lauren: nasdaq posting a gain for the quarter, up 7 quarters in a row gaining 2%. cheryl: only markets open today are in asia in japan, excuse me, nikkei jumping 1 and a half percent, up arrows in shanghai and south korea as well. lauren: say it ain't, so the cup of doug at starbucks could cause cancer? fbn:am starts right now. ♪ cheryl: 5:01 a.m. in new york, it's friday and it's good friday and march 30th, good morning, i'm cheryl casone. lauren: good morning, thank you for joining us, i'm lauren simonetti. cheryl: fox business live, the other guys on tape and a lot of news break to go get to. lauren: yeah, let's talk about what happened overnight, another potential big deal in the works in the health care sector.

sours say that wal-mart is in preliminary talks to buy humana this could be the largest acquisition in the company's history, humana has market value of $37 billion. cheryl: talking over a number of options in addition to outright purchase of humana, incredible deal if it goes through. this deal would make wal-mart now one of the country's largest health insurers, forget the fact that it's one of the world's largest retail companies. lauren: all in battle with amazon and humana has the medicare relationship, this would deepen wal-mart's relationship with seniors. president trump blasting amazon, all of this as the president bushes his ambitious infrastructure plan. cheryl: kevin cork has details from the white house.

pretty much probusiness, attacks on amazon and trade are not with conditioned -- notwithstanding, we have low growth, i think we have the underpinnings and the tax cuts still yet to see full effects. i like the economy and i like the stocks right now. lauren: we are coming to second-quarter earning season, can that outway the three t's out there? >> yeah, let's start on the bottom on tech, i still like tech. people need to discern what tech stocks to own, lit me talk a little bit about what i use as simple criteria, could i live without that company? i can live without facebook but maybe part of generation that i didn't really grow up with it. lauren: i could live without it.

>> what's that? lauren: we are in different generations, gary. >> could you live without amazon, google, netflix, maybe netflix because there's competition with hulu and others, certainly not amazon and google. i mean, google, my e-mail, my storage, all the other stuff, i think tech is exciting and we haven't talked about some of the companies that are getting into artificial intelligence, self-driving cars as much of a line they are, a real growth opportunity, so i love tech, let's talk about tightening, i still think it's low inflation out there, we are in an environment that yields to low inflation, you have price crushers like amazon out there, like wal-mart out there, so everyone -- every time someone tries to race prices there's competition, not domestic internationally to tamp down on that. some of the barriers, and then trade, i'm a little worried about trade, trump always seems

escalating in health care. cheryl: god for the son -- consumer. i wonder what it means for cvs and aetna. interesting that the health insurers are going -- >> you notice what's taking over the strip mall, urgent care. it's becoming a retail business, we have just under 80 million baby boomers that are getting older requiring more health care, you bring it to them, you do it in retail environment that makes all the sense in the world maybe it can be more affordable. cheryl: we are in a real antiregulatory environment but right now under president trump and this administration, we have seen a record-setting amount of regulations pulled back, i have to ask, do you think regulators will take issue? >> it's interesting, the

shareholders of the cvs-eata deal approved it, and the question is how is the justice department going feel about that, obviously, there's a big concern amongst voters about rising health care costs, there's going to be pressure on the government to let that go through, if the impetus were doing to keep the cost down but we also have the at&t deal on trial right now and there's government pushback there, it's hard to tell whether the administration is pro or against mergers. cheryl: we are just finishing up the third quarter yesterday, we had the dow and s&p falling for the quarter, and in a general sense, how are you feeling about the market? >> i feel about the market like i feel about my car right into the city, like a roller coaster, i have nauseous. this year will be a roller coaster ride. 2, 3, 4% ups and 2, 3, 4% downs,

good for them as huge stories break overnight in the business world. lauren: including what former presidential nominee said. cheryl: right, hillary clinton is still talking, still talking about her presidential election loss this time taking aim at what happened afterward. >> i was really struck by how people said that to me, mostly people in the press for whatever reason, like, oh, you know, go away, go away and i had one of the young people that works for me do back and do research, they never said that to any man who was not elected. i was kind of struck by that and i'm really glad that, you know, al gore didn't stop talking about climate change and i'm really glad that john kerry went to the senate and became an excellent secretary of state and i'm really glad john mccain kept speaking out and standing up and saying what he had to say, and for heaven's sake mitt romney is

running for the senate. cheryl: clearly hillary is not going anywhere either, she's commit today speaking out and having a voice in debate of our country but is this bad for democrats as we approach the midterms? here to weigh in democratic strategists michael star r hopkins and kevin phillips. >> good morning. cheryl: you tweeted about this that this is not going to be good for the democrats because hillary clinton at this point does nothing but kind of conjure up anger among the party and the loss that they suffered to president trump. >> every night i say a little prayer that hillary clinton will stay in politics, she's easy to rally the base around, someone who does not have high approval rating on either side of the aisle, republicans need a figure that they can point to and say this is who we are fighting against and especialfully the senate states in these upcoming

midterm elections, states where donald trump won easily and democrats are trying to defend their seats, the last thing they want is hillary clinton coming in and offending millions of voters in their states, i think it's evident like claire mccaskill. cheryl: she was frankly a bad candidate and a lot of dislike when it comes to her and how she handles emails. michael, i want to ask you about donna brazile because not everybody is saying that hillary clinton should sit down and take a break. >> i hope that she stays on the battlefield and she has invaluable experience of what we should be doing in the 21st century. cheryl: does donna brazile have a point, should hillary should stay in the conversation? >> she has earned the right to participate and continue inside the democratic party but i agree to some degree with our other guest here and the fact that hillary does bring the base of

donald trump more together and while i think her message is in the right place, she's not really the right messenger to dlif it. democrats have to focus on turning to the next chapter. cheryl: kevin, i'm following on twitter, i want to bring up this issue of the blockbuster ratings of roseanne, 18 million viewers, that was before we even got the dvr numbers in, those that taped it watched it later, i mean, is this a sign, do you think that hollywood and the mainstream media in new york are still ignoring what is important to the american people because this show really showed middle america and middle american family? >> i think there's two sides to this, the first side being that, yeah, there are a lot of american consumers who look on their tv's and all they see is traditional liberal political correct content and they feel refresh today see conservative faces on the screen who aren't

being portrayed in negative light, in the same time i would caution conservatives because roseanne is hollywood hero, not somebody who has conservative credentials, you are on the hook for whatever she says, it says to producers and directors that, hey, there's a lot of money to be made by producing content that doesn't portray conservatives as these horrible crazy people. cheryl: you're onto something because disney has -- is looking to actually serve that audience, have been very clear, they have a diverse company, they want to be diverse and also want to cater to maybe a faith-base audience, michael, again, is this going to be -- are democrats going make same mistake, ignoring the working class, that's who voted for president trump, are they going to make the same mistake in

november? >> no, this will come to surprise, i like shows like last man standing because they portray republicans in a way that i thought was relatable. when we have shows like roseaane or blackish, it allows people to see humanity in things that are different from them. that brings people together, we need more of that. cheryl: all voices should be heard. >> absolutely. cheryl: hollywood needs to understand that. >> it's profitable. >> good for morality. cheryl: i agree with you michael, we appreciate you being here on good friday as well, good to have you both. >> thank you. lauren: tough week for tesla, now the company is facing more problems, what is their biggest recall yet. cheryl: hillary vaughn joins us on that and other headlines making news this morning. good morning again, hillary. >> hey, good morning again, cheryl and lauren, over 123,000 model s cars have a bolt issue

that could be dangerous for drivers so tesla is issuing its biggest recall ever, all model s cars built before april 2016 need to be brought in so the bolt that is deal with power steering can be swapped. musk says no immediate action needs to be taken, though, and customers will be contacted by tesla to schedule an appointment once parts are available in their region, the retro fit for the bolt should take only about an hour, this is the company finished off its worst one-month performance in the stock market since december 2010 but yesterday tesla shares up 8% at the close. cheryl: yeah, the world voluntary is certainly a piece of good news for elon musk but more good news for him and it's regarding spacex. >> this is a big first, u.s. regulators approving spacex plan for broadband satellite services, the federal communications commission giving first ever approval of the u.s. licensed satellite, the system

would use 4,425 satellites and privately held by spacex, the next work will help bring internet access to help americans living in rural areas and hard to reach places that cable or cell towers can't cover, will launch will carry one of the satellites into space. lauren: hillary, what menu item is taco bell ditching? >> this is so sad, taco bell is kicking nacho fries off the menu. i haven't tried them yet. they are going to be gone in a week. just months after they introduced -- yes, months after they introduced nacho fries to the world, taco bell says they will be retiring their most successful dish to date from the menu customers will have one week to get their nacho fries fix, the 1 dollar snack brings together the best of both worlds, seasoned fries and tub of nacho cheese on the fries,

until time? >> well, i think that it was a disappointment that it wasn't -- it's one of those things where wrinkle in time it's a book that's been around for a long time, adapted once before, not really well, it's been considered unadaptable, well, now maybe it still is. lauren: comparison last year, you had beauty and the beast, kong, logan, that didn't do so well. some of the movies from last year or is it a tough comparison or something else? >> i think it's a tough comparison. we have gotten to the point where each year they make more and more money, it's like the stock market, you can't expect to make a ton of money every spring and, you know, it's still early in the spring, if you measure march till the end of let's say april, but right now there's nothing with the exception of player one that is going to make people flock to the theaters. lauren: yeah, hollywood had

issues in recent years. >> tv is really good now. lauren: tv is really good and a lot of competition and politics that sometimes play in not necessarily in the moviesed that we discussed but tv shows, i want to talk about roseanne the reboot, what does that say to you? >> several factors you to consider, one there's recognizability. it's a family show but roseanne and she was on for ten years. lauren: i grew up to. >> you want to see what she's up to, you know, the real roseaane, what would the character be like, the great thing about comedy especially right now is that you watch a show like roseanne whether you're on her sister's side or roseanne's side. lauren: final question.
