mass ifer earthquake struck méxico, southern mexico, causing build to go collapse in chiapas states, five people have been killed including children. cheryl: that's 650 miles away from the epicenter, power knocked down in some neighborhoods, video absolutely incredible. hospitals, schools have been damaged, méxico's strongest earthquake and méxico's president saying a few moments ago, this is the worst earthquake he has seen in a century. lauren: unbelievable. of course, we have to talk about hurricane irma. maximum sustained of 155 miles an hour, category 4 storm, it has weakened a bit. according to national hurricane center latest projected path which we are looking at, irma is expected to hit florida early

sunday morning. >> the winds are the strongest, this is the most important, the winds are as strongest they've ever seen from hurricane coming from that region. we are with everybody in florida, we are working very hard. cheryl: rick scott announced last night all schools as well as state offices will be closed, k-12, all universities, there's been at least 11 deaths reported by the way in the caribbean including 3 in the u.s. virgin islands, that island has been reduced to rubble. irma will slam the bahamas and cuba. irma is over the bahamas. lauren: good to see you,

congressman. >> good morning. lauren: that includes daytona beach, give us a sense of the situation there. there's no evacuation order where you are but i'm sure people are heading towards you, what is the fuel situation, what's on the ground? >> a lot of it is trying to follow the track of the storm, if you go back 24 hours, it was a chance to go north before it hit florida and stay in the atlantic, every forecast has pushed it further west and the current forecast is hitting the south florida. that makes it difficult for people who are trying to evacuate because where do you evacuate to. tampa could get hit by it, jacksonville gets hit like this. the calls they make about evacuations are not done lightly and done to try to save people's

lives and i think that having seen harvey and the devastation that happened, i think most floridans are not taking any chances with this storm and i think that they are airing on the side of caution which wasn't necessarily the case last year with matthew because it had been a long time since florida had been hit by hurricane and we had millions of people in our state who had never experienced a hurricane. having seen what happened with harvey, people did not want to take chances with this thing, it's a big storm, as you know, it has slowed down a little bit but it's still powerful at a category 4. lauren: congressman, we are running against the clock here, many people just want to get out of the state of florida, what do you do, you go to airport, they are overcrowded right now. some airlines bringing in bigger planes, orlando closes saturday night, 4,000 flights canceled between now and saturday, how do you get out now which is almost the last minute? >> well, if you're in south

florida, there's just no time to wait. if you're in central or north florida, you still have a little bit of time to do it, but, yes, you can get a flight out. a lot of people have flown to atlanta but now you may get hit into atlanta but it's a difficult decision in terms of logistically what you do. when there's an evacorder just get out of dodge. what's going to happen in if areas is you will have life-threatening storms. lauren: can you update us in a fuel situation, we have a couple of seconds here? >> they are doing everything they can, they are bringing big tankers, exporting them, legitimate huge problem and they are doing everything they can to mitigate the problem. congressman dye santos, thank you, good luck to you, sir. >> thank you. lauren: janice dean has been tracking the storm. cheryl: yeah, looks like the

storm is going to hit straight into florida, there's no question mark about it. up north in florida in washington the house now expected to vote on the controversial harvey package today, but many conservatives are reluctant to vote to increase the debt limit. president trump made the deal with democrats to fund the government and increase for three months as part of disaster aid to harvey. lauren: showing bipartisanship there. the president and democratic leaders discussed scrapping debt ceiling vote. house speaker paul ryan saying in an interview that he would oppose any deal to eliminate the debt ceiling vote. >> it's imperfect as this tool is, i always see this as tool for fiscal discipline and one of our powers as constitution which is congress' prerogative exercising the power of the purse. >> you are not in favor -- >> i've always -- i like the fact that congress controls the

all right, being called one to have worst data leaks in history. guess what, it could affect half of the u.s. population. cheryl: half of america and that's what we know so far, tracee, good morning. tracee: good morning, ladies, the real irony here that equifax that many people use to guard against identity theft, 143 million customers are being placed in compromising position where their private information in the hands of cyber criminals. although we are just hearing about this now, equifax says the massive breached was discovered july 292009, sensitive information, social security numbers, birthdays, addresses and in some cases driver's license numbers, credit cards number exposed in the breach which includes customers in canada and united kingdom. equifax says core credit card

database was not affected. the hackers gained access to certain files in the company's system from mid-may to july by exploiting a weak point in the website's software. that's according to an investigation by equifax and security consultants, even if you don't think you're a customer of equifax, there's a strong possibility they have data as credit reporting agency, gets information from credit card companies, banks, lenders and retailers to help determine a person's credit score. in video message to customers, here is what chairman and ceo richard smith said. >> just clearly a disappointing event, one that strikes at the heart of who we are and what we do. i deeply regret this incident. i apologize to every affected consumer and all of our partners. tracee: now, in an unprecedented move equifax is offering every consumer in the united states a

let's bring in to see how the coast guard is preparing, deputy security commander for coast guard in key west waiting out the storm in florida, commander, thank you for joining us this morning. >> thank you. cheryl: did you get the sense that residents were taking order to evacuate? >> the roads were pretty clear and that's because people had been evacuating before that, but as far as the preparations that we took, we completed a number of actions, we put all of our cutters to sea, they got underway and sailed in groups so larger ships are supporting the smaller ships, we relocated our command center, our central hub that manages search and rescue operations, we started implementing restrictions on

vessels in the port, as of 8:00 a.m. this morning, we will close and stop water side operations and the port will remain closed until after the storm and, of course, we evacuated our personnel to orlando area. cheryl: commander, i'm assuming you will go back by boat. key west itself is only 20 feet by sea level. i've read several expectations now that key west could be completely under water, do you expect that in your experience? >> well, as you know, key west is a pretty low-lying area, it's definitely going to be inundated, it's going to complicate rescue operations for us if structures are completely submerged, but we are equipped for the response, likely doing a lot of search and rescue by helicopter as we saw hurricane katrina and recently hurricane

harvey. cheryl: people will not heed the evacuation orders, that they will say specially in key west that's been through so many hurricanes, you the folks who say, i'm going ride it out, aree you prepared for those evacuations, sounds like you are, i'm assuming the expectation is higher than irma. >> we are definitely prepared. hopefully people are getting the warnings, we are urging mariners, during height of the storm rescue systems are not in place. cheryl: we have seen folks that head out and go bridges for the storm's impact, would you recommend that for people that are staying do such a move? >> i can't recommend that, you know, the county issued that evacuation order so that's all i

boycott merchants that inflate prices in a time of crisis. cheryl: she was not kidding around in interview in fox business yesterday. very latest on hurricane irma, let's go to fox senior meteorologist janice dean who has been tracking the storm. janice: 2 miles short of a 5 and still potential to become a 5 again, so just because you see a category level go down, the impact is still potentially catastrophic for the bahamas turks cacos and south florida, the water ahead of it is about 90-degrees and doesn't have a lot of land interaction, still a very powerful storm and example hurricane katrina made landfall was a 3 but the storm surge was a like a 5. so that's the type of storm that we are dealing with.

saturday, sunday, taking worst case scenario, worst hit from possibly category 4, as i mentioned, look at the waters ahead of this, close to 90-degrees, waters are 86 right here. potential for this to strengthened as making landfall which makes it more dangerous storm. european and gfs models are in agreement. south florida and the whole state of florida potentially could take the wrath of this storm and then the computer models in very good agreement now and then we have to watch georgia in the carolinas, but for the weekend, it's a florida story, florida keys story and this is potentially going to be one of the worst hurricanes they have ever seen in florida history. there's the track again, just because we downgraded the storm a little bit 2 miles short of a 5, does not mean that we are not dealing with potential catastrophic storm hitting florida this weekend. back to you. cheryl: it could come on land as

before but forecasters are saying that this is going to be a storm of epic proportions, worst hurricane ever in the atlantic, do you find that you and your neighbors, your friends' businesses are taking extra precautions? >> indeed, we are seeing people boarding up windows, people are leaving town, people are getting set up for the storm, we have seen this before in florida, we get this fairly often and this is looking like it's going to be the worst storm since andrew in 1992, so there's going to be a lot of people that haven't been through a major storm yet, overall, we are seeing a pretty robust response in florida, we are pretty well prepared. cheryl: we were looking at big insurance companies that got a lot of florida exposure and i want to ask you because you're a market analysts, we are looking at universal, all of these have big florida exposure. as investors, as you prepare for the storm to come to your hometown, as investor you have to be asking yourself if this is a buying opportunity for these

names? >> well, we will see how the storm plays out and that could really affect losses, we are seeing the names that you mentioned, double-digit selloffs because investors are looking at just what's going on and they're expecting they are going to have to pay out many billions of dollars, but, you know, the track the storm takes, if it goes up, at the center of the storm goes to less inhabited areas and we expect it turns to sea, although that's not in forecast at all, i want to make that very clear, it's like -- it's all depending on the weather. on the other hand, we have upside and companies that would help with any rebuilding like home depot or lowe's, increase in sales after the storm passes over. cheryl: home depot, lowe's, all

controversial bill, here to weigh in on the political fallout is former adviser to brad blakeman and robin byro. we have a perfect storm of events between the hurricanes, north korea tensions, the dc turmoil. let's begin with dc turmoil. the house is expected to vote on it today, do you expect it to pass, robin? >> yes, it must. we have to raise the debt ceiling, we cannot default in national debt, donald trump knows this and i think after two failed attempts at the health care reform he was ready to get it done, whatever it took and scrap partisan politics. so if this was the idea, i'm glad that he's outside of the box and i'm glad that nancy pelosi and chuck schumer stepped up and ready to work. lauren: faction of them called

the republican committee and 150 republicans, many of them said they are going to vote no on this bill. >> well, the good news is they are probably not going to be needed because they'll be enough democrats to make up for republican losses, auditory word in washington has been compromise and compromise is great. we have to do it in every form of our life, personal life, business life and it has to be done in politics too. my caution for democrats is, be careful in taking a victory lap and overplaying your hand, if you want the president to go to the well again and compromise, then, you know, don't gloat about it. lauren: i think you were listening to counselor to president kellyanne conway, brad, and i will bring robin to respond because essentially she said, look, the president is not a politician, he's businessman and he cut a deal even though he had a compromise for the american people. >> and that was exactly what he needed to do and i'm glad he did

it. he was the ultimate political outsider, he was in not the party favorite of the gop, so and just this past week, excuse me paul ryan and mitch mcconnell didn't do him any favors, so i think that nancy pelosi seized on that and here we are at the table finally negotiating and working to get things done that are going to deliver promises for american people. lauren: you brought it up paul ryan and nancy pelosi, part of the reason the deal was made, part of the reason the deal was made was because the president wanted, you know, the bipartisan moment for the country but house republican -- sorry, let me move on. i asked you that question already. what does this say about the future of paul ryan. i know that there are reports that steve bannon was meeting with some members that talk about replacing him? >> i think paul ryan will be just fine, i think he's well respected and thought of in the republican caucus and this deal is good for the american people

because it not only take care of relief and raises debt ceiling and let's see if the democrats are willing to bargain and compromise in december as they were in september. lauren: what is expected to happen in december, robin? >> we have to revisit this, again, this is only a three-month band aid, basically. it's just going to get through, we have the raise the debt ceiling yet again but this was a start. this was the most urgent priority coming out of their -- their vacation, so we've got this done but we are going to hit the problem again, right again at 3 months and we have to be able to hit the ground running. lauren: what about the future of nancy pelosi, there was question about future, effectiveness, is she back in power? >> no, she's not back in power. i think if anything it says, she's an equal power. she's not, you know, above the republicans who are in the

the federal reserve hiking rates an push the dollar, what has happened is inflation is actually, remain very low, surprising economists, at the same time you have seen in washington not passing as quickly as people may have hoped so on that the dollar has weakened slightly and expectations of growth and inflation not coming through so quickly and as a result federal reserve not hiking interest rates as people had hoped. that's one thing. more individual recent factors as well, you've had the tensions in north korea, that's caused investors to go to heaven assets like gold and to buy currencies like the yen and swiss frank which they tend to move into when they are word. that has pushed the dollar down. you've had the awful hurricanes hitting the u.s. as well as costs, the fed isn't going to raise interest rates as people
