hawks, any time we wanted to do anything the obama administration said we have to pay for it and offset it. they haven't gotten an answer from the trump administration how they will pay for the tax plans. getting growth won't be enough. kennedy: the supply siders do. i like the calvin coolidge method. cut tax, cut spending. that's how you grow the economy. that's how you do it honestly. is it possible for the various factions of the republican party to come together? guy: i think they will come together on something out of political necessity. because they know they are screwed with their base and donors if they don't. trump will sign something. that something may not be anywhere near the coach what i think paul ryan and others hoped for. kennedy: once in a generation
8:09 pm
tax reform. guy: instead of being temporary cuts, rand paul threatening to vote against the budget where they could debate the specifics would be a mistake. i'm weary about him lecturing about being a good constitutionalist when he just endorsed roy moore for the senate. >> we'll probably get tax reform and tax cuts. but tax reform, we won't sight. kennedy: the difference between then and now is republicans and ronald reagan had their friend tip o'neill. here you have leaders, pelosi and schumer saying we are going to obstruct everything.

>> republicans don't need us. i would love for democrats to have more leverage. republicans can do it on their own, but they are too split. kennedy: that doesn't mean the same thing to these people. look at the public backlash that affordable care act had. it was shoved down people's votes with only the democratic vote. kennedy: that's how they ceebees. first up, president trump denying he made insensitive remarks to the which dove a fallen soldier and claims the congresswoman who made the accusation is lying about it. a reporter asked the president if he contacted the families of three green berets.
