whatever kind of compromising deal is going forward. lauren: white house wants more money for defense, border wall, border enforcement. how does that turn out? >> we will have to wait and see, two things that aren't a surprise. we know that donald trump has we wanted to push for more money and wanting to push for funding for this border wall and i think democrats kind of posturing themselves or acting in the way that they're so surprised by this or so shocked by this that this is new news is complete bunk and i think that they should be willing to show -- work with republicans and work with donald trump and i think a good way to do that would be to, you know, oh him on that issue. lauren: brie payton, thank you so much for your time. >> thank you. nicole: we will see what actually happens first. north korea threatens to launch a preemptive strike that would

lauren: corporate earning season continue to go roll on. the company's first quarter results due out before the open. they are due to fall out from a year ago. ge is a dow component and has been under pressure to cut costs and boost profits. we are also going to hear from honeywell, analysts looking for the conglomerate to post slightly lower revenue. keep an eye on visa shares this morning. quarterly-adjusted profit, we will watch it this morning too. nicole: tesla has announced biggest recall ever. 53,000 model s and model x vehicles may have a problem with the parking brake. the lek lick parking braking between february and october 2016 may contain a small gear that could have been manufactured improperly. the parking brake may not release properly and tesla says

round vote lee carter is here, pollster, president and partner at maslansky + partners, thank you for joining with us. i wanted to talk, first of all, you had one candidate in particular, francoispillon saying we should suspend, of course, le pen so tough on immigration, your thoughts on the quick reaction they had to do on this attack? lee: i think they showed leadership the way they were able to think quickly and react. a lot of people said he had that reaction in particular because he was losing and in the middle of controversy and said let's put it off and hopefully we can rebound. it's looking like that it is la pen and macron. if you look at where we are right now. it is neck and neck, 23% for la pen and 24% for macron, they are the ones going forward. it is, that is a statistical

dead heat but the thing that's most important is how strong is support is. 85% of folks say that are going to vote for la pen while only 74% of folks that are voting for macron saying they are not certain they are going to vote for him. he has much softer support. very similar to what we saw in the election here where hillary support was not as strong as donald trump's and i think that's going to play out significantly and people may be surprised out. -- lauren: by the end of the year between 10 and 20%, what's the likelihood of that happened specially after the terror attacks? lee: it's still likely that he's going to win and when you put them head to head, 65% for him and 35% for her, however, one in three people are still undecided so anything could happen. now, i also think that part of them -- what the markets are responding to and everybody is saying, like c -- macron gives
