minutes to match south korean time. president trump is bending the time. if he can move north and south korea to the same time, maybe if he pulls this off, he can move iran out of the seventh century. kennedy: let's talk a little bit about where we go from here. a couple of months ago there were some leftists saying that the president's twitter blast was taking us to the precipices of world war ii i. >> i think it's worthwhile to take a look at the iran situation and then look at the north korea situation. and the reality is that it's almost certainly going to be a hell of a lot more complicated to figure out whether or not north korea is complying with various things that we've asked them to do with respect to nuclear weapons and nuclear dearmament. i think the other aspect of this is what the chinese are interested in. do the chinese want normalization of relations 2010s between the north and the south.

has the mueller probe actually turned into a witch hunt. the president certainly thinks so, at least he did this morning when he tweeted that 13 angry democrats in charge of the russian witch hunt are starting to find out there is a court system in place that actually protects people from injustice and just wait until the courts get to see your unrevealed conflicts of interest. his tweet seemed to be in response to a federal judge on friday reprimanding mueller prosecutors for using evidence from an old investigation to get

justice system on its head. normally you have a crime, investigators look for the person who perpetrated it. now we have investigators finding people and looking for crimes. kennedy: that's actually a really good way of putting it and i think it's frustrating for people who are interested in the rule of law because in many circumstances here it seems to be discarded and so much of the mueller investigation is secretive. and i mean, why can't we know the parameters of this investigation if the president is being accused or investigated, or his team. because we know that he's not a target. he's merely a subject of this investigation so far. but it's something so serious that part of our political process has come to a grinding halt. we're on a first-name basis with all of the president's legal team, that's problematic and we deserve to learn more. >> you're absolutely right, kennedy. and that's, i think, one of the reasons why you see so many members of congress who have law enforcement prosecutorial

backgrounds are who are saying enough is enough. it's time to see the documents, see the scope of the investigation and where this is directed. right now you have a group of professional investigators and prosecutors operating in complete secrecy in a grand jury system that is completely secret. and doing things that all we know -- and we have our speculation. yet despite hundreds of hours of testimony by white house officials, hundreds of thousands of documents from the official office and from the campaign, we are 15 months in and we still have no evidence of any collusion because there wasn't any. and that's why the president calls this over and over again a witch hunt. kennedy: well it's really interesting, mark, because there were 38 news organizations, conservative, liberal and independent who got together during the obama administration begging for more transparency. why aren't those same news organizations doing the same thing with some of these

investigations, whether it's the doj. and it seems like the only thing fruitful and productive has been the inspector general at the doj who has not finished with his work but also with special counsel. >> and i think it's very telling that as we get closer to that inspector general report, we see more and more former officials of the fbi and the justice department tucking tail and running and thigh ear doing so for a very real reason. some fired, criminal referral for andrew mccabe. we'll see how this plays out. but all of the indication indice that they're going to uncover the level of political malfeasance that was taking place at the high levels of a small group of people in the justice and the fbi. kennedy: i'm curious to know about your opinion on this. i'm more curious about rod rosenstein crafting the memo that got james comey fired. do you think he did that intentionally, not to hurt comey but ultimately to hurt the president knowing that it would launch the special counsel?
