they have not settled on one message. >> terry mcauliffe has said to "the wall street journal" but some of the donors say they need to take a break and be convinced they can't take a break. have you do that? >> it's extremely difficult. my former boss senator schumer was and still is a fundraiser. i think after the run-up to the 2016 presidential election in the infamous quicken money machine donors are exhausted and need a break. the dnc leadership, congressman grayson may does a dear friend of mine and she and i had this conversation. owners need a break in the party leadership at the dnc in house and senate need to understand folks need a little breathing room. the way candidates are given selection is key as we saw in alabama and then you can go, but

until then inciting they should be given a rest during the holiday season. >> as we go into 2018, we are president trump talk about bipartisanship now. is that a republican strategy to make bloggers more comfortable in the midterm? >> may be, but she need two to tango and i don't see democrats getting on board with that. infrastructure is a natural way to get some democratic support. i don't think democrats will get on board with the president and quite frankly that maybe the advantage to the republican party from the midterm elections. so far going back to our previous conversation, democrat said on the winning strategy, too. it is very hard to get people to invest in now when you know you're not going to win 50 state. you have eight seats that are

getting it done or to open the checkbook was saying the 50 state strategy is going to be wasting millions of dollars. >> what's your take on what the democrat strategy will be. are they going to play ball with republicans or are they going to be obstructionist this year? >> i think if president trump had legs in the early days of his administration with a jobs bill in the infrastructure built, we would've seen a very different tone. by choosing again to push unsuccessful repeal of the affordable care act and work on the travel ban. lea: but there is an opportunity to work together in this new year. do you think they're going to? >> i hope so. i can't speak for the house but there's a very different tribes statewide rather than specific house districts. there's an interest in large infrastructure jobs bill with

good intent and people come to the table ready to make those deals. some bipartisanship could be a welcome change. lea: republicans for leader mitch mcconnell had been blaming steve banning for the loss in alabama and push people away. do you think we will see a change there? b. mac i believe we will. quite frankly for a partner starting to change resolve them with a cut ties with an anti-semitic potential candidate to lebron for paul ryan c. i think they see the writing on the wall and quite frankly they stumbled out of the gate in their brand specifically with alabama and other races. lea: what is going to be an exciting year either way. mcclendon said, thank you for being with us this morning. lauren: coming up, it has been a tough year for the movies. >> show me my place in all of

coming but they would not replace on. lauren: where you right now? >> is 96 degrees. beautiful oakland hills, illinois. it's a little chilly. lauren: i'm asking because we have this frigid cold weather outdoors. i was heating oil and oil being affected because of oil tanks? >> we've seen a dramatic oil in heating oil and gas because it is a cold, we've seen them not on the highest level we've seen in a couple years. the conundrum is for natural gas. its so cold, wise natural gas struggling to go higher? the simple answer is record production. we are producing more than we did a year ago and so when it's cold outside we don't draw and inventory as much. even with the record production, lauren, these cold temperatures that can turn the gas market around pretty soon.

what causes that in your opinion. is there a thread that could turn a wrench into all of this by increasing interest rates to rapidly? >> could could be anything. it could be china. we are actually coming to the end of a very long experiment here. the united states is well ahead on the path to normalization raising raid then this'll be a sequel because the ecb in europe will have to do it. japan will eventually have to do it. some point in time raising rates especially along another curve if you start to get back, they'll be competition for the stock market and we see evidence with commodity prices higher in earlier oil prices higher. one gentleman saying oil prices could be as high as $68 the end of next year. not good for bond investors. >> i do not hold you are and i'm not asking, but at this rate the dow and the s&p could the assignment of the route in the data we have seen in six years that i certainly don't remember
