5:14 am
illegally and with our citizens who are here to need a government that will treat these issues responsibly. cheryl: let's show our viewers is divided up what is in this new proposal if they are waking up this morning unaware of what we are talking about. first there needs to be included in any deal they say the immigration plans going forward funding for the border wall. they wall. they want to make century city section cargo, los angeles, san francisco illegally, crack down on minors that that document and more agents at the nation's borders. do you think some of these will be nonstarters for democrats and republicans? >> they probably will be because some democrats have said senator schumer has made very clear that he disapproves increase border security is based in the form of a physical wall and i don't know why he would be opposed to that
5:15 am
because again that is a common sense way to make sure our southern border, which is highly folder evolved actually is protected. our border agents and case ages tell us that we need better physical security to augment bitter securities including better prosecution or better prosecution over judges, more capabilities so they can protect americans and make sure people inclined or attempted to enter this country illegally don't do it. that's actually more compassionate than believe it or not. cheryl: the president is using the power of money and some of these proposals whether it's mandating companies used across the nation, meaning they have to verify the status of those people they do hire, but also kind of a bully pulpit measure but it may just work. pulling federal funding from cities that declare themselves sanctuary cities.
5:16 am
might actually get some traction. cheryl: absolutely. that is the cities going against federal law, refusing to help our legitimate legal authorities to enforce the law and they put every other american at risk because there's no way to control the traffic out of sanctuary cities. it's entirely sensible and entirely fair for the federal government to withhold funding from cities to refuse to cooperate. cheryl: what about, we still say kids, many are no longer children, some in early 20s and early 30s. 600,000 are still under the dreamers program. even the president himself at times whether the campaign trail or president had discussed a comfort level as you throw in these young people out of the country. do you think he's dead set on this particular part?
5:17 am
>> i think there is broad support for again a compassionate approach to young people who through no fault of their own were brought to this country as minors and consider themselves to be american. i applaud the president for taking actions that are meant to enforce and reinforce our laws and our national security, border security and it sensible commonsense immigration laws and also allow for compassionate approach to these young people who consider themselves to be at home in this country. cheryl: real quick cover 20 seconds to do. one of the things they want to do is green cards based on merit. the business community is going to apply this. what's the political side? >> a lot of democrats in particular find this objectionable. this is common sense, cheryl.
