trade your president trump heads to the united nations where the nuclear threat will obviously be a major topic of conversation. joining us now with political science professor dr. bruce backed all a president george w. bush, brad lake man. i begin with you. what do you expect the president to say when he addresses for the first time tomorrow. >> i think you will rally the world come to take them to task and challenge them to de-escalate the crisis on the korean peninsula. curiously enough, the two major antagonist in the world will not be present. china and russia will not be present for donald trump speech to the u.n. and that is very troubling because china has no bigger challenge dm trying to calm the situation and get they are not there in russia. of course destabilizing the middle east, most recently of course in syria.

i am troubled by the fact that two superpowers over a lot of the chaos in the world are absent from the u.n. general assembly. lauren: does that trouble you that we can expect the president, we've seen the president put the pressure on china to enforce sanctions for one thing. china and russia are going to be there? >> that is pretty interesting. we've got the same since the sanctions put through very quickly. china and russia did their usual shtick, watering them down a little bit. they think president trump may be looking already at new sanctions with north koreans and will put real pressure on sanctions on activities that go much further there were just issued after the latest missile tests. trade to the most recent

sanctions. trade from the president about that. this is that the president said over the weekend and there's a new nickname for kim jong sub on here, which is rocket man. i asked him how rocket man is doing good and long gas lines forming in north korea. too bad. do you think the sanctions are starting to bite? >> they might be starting to bite, but not the bite that is necessary to cause the pain to kim, the dictator of north korea. china is her luck and to turn off the oil and that's what needs to happen. i'm a firm believer the united states has to have some shared sacrifice and the reduction in trade with china. we have to tell china as long as you continue to deal with north korea that we can deal with you. yeah it's going to hurt our economy, but nowhere near what our economy would face if we faced a nuclear retaliation on

the korean peninsula. lauren: aside from sanctions, which is very important, dr. bechtel, is there a way that the united states can't intercept the north korean ships that are bringing supplies in getting supplies from iran for instance? >> absolutely. that is proliferation security initiative founded by president george w. bush. under psi, some other member states in member states that local unidentified house several intersections of shipments to the middle east just this year. one can expect the temple will be pushed up on that along with going after different companies and individuals, not north koreans helping their illicit financial outside and are

enabling them to continue to finance the very expensive ballistic missile and nuclear programs. psi is something we will see increased focus on. 100 member states in psi and you may see a more active psi operations. trade your okay, you know we have to have this discussion with the talk about potential military action. no one wants to see that including the new u.n. secretary-general because he has said it will take generations to overcome, brad, what would happen if there was a military option. we are pretty close to seeing one, are we not? >> every day that can test his personal interpretation brings us closer to that point and it's regrettable. china really holds the key in my opinion to de-escalate this. they can do it if they want to.

hurricane. swimming towards the eastern caribbean. the major category three and later today and could hit islands also hit by hurricane irma. lea: adam klotz live in the weather center. reporter: good morning, guys. the very act of season as a look at berea, josé, even towards league in the distance. a very active hurricane season continuing at this point. there it is that the east coast. far enough off the east coast that not a lot of folks are noticing up and down the east coast will change in the next couple days. not a direct tip we are going to see at least some changes there. part of it on our tropical storm watches and warnings urging all the way up into new england. there's going to be some rain. a couple inches of rain. they be as much as five or six inches. the winfield as it moves on a the coast today at the outer

banks. here's which are looking up for josé, maybe bumping into areas where you start to see winds pick up. this is going to be a landfall. folks are going to notice this is happening. rip currents increasing as a result as well. the other big story going forward is hurricane maria that currently a category one storm picking up running into a category three and four after the next couple days before it runs overall the islands. here's the turn it makes over the bahamas and getting the bahamas in getting the sharp turns or perhaps because it turned towards the east coast is something we are watching. all of the ones we of the ones we saw get hit originally with burma to be hit again. hurricane watches and warnings throughout all the islands unfortunately and as you put this into motion, we will talk about at least a possibility. here's a look at our tropical models moving that direction, lifting their way through the bahamas once again.

transfers for more on this, ryan mara joins us now. national security analyst also professor of counterterrorism at liberty university. good to see you this morning. first of all, can you tell us more about what we know about the suspect? >> reportedly they are both refugees, one for my back, one from syria but basically we've rescued them from. that's what's going on in iraq and syria in making to the west, they came to the u.k. to have a better life and this is the payback for god. it is really just another story of how strong the extremist ideology is any rebuttal to say we just don't love people enough, that we are not being tolerant enough. the rest including the u.k. in the u.s. are a very generous country, but that doesn't seem to penetrate and stop the extremist ideology. >> very suspect and disappointed. i want to bring this out.

we'll be watching to see how they categorize and are they still seem it is temporary or that there is more structural problems from the labor force holding wages down and how that's contributing to inflation. we will also be watching what comes out with another good telltale sign printed to see where they're looking on the long end of the curve for rates in the future they are. lauren: what about the impact back to the hurricane that has to inspect the inflation over the fed dismissed that as a temporary factor? >> it's funny that markets have seen to kind of let it go a little bit. we have seen some earnings revisions come down a little bit because of a hip they are going to see from the hurricane. it's interesting if you look there is to set or is there really have been struggling lately, both the autos and housing. that actually might be two areas that have some benefits from the hurricanes. in houston year alone we have over 500,000 automobiles

destroyed so there's a lot of tailwinds going for both housing and automobiles that might come from the hurricane. lauren: that is actually an excellent point. the carcinogen carried a new one at least temporarily. by the way, we do hope you and your family are okay at this point. >> looking at these markets overall, the dataset to .2% last week. the s&p touched and closed at 2500. is there still room and what are you telling clients right now? what is looking good to you? >> when i look historically at what the market has done. we wouldn't be surprised to see a bit of pullback over the next month or two. really when you start to see the rally come back into play.
