united states? bret baier is host of special report. lept talk about formally withdrawing from the paris climate accord and exiting the u.n. climate treaty all together. what are the two plans and how do they differ? bret were for people who say the u.s. should stay in. they say it improves the ability to negotiate on climate issues and terrorism and trade. and it make us in the club. you dealt with that in your opening. china is producing cl plants, so is dia, but they are also trying to lead the way on green energy and china would step into the void and take over world leadership on that front. these are the supporters who say we should do it. there are a lot of people who say the u.s. is taking it on the chin and would take it on the chin significantly financially if these are all held in line.

i think -- this is me talking. i think the president may do some king solomon's choice, where it's half a loaf, they sort of pull out but renegotiate to say we are going to renegotiate nafta, we are not going to scrap nafta. we are going to redo the deal. i think it's possible they will try to walk -- tiptoe through the tulips and renegotiate the u.s. position of the climate change he cord. kennedy: it's something you can have both ways. there is a split in the white house with his daughter ivanka and son-in-law jared kushner begging the president to stay in the climate accord for the reasons you laid out. u.s. would remain in that pro-euro club. then others like steve ban none and gary cohn who think we should pull out.
12:05 am
bret: there is not much concern about making european countries feel awkward. the nato speech alone saying th had to y their bills was exactly what the climate change pullout would be. which is it's a disruptor. i don't think they are afraid to do that. i think they are look at other implications. like china stepping into the void. kennedy: china doesn't have the green technology we do in this country. if that is what the world is clamoring for, allow tour free market and our scientists and our technology to step into that void with an international treaty be damned. you can still do all that and that's how you can fix these problems. it's frustrating to think there has to be a globalist one-world government solution that may or may not be of tour creation. bret were there is a lot of
