lauren: jonathan hoenig. where to jonathan's can this all be clear. does this avoid a trade war? >> the market is responding. although china had originally talked about back in november, trump had actually said you're seeing the market respond once again any kind is with spans the region. markets tend to get scared. they tend to fall and have less liquidity. when you talk about liberalizing of the chinese president did in the freedom equals growth. imagine what would happen if the u.s. decided to remove tariffs. markets could be up 1000 points that this is a positive step if you're free trade and liberalizing the economy. lauren: as jonathan hoenig just said, do we have reason to believe that president xi will follow through with them? he'll have some sort of timeline or deadline or calendar said board reason to believe him?

he might the market is responding to the fact that right now we are changing the conversation from opposing terrorists and restrict teen trade to actually having an open conversation. i think larry kudlow has done a good job calming the market in showing he will bring some reasoning to this tariff conversation that is existing. although i don't think the market volatility is going to be totally based off of tariffs, but i do think it has a good impact in what we are seeing happen for these markets. lauren: china has just filed a complaint against the u.s. as the wto, world trade organization against the first part of these tariffs, the steel and aluminum tariffs. how do you see that playing out? >> i see that terrorists plan other pastors for whatever country decides to enact them. in the last couple days when it comes to soybeans, the president essentially apologizing to farmers in the midwest about the

effect that terrorists could have on them. there's been some examples of a trade war, kind of a tit-for-tat when it comes to tears. that is why you see the market respond so favorably this morning. as her guests had come in the prospect of more trade, less terrorist is more incentive to buy stock. lauren: to play devils advocate come if if you look at tit-for-tat, some of the very smart people out there crunched the numbers. fitch says the amount to .3% of the economy. goldman says that is your .2% of u.s. gdp. is this that big of a deal? john gerard. >> it is that big of a deal. ultimately, anything having to do with reducing the trade deficit and liberalizing, cutting out the argument onto trade tariffs is positive for

the market. it's positive in the sense people will feel more confident to buy stocks and they won't see the negative impact that trade tariffs as a natural thing due to the economy. >> as you wrap this up, volatility is no doubt here to stay. how much of the volatility has to do with computers? china removed human emotion but making things create more human emotion if you ask me. >> no, loring. behind the computers are people. they are not at another round. in fact, computers existed last year when we had low. the volatility. i think washington has more to do than computers with volatility in the last couple weeks. lauren: all right to jonathan, john coming thank you so much. good to see both of you. cheryl: i'd like some human emotion right now in the market. that's for sure.
