5:02 am
passage, the bill passing by the narrowist of margin. 41 days prior when they pulled plan from initial vote but several fictions and convinces from the president sealed the deal of 8 billion-dollars to high-risk pools. the president celebrating biggest legislative while joking about the top republican in the house. >> how am i doing? hey, i'm president? could you believe it. i was joking, for the last week i have heard paul ryan doesn't have it, it's not working with paul ryan, he's going to get rid of paul ryan and then today i heard paul ryan is a genius. blake: heavy-lift asking hardly over. now heads over to senate where many skeptical republicans look to take a scapple to the measure.
5:03 am
nicole: democrats sang the nah, nah, song good-bye. and hillary clinton tweeting, quote, a shameful failure of policy and morality by gop today, fight back on behalf of the millions of families will be hurt by their actions. lauren: more on the healthcare debate political analyst kirsten haglund. what are the major differences between this bill and obamacare? >> three major things, it repeals the mandate, individuals by insurance as well as the employer mandate that they provide insurance. there's lots of differences with that. also it replaces the taxes and subsidies op of obamacare with tax credits varying on age. the other one is another major sticking point in the senate,
5:04 am
huge rollback of medicaid expansion. this is a three main differences. nicole: if you're an individual at home, what's their to celebrate, what is it really at home that you like about that in. >> well, the goal of the whole bill is to bring premium costs down. that's something that americans can celebrate but not quite yet because this is the house bill and there will be revisions there. lauren: what changes can you expect, what are the sticking points in the senate? >> there's a slimmer voter, only about two votes and you have a lot of republican senators in state with medicaid expansion was huge for that state and millions more were covered because of that specifically. that's groining to be the major debating point and identical bill has to pass both the house and senate in order to go to president trump's debt.
5:05 am
nicole: they were saying that was backyards that they did it without the cbo. >> right. nicole: i want to ask about preexisting condition. how does this affect people with preexisting condition, it's a catch or no in. >> before obamacare, only 3 and a half percent of people were too sick in order to qualify for coverage. this is something that tends to be one of those things that is overdramatize, a lot of employers already cover these people and said $8 billion aside to help cover those with preexisting conditions, maybe not enough but they perhaps might get more. it's a start more sure. nicole: president trump meeting with australia prime minister malcolm turnbull. the two leaders met aboard the decommission aircraft carrier to mark the 75th anniversary of the battle of the coral sea, the
5:06 am
battle was a turning point in world war ii. >> in those pacific waters we forged iron bonds between our two countries, few peoples in the world share ties in history, affection and culture like the americans and the australians. nicole: it was the president's first visit to hometown of new york since he took office. lauren: in france the ken -- centrist emmanuel macron leads. ashley webster live in france with details. ashley: we are about three hours north of paris, lauren. this is marine la pen country. this is where she began her political career. let me tell you, she's going to need all the support she can get because the latest poll show that macron has the lead of 62%
5:07 am
for 38%, in fact, he's expanded that lead since that very contentious live debate. today the candidates macron is in the south of france meanwhile we have marine la pen talking with police trade unions, so this is their last day of campaigning, they have until midnight tonight and then that is it. this is an area that became quite synonomus. people shouting by and shouting viva la pen. no doubt this is her town. now we are seeing more migrants come back into the area and certainly the migration issue very important key issue in this race. interestingly, though, guys, there's an estimate now that perhaps 25% of the french voting public will abstain from voting,
5:08 am
it could be the lowest of turnout since 1969 for presidential election. question is who benefits on that, probably marine la pen. yes, macron leads in the poll but a lot can change once ballots begin to be counted on sunday evening. we are here in a town much like detroit of west virginia and kentucky, it's been ignored by the government both in paris and in brussels and that is why marine la pen is the favorite candidate here but will she get the broad support she needs to win, we will find out. lauren: ashley, thank you. make sure you tune sunday of special coverage of french election with lou dobbs 7:00 p.m. eastern sunday night on the fox business network. nicole: house voted to impose new sanctions on north korea, sanctions target north korea
5:09 am
shipping industry and use of slave labor, they come at a time of heightened tensions of north korea ballistic missile program, prohibit from operating in american waters or docking at u.s. ports. goods produced by north korea forced labor would be also prohibited from entering the united states. let's get you caught up on the global market action overnight that we are seeing overnight. begin in asia right now, take a look. it's a holiday there, we have to kospi and the nikkei close there in japan, hong kong hang seng, that was down 3 quarters of 1% as was the shanghai composite in china. lauren: flip it over to europe. trading mix. ftse up 6 points in london, dax in germany is down 40. so it's a mixed bag, but, of course, stocks there have done well pricing in france at least, the expectation although we can be wrong that emmanuel macron will win.
5:10 am
nicole: dow futures right now down 9. s&p futures up a half of 1 point. nasdaq futures not even 1 point, it show it is wait and see mode. we will also hear from fed chair janet yellen who will be seeking a women's event at university. lauren: it's been an ugly week for energy. oil prices below $45, falling 5% and giving up their entire gains for the year. still down this morning. 45.51 a barrel. nicole: uber reportedly being crimely investigated by the justice department over a software tool used by the drivers that helped them to evade local regulators. software known as gray ball and it helped uber circumvent law enforcement agencies that were trying to clamp down on services in certain areas where it was not permitted. the investigation reportedly is
5:11 am
looking at into how some of the uber's drivers actually used the software. lauren: we have news jobs numbers coming out later this morning. economists are predicting 185,000 jobs, big improvement from 98,000 that we saw in march. unemployment rate expected to rise 4.6% from 4.5%. the data could help fed whether to raise interest rates in june. be sure to watch maria bartiromo for a complete coverage of job's report starting at 8:00 o'clock this morning right here on fox business network and it would be the third's job report under president trump. nicole: 86-year-old buffet and munger will answer five hours of questions tomorrow. our own liz claman will be at the meeting today and cover the release of berkshire's earnings,
5:12 am
make sure to stay this weekend of live update from omaha. you can invest like buffet, on monday the interview with the billionaires, buffet and bill gates. lauren: we will solidify the federal reserve's june rate hike, whether he ask wealth adviser. you're watching fbn:am, first look at morning markets and breaking news at bp's cooper river plant, employees take safety personally -

5:15 am
nicole: good morning, 5:15 a.m. right here in new york. let's get you caught up on what's happening now. president trump celebrating a victory on health care, gave new life the legislation to repeal obamacare. but the bill faces uncertain prospects in the senate where several republicans have already voiced concerns. federal prosecutors have begun a criminal investigation into uber, investigators are looking into the company's use of software that allegedly help the drivers to avoid local regulators, uber said that it has stopped using the program that was called gray ball after it was exposed in media reports. and today is job's friday economists are predicting
5:16 am
185,000 new jobs were created last month, that would be a big jump from the 98,000 in march, the unemployment rate expected to rise to 4.6% from 4.5% in march, the data could help the fed decide whether to raise the interest rates in june. take a look a look at u.s. stock market futures right now, dow fusser -- futures down 7. that's what's happening now. lauren: waiting on the job's data, the dow, nasdaq are heading to final session of the week, higher for the week. what do investors need to know, ceo of bonson group, great to see you. >> good to be here. i think it's going to be reasonably strong and not fed what reaction would be one way or the other. it's robust and moving in the right direction but not quite
5:17 am
getting the same jump it will hopefully when fiscal reform happens. nicole: the fed stays on track to two rate hikes? >> two. nicole: how about 75,000, you think they would rush and raise in june? >> that number probably would sway them, based on the number that we got is highly unlikely to happen. lauren: do you expect as donald trump as president particularly in the manufacturing sector that we should be seeing strongers a. >> in terms of the job's number, the bigger issue is wage growth. there was low unemployment number but lower paying jobs that were showing up in the numbers. if the labor participation force would increase would raise number even though it's a
5:18 am
positive thing for the economy, ultimate a gdp is how president trump will be judged by economic performance. a lot of his manufacturing -- nicole: the latest wasn't that great. we have high hopes going forward. your thoughts on the main street versus wall street. what do you tell people of main street as they see wall street near at record highs? >> i've always believed that that dichotomy is unfair. nicole: what do you tell them? >> the stock market has a bigger impact on main street than people realize as well but ultimately wage growth is the true main street figure, are people making more money in day-to-day jobs, i think what fiscal reform will do. i'm not a big a fan for the infrastructure package, but i think that this tax reform bill they put out is extremely democra, the --democratized and
5:19 am
not only legislatively but poking at big business to be able to be more friendly in that endeavor. lauren: david bunson, thank you. nicole: the feud between stephen colbert, that may not be over, the fcc may get involved. game three loaded with technicals and, the pushing and shoving, what a game. in hockey the rangers put on a skating clinic as they try to each the semifinal series between the senators. wait till you see what they're up to.

stephen colbert, those who want to protest the show, they're free to do that but no action on the part of the fcc. >> if we get complaints we will take them seriously and evaluate the facts and make appropriate decision. lauren: as of now comment has received 5 million views. nicole: things really heated up in the second quarter, knocked down kelly with a hard -- comes running back to payback. the players from both benches get into this act, has to be held back, he's ejected from the game, back to the basketball, third quarter finds marquee, jam and the wizards are going to win
5:25 am
it and they take it, taking game 3, 116-89. warriors up 11. you can see where this is going because third quarter puts in that lay-up. plus the foul, the warriors up 14. i like that. they go onto win 114-104. the 2-0 series lead. hockey fans waving towels, rangers on the break. first, you can watch it again, beautiful. anderson, the rangers go onto win 4-1 rand now they tie up the series at 2 games apiece. let's two rangers.
5:26 am
he gets some defensive help from harper. the third inning and then the nationals two onto win that one 4-2. lauren: coming up a major victory for president and gop as it passing the health care bill. >> this is a repeal and replace of obamacare, make no mistake about it. lauren: what's next to the bill as it head to the senate? uber under investigation. on the final day of trading week, job's friday. we have a modest lost for the dow futures of 12 points. s&p up just a bit. we are waiting on the data. you're watching fbn:am, first look at morning markets and breaking news if you have afib not caused by a heart valve problem,
5:27 am
and you're taking warfarin, you have the choice of a different kind of blood thinner. pradaxa helps stop blood cells from pooling in the heart, forming a clot which can cause a stroke in the brain. in a clinical study, pradaxa was better than warfarin at reducing stroke risk. and in the rare case of an emergency situation, when seconds matter, there's the only fda-approved reversal treatment made for people taking pradaxa that helps you clot normally again. don't take pradaxa if you've had a heart valve replacement or have abnormal bleeding. don't stop taking pradaxa without talking to your doctor, as stopping increases your risk of stroke or blood clots. tell your doctor before any planned medical or dental procedure, or before stopping pradaxa. pradaxa can cause serious, but rarely fatal bleeding. seek immediate medical help with signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising. pradaxa may increase your bleeding risk if you're 75

nicole: breaking news this morning, president trump score ago u major victory as the house vote to repeal and replace obamacare by the skin of their teeth 2217 to 213 but there's still a long road ahead as the bill heads to the senate. lauren: tgif, did job growth jump in april? it could give us clues as to whether interest rates will go up. our week for the dow, nasdaq futures not even up 1 point each. nicole: in china shanghai

composite index, that finished down three quarters of 1%. lauren: uber under criminal investigation for using software to avoid law enforcement in areas not yet licensed to operate. we will have the latest in the investigation. nicole: in sports it's time to saddle up for 143rd kentucky derby. we will have a live report from churchill this morning with all you need to know about tomorrow's big race. lauren: most exciting two minutes in supports. happy cinco de mayo. nicole: president donald trump held a rose garden event after the passage and blake berman has all the details. blake: in a rose garden ceremony reveling in the passage of the american health care act, 217 to
5:32 am
213, 41 days prior when republicans had pushed initial plan from a floor vote but several convincing from the president sealed the deal by last-minute infusion of $8 billion to high-risk pools. the president celebrating his big e legislative defeat today while also joking about the top republican in the house. >> how am i doing? i'm president. hey, i'm president. [applause] >> could you believe it? i was joking, you know, paul, for the last week i heard paul ryan doesn't have it, it's not working with paul ryan, today i heard paul ryan is a genius. blake: heavy lifting is hardly over. it heads to senate where many skeptical republicans look to take a scalpel to the measure. lauren: dozens of democrats sang the 1969nah, nah, nah.
5:33 am
they were saying republicans would lose midterm elections, listen in. that doesn't end there. hillary clinton tweeting a shameful failure of policy and morality by gop today. fight back on behalf of the millions of families that will be hurt by their actions. nicole: more on the healthcare debate, political analysts kristen haglund. it's pretty amazing and have to go through the senate. paul ryan said he worked with four administrations and never before has he seen it coming together the way donald trump and mike pence have done this. can they do it for the senate? >> that's the big thing to focus on. this is a huge victory for the republican party. they haven't had the best 100 days as a governing majority, right, and this show that they could actually govern and bring the various sections of their
5:34 am
parties together. but the same kind of division that is we saw on the house we are also seeing in the senate between more conservative members as well as those more centrist. lauren: what do you make of the democrats' reaction, joe biden, he tweeted, he said it was a day of shame in yesterday, shame, morality, is this too far in. >> signaling to their liberal base and joe biden as many people have noted potentially considering a 2020 run and hillary needs to stop venting, you know, and grieving her loss in public. but it's childish, it's unfortunate, you know what the republicans do have to worry about, though, they complain so much abo the democrats really forcing through obamacare with just their own majority and they're kind of teetering on doing the same thing. they need to get a coalition of outside organizers together as well for the senate version that supports, doctor groups.
5:35 am
it'll look different than it looks right now. this is just the starter. i think the senate is going to go a long way in try to bring together and at the end of the day the news has to be good from outside organizations so the american people can support it and they won't lose in 2018. nicole: thed -- the idea to lower premiums for americans. >> yeah. lauren: saudi arabia, israel and then rome. >> these visits will take place ahead of the nato g7 meetings and will begin with a truly historic gathering in saudi arabia with leaders from all across the muslim world. lauren: that meeting is aimed at fighting extremism. one of the biggest problems we face today.
5:36 am
nicole: centrist emmanuel macron leading ahead of sunday's runoff of french election. we have ashley webster and the details there and we know that macron is leading and continues to do so, will people go to the polls, ashley? ashley: well, that's the big question. good question, we are, indeed, in the city of three hours north of paris. this is very strong marine la pen country. she began her political career here. she has a strong base. she actually represents this region in the european parliament. so definitely we are in la pen country but as you say the polls have emmanuel macron well ahead. the last poll 62% to 38%. that is even wider than before that very contentious live tv debate a couple of nights ago. another interesting statistic maybe as many as 25% of the voters will vote for no one, they call it a white vote, in
5:37 am
other words, they are not going to vote for either candidate. they don't like them. so how does that impact the outcome, well, if voter turn out is low and it could be the lowest since 1969 in a national election in france, that could indeed help marine la pen. both candidates today, this is the last day of campaigning, they have until midnight france time oh to make their point, macron in the south of france, la pen talking to a police trade union in paris today but then it's all over and they go to the polls on sunday. it's interesting the port city of calei is really what donald trump would have said to the people in detroit is what la pen is saying to the people here. that's why we need to change the policy and make no mistake, if marine la pen wins this event, this election presidents the become of france, it will be a major shock wave possibly the very end of the european union.
5:38 am
so we know that the german chancellor angela merkel, the head of the european commission, all of them keeping their fingers cross that marine la pen does not win. but let's see what happens sunday but there's a lot at stake no doubt about it, guys. nicole: ashley webster in france, another vote in the uk a month later, lots to watch in europe. make sure to tune in right here on sunday's special coverage of this french election. lou dobbs 7:00 p.m. eastern time right here on the fox business network. lauren: house vote today impose new sanctions on north korea, the sanctions target north korea's shipping industry and use of slave labor. they come time of intentions. goods produced by north korea's force labor would be prohibited from entering the united states.
5:39 am
nicole: nikkei and kospi closed. hong kong hang seng and shanghai composite in china both finished down 3 quarters of 1%. lauren: european stocks are trading mixed at the moment. cac in paris down 8 and dax down 46. nicole: u.s. stock market futures are in a wait and see mode. today is the job's report. right now mixed bag. s&p futures up a half of 1 point. so definitely waiting for this job's report. lauren: it's been a tough week for both oil and gold and commodities, they both up this hour. it's up 17 cents. gold is up $6 to 12.34 raw troy -- a troy ounce. nicole: uber criminally being investigated. software known as gray ball and helps you circumvent law
5:40 am
enforcement agencies that's were trying to clamp down in services in areas where it was not permitted to operate. the investigation is reportedly looking into how uber used that software. lauren: another airline incident. a couple traveling from hawaii with two toddlers say they were kicked off overbooked flight because they had 2-year-old son in a seat purchased for their teenage son who took another flight. >> then they can remove me off of the plane. yeah, that's fine. okay. so my -- my kids are going to what? lauren: threatened with jail and foster care. were removed from the plane and told they were on their own. delta did later apologize for the incident. they refunded the price of their tickets and gave them additional
5:41 am
compensation and flew to destination with a different flight. nicole: one of the most powerful people on wall street was interviewed by our own maria bartiromo on "wall street week". freeman discussed the risk of high corporate taxes to the u.s. economy. >> we are incredibly fortunate as an economy that we are the place that the whole world goes to look at as the beacon of great capital markets and frankly great economy but we also tax our companies more than almost any other country in the world so we really are not encouraging businessing to grow and expand and over time that's going to make it so we diminish our role in the global economy. nicole: you can see more of maria bartiromo's interview with ms. friedman right here on the fox business network. lauren: did job growth bounce

lauren: good morning and happy friday, president trump is celebrating a victory on health care. the house yesterday gave new life to legislation to repeal obamacare but the bill faces uncertain prospects in the senate where several republican senators have already voiced concerns about it. federal prosecutors have begun criminal investigation into uber, looking into the company's use of software that allegedly help drivers avoid local regulators. uber said it stopped using the program gray ball after exposed and media reports and today it's job's day, economists are predicting that 185,000 new jobs were created in april, that would be a big jump from the
5:46 am
disappointing 98,000 that we saw in march. as for the unemployment rate, that's expected to rise 4.6% from 4 and a half percent. the data can help the fed whether to raise interest rates when they meet again in june. the market not reacting right now. dow futures are down 13 points, holding onto 10-point gain on the week, nasdaq futures completely unchanged ahead of the job's data. nicole: well, the dow industrials, s&p 500 and the nasdaq head in today's session slightly higher for the week. so what do investors need to know ahead of the opening bell in we have david founder and ceo of the bonson group, what are your expectations? we have the job's report, does the labor force grow, what are you looking for in this report, what would be good? >> what would be good is something like goldy-lockish,
5:47 am
not so strong that it may accelerate tightening. that's not expected. that's what the market would most love to see. lauren: what are your clients concerned about now? >> the biggest question that we are running into is the market overheated based on where this trumpian policy framework is and where do we want to be positioned. it's a tricky place to be because the bond market scares people, rates are so low, they are worried about moving higher and yet with equities, there's just fear that maybe things are a bit expensive so we just have to tell people to be selective. they don't want to buy the whole market. we think the energy sector is very underpriced and oil dropping 5%, it feeds the maco fear that it's a dangerous time to be in energy. i can't for the life of me understand why people couldn't see sweet spot as trumpian policy.
5:48 am
he can deregulate across the space and ultimately the pipeline companies are so underserved and it's a great opportunity. nicole: let's name some names. so name some names of -- you have a billion dollars under management, roughly. what are you telling the clients specifically to invest in in. >> we really like right now the asset managers and finance, black stone, a company like investco that are not balance sheet sensitive like the banks are, a lot of free cash flow and haven't moved up nearly as much as the other financial companies. on the energy side, we like really high quality mlp, enterprise products is one, m bridge is one, they announced dividend increase yesterday that offer growing cash flow. oil can be 45 or 55, it really shouldn't make a difference, they keep pumping out oil,
5:49 am
natural gas, clients receive very nice dividends. lauren: call for 30 earlier. nicole: all right, david, that you think for joining us. sounding positive. lauren: coming up. >> you're in the great game now and the great game is terrifying. lauren: why are game of thrones fans getting so excited after hbo announced a new plan? we are going to tell you about it in time to 143rd running of kentucky derby, janice dean is live with a really big hat. all you need to know for tomorrow's big race, you're watching fbn:am, first look at morning markets and breaking news.

built for security. built for business. >> we can overthrow an empire. >> you're in a great game now and the great game is terrifying. lauren: game of thrones has just two seasons left. hbo said there's no set timetables for the projects and martin would be involved in writing the scripts, game of thrones opens seventh episode -- seventh season july 16, there will be just one more season after that. nicole: all right, after the game of thrones which has the two seasons left, we continue to watch the markets right now. we see dow futures are to the
5:54 am
downside, well, you know what else is going on, time to saddle up and get ready, janice dean live this morning right from churchill downs. lauren: hi, janice. janice: good morning, ladies, hi. this is going to be a very wet derby and i have got the official program in my hands, that's happening today, the derby is happening tomorrow, we have horses that are on the track right now. we just saw one of the horses that is favored to dream, always dreaming. the three favorite horses mccrack and always dreaming and classic empire and you can bet today on friday so there are the derby dreams, top picks to win, classic empire 4 to 1, always dreaming, this is the first year in a number of years where there's no big favorite so everyone is sort of -- every horse has good chance to win.
5:55 am
there's a horse out here that meteorologists are very excited about which is called thunder snow. i can't wait to see thunder snow. the thing what's happening right now in back of me is the rain, a lot of rainfall so we have what is kind of like a tropical system bringing heavy downpours not only for kentucky but across the ohio valley into the northeast. it's kind of a rough day for travelers. you can see the radar and future radar is going to have showers lingering into the derby but tomorrow looks like a much better day. we are still going to have rain in forecast but peeks of sunshine. horses have to be good at running in the mud. that's what they are doing right now. they call it a mudder, that's exactly what's going to happen here at the kentucky derby tomorrow. now, today is the oaks, people are urged to wear pink hats and their pink coats and pink dresses, the lilies, it's the
5:56 am
race of the lilies, awareness to breast cancer. exciting day at the racetrack, i had never been here before so it's definitely a bucket list. i'm going to be placing my bets. we will be here tomorrow as well for the derby, so exciting. rain or shine, thunderstorm, we will be here. nicole: you look beautiful in pink hat. janice: thank you. lauren: coming up, first it was mud-covered jeans and then a sweety -- sweaty t-shirt, how much is it going to cost you? you're watching fbn:am
5:59 am
nicole: come on, you thought you had seen the last of the worn and torn trend? whopping price of $425, it's behind the design and features the battered leather sneakers held together by staples giving the shoe the ultimate fall to go pieces look. i don't know if you want those or consider investing in stock for the long-term. lauren: it looks like a dog got into those sneakers, have a

happy cinco de mayo. nicole: mornings with maria beginning right now. maria: thank you so much. we are all over that job's number. thank you so much for joining us. i'm maria bartiromo, happy friday. friday may fifth, cinco de mayo, a house passing to repeal and replace obamacare. president trump is confident he will fulfill one of those top campaign promises. >> we are going to get this passed through the senate, i feel so confident and this is a great plan, i actually think it would get even better and this is, make no mistake, this is a repeal and a replace of obamacare, make no mistake about it. [applause] maria: we are looking at next steps in the process. more turbulence for the airlines, delta facing fiery.
