has killed at least 16 people in mississippi. the marine corps refueling tanker went down in a soybean field in rural mississippi yesterday at 4:00 p.m. eastern time. governor phil brian saying in a statement, quote, men and women in uniform risk themselves to secure our freedom. investigators are trying to find out what caused the crash. recovery efforts continue this morning. we are looking for more details from our viewers as well. lauren: fbi arresting army soldier for trying to provide military documents and drone to isis, 34-year-old sergeant class in hawaii accused of attempt to go teach isis his combat techniques. >> report to you that on saturday july 8th, the fbi honolulu s.w.a.t. king arrested for support to terrorism, he made a loyalty pledge to isis.

lauren: he told an undercover agent that he wanted to use his weapons to quote, kill a bunch of people. cheryl: we will be talking about that right now let's bring former just intelligence. there seemed to be a lot of big clues, they seemed to be investigating him for a year. the attorney is says that his suffering from service-related mental health issue and it's the government's fault, what do you make of that defense? >> i'm not sure i totally buy that. i would never say that somebody did not suffer deeply overseas and suffered mental health issues. i would say that the system kind of worked i have to say that

it's the military's fault that he signed up for the military and reenlisted appear he's a relatively soldier he reenlisted again. i'm not sure it's quite accurate to bliem time in afghanistan and iraq to becoming a soldier of isis. lauren: we establish that had he was decorating, rank in first class, which is pretty high. what type of information could he have access and what type of training did he have? >> yeah, i would suspect him to have reasonably clearance. a senior-enlisted rank. it is a rank at which the army really starts to invest in you as a leader because they look at you and think future sergeant major. i did think it was weird that looking at his service record

that he wasn't deployed between 2001 where he signed up for the military and 2011, that's about a decade of time where he didn't go to the sand box, which is what service call the middle east. in general in the united states he would have access to high-level security clearance information but perhaps combat information not so much. cheryl: what's interesting, luckily is this was a year-long investigation but besides to history of threatening statements, he threatened to kill other service members in 2012, you mentioned that, he had proisis argument with colleagues at his base in honulu. he also said that omar mateen the orlando shooter did what he had to do. all of this was happening over the last several years and now we get the arrest. why did they wait so long? >> i have no idea. the more puzzling question is why did the army give him security clearance back in 2012

digit al platform. lauren: the question for you, tracee, as we put in perspective, can you quantify the dominance that facebook and google have here? tracee: it's a lot. according to e-marketer, more than 60% of u.s. digital ad spending, that's just this year. their market share is growing. they are expected to reach some 77% so these newspapers, they want to get their fair share of that. cheryl: i think they have a very strong point. facebook and google are aggregators not creators. they can't take other people's content and make that kind of cash. the bill alliance has a great point. lauren: consider what types of companies they are, are they technology, media, how they influence the public. cheryl: if mark zuckerberg wants to create a news room, good luck, i don't think he has the

cheryl: is next week realistically with ten gop senators a no. >> there never seems to be a vote in washington until there's a crisis, drop-dead date, we are not quite there yet. if they want to work through the recess till labor day. labor day is really the drop-dead date to gel the bill through the senate because, remember, once the senate bill goes through, then you to reconcile in conference the house bill and a whether or not he will new vote has to come. but i say the drop-dead is actually labor day and -- but it's my hope that next week a bill can be done and buttoned up in the senate because they have to move on to the conference. lauren: i get it. the timeline, brad, keeps getting pushed back. >> it does. lauren: do they keep the august recess. >> there's going to be hell to pay if they go home. they are sitting on the beach somewhere or in their districts, they will get an earfull from state that

-- constituents that they didn't do their job. they have the power, every bit of power the american people could give them and if they can't get the job done, there's going to be hell to pay as senator cruz says in 2018 for the midterms. cheryl: senator ted cruz, he seems to have a lot of power right now. this amendment that he's proposing mike lee from utah, this seems to be the big sticking point in the party, basically it would allow obamacare insurance companies to also sell regular plans, the fear from critics is that young -- the young e generation is going to buy the cheaper plans and not buy obama exchanges, what do you make of that? >> interesting proposition. young people weren't in the system which was the crux to fund it. having tailored plans i call it

growth to justify valuations. what we are looking at the two most important sectors, energy sector and the technology sector. they are going to be leading earnings growth and they really need to perform to justify the valuations and, you know, frankly if you look at the energy sector it's had a lot of trouble recently. oil prices are slightly above what they were in 2016 but what we are seeing a lot of gains in production so they are not making a lot more ton of money, they are pumping a lot more. we focus on it on mlp funds. one area of the market that can drive strong in a earnings that need growth. cheryl: that's hurting oil prices we should say this morning. they are saying if you don't get invent other reduction, you will see $40 a barrel for oil. that tells me that energy companies, energy sector is going to have problems making profit. >> you really have to

distinguish between different types of companies within the energy sector. oil-producers sell at the price of oil. they've done a lot of work to reduce cost of extracting oil. there are other companies in the ecosystem like transportation and storage companies where actually invent others are high because there's a lot of oil pumping through the system where they are storing a lot of oil, they can do very well. that's mass limited partnerships in the space, they are well positioned to benefit even if oil prices stagnate here. lauren: bond prices have been influx and that could threaten the stock market rally that we have been seeing. many going to bonds because there was no alternative but now that yields are going up, is that affecting the stock market? >> interest rates drive all financial markets, of course, it's going to matter, you know, what we are seeing, though, in the equity space is really people looking for growth. as bond prices start to come up, you start to seeing people look at them and i will take 2%, 3%,

what they're doing to do in the future. >> i think they are pushing situation to a crisis and the trump administration is ready to meet them head on. what we are looking at right now is something called secondary sanctions which is sanctions against chinese and other companies that invest in north korea, not necessarily north korea itself. this is something we've had in place on the iranians about two decades and they're extraordinarily helpful, however, if those don't work, i expect the trump administration to push further perhaps into some kind of unilateral action that gets a resolution of the situation. cheryl: brad, that is going to include the chinese and has to, we seem to be taking the diplomatic ruth right -- route right now. >> two pronged approach, one is using economic duress on china. china is enable e of north korea. north korea could not exist a

week -- cheryl: is that a military option? >> yeah, i think there's got to be both a military option with increasing our presence in south korea with perhaps even nuclear weapons on the peninsula and south korea. more ships in the pacific rim and beefing up military presence in japan and also our deterrence with military equipment in south korea. there's a lot we can do that we haven't done because barack obama basically had a hands-off policy in that area of the world and china exploited that both economically and militarily. lauren: andrew f our success with china proves to be limited, how do we work with korea and japan to try to contain north korea or do we act unilaterally as wall street journal reports says? >> as you point out, chinese are only going to be so helpful. they like that north korea is an

issue that causes us to go to china and ask for help and to make concessions in other areas. they're only going to help us in north korea if they see the geopolitical environment shifting against them. thus every time north korea launches a missile, i would make some gesture of security cooperation towards iran, towards south korea and japan, ei selling them fighter jets, antimissile defenses or some other deterrent action to increase their defensive posture. cheryl: brad, i asked you about military options but there's interesting economic option on the table that seemed to be discontinued by officials that you go to nearly 2,000 chinese banks that have been accused of funneling money to the north koreans. they have been at this for a long time, do you think that the chinese will cooperate on the banking level at least? >> they won't cooperate, they'll have to be led to cooperation through sanctions and let's face it, some of the biggest banks in the world are located in china,
