correlations. in texas you have more guns and anywhere else in the country, therefore you have no living people in texas because more guns means more homicides. you have so many guns there everyone is obviously dead, correct? >> well, the problem with that premise is the people who own guns in texas are mostly law abiding certain seasons, just because -- citizens. just because i advocate for repeal of the second amendment doesn't mean i advocate for banning guns. kennedy: how does that work? we repeal the second memo people are no longer able to exercise their constitutional right to protect themselves which would be a difficult argument for to you put forward in the state of texas. i have been there many times. i know a lot of people there it's a special place. how do you square that with what we have come to the conclusion

without someone taking it from you happens to be a natural right. how you maintain your life? sometimes it's through self-defense. >> that gets to my second point of my answer. like i said, if we make gun ownership a privilege and not a right, all that means is the people who want guns have to go through a few simple steps to get them. kennedy: i think you are right. i think criminals are the first ones who are going to sign up for training, they are going to register their weapons, they are probably going to hand over the ones that you arbitrarily deem to be unfit because your brand of authoritarian moralization proves that you know better man other people how best to defend themselves and their family. that's great. that makes a lot of sense. you changed my mind. >> when you apply home defense and self-defense to this

argument you are ignoring things like children at school who aren't there to defend themselves or people at a concert in las vegas. they are not there to defend themselves. these are people doing normal everyday activities that are getting slaughtered because we cannot agree on how to restrict gun ownership. the second amendment is broken. in texas we say if something ain't broke we don't fix it. kennedy: humanity is broken and the few people who cross the line and go on those murderous ram pages, you would wad up the second amendment and sheet at them with a can noo cannon and t change them. you may have a lot of people who are registered democrats, but they ared a heernts to the second amendment -- they ared .
