>> i don't think you'll see an overhaul, but something more doable and that is a tax cut. republicans go after a middle-class tax cut. something they can build support around within their own party. they might even pick up a few democrats are not want if they keep it to a middle-class tax cut. you will not see anything nearly as ambitious as they were talking about what taxes at the beginning of the year because they put themselves in a bind. they have a lot to do now, have to prove they can cover. it is going to be a smaller tax cut. cheryl: one of the leaders of move on.org sent any republican or democrat who signs on to tax reform will incur the wrath of the public that thinks the economy is rigged for the rich. democrats are united are trying to unite in states that went for trump. they are trying to unite against any tax cut for the rich.

is not an issue we can all kind of -- the low-hanging fruit. doesn't everyone want to see a tax cut? >> frankly move on.org is delusional. when you look at polling here, over 90% of americans think that the tax structure in this country makes no sense. democrats want to save overall comprehensive tax reform. this is a bipartisan issue and i believe brian is absolutely right. democrats should be able to be peeled off by republicans here and pass something really substantial. there will be no match for the electorate if this gets done. at the end of the day it will stimulate the economy, more jobs growth. that's what people want. lauren: that the republican argument. i'd kind you think the stock market has priced in tax reform or investor saint bush at bat? >> i think it's priced in a little bit of a tax cut. last week we have been raised

we did see the futures moved higher on the president's each last night. you see the correlation as well? >> you're as the traders don't like. uncertainty. the last several weeks we've had a lot of uncertainty what will happen with the white house, white house staff and policy agenda. the house and senate away on their recess. last night we got unsorted certainty in the traders are responding very favorably towards it. >> you also got the debt ceiling site september 29th at the deadline. tax reform. still a lot of concern they can't get democrats on board for tax refund the market will have a pretty negative reaction. >> i think the markets are hanging themselves on the debt ceiling. we've been talking about it for a while. it's the first thing that has to get through the house and senate. what is going to happen there is a lot of deals will likely get made that will have an impact

and may be the affordable care acted most likely tax reform. everybody is paying attention to that. if that looks like locked in stalemate, i worry about the markets. cheryl: we have a light volume on trading. the jackson hole symposium, janet yellen, mario turabi and it seems that we are waiting for some news out of interest rate. what are you looking for? >> most likely what will happen if they think you're not going to get any news. she is going to indicate that no rate hike in september, most likely and december. what is more important perhaps is the big portfolio of mortgage-backed securities that the fed owns will be unwound. several years ago i remember talking with you on the air about temper tantrums. the opposite will happen when we start to sell it. we forgot to mature and they may sell some of the market. that could have an impact on
