council approved a tax on large businesses to help fight homelessness. lawmakers agreed to charge businesses $275 for each full-time worker down from the $500 tax first imposed, but even that was the largest tax of its kind according to "the wall street journal." amazon vice president saying the company is disappointed by the move to tax jobs saying they do not have a revenue problem. it has a spending deficiency problem. the tax next year would raise $48 million a year for affordable housing and homeless services. gerri: more on that later on in the show. the cambridge scandal has suspended some of its apps. gerri: tracee carrasco joins us with more on that another headlines. >> some 200 apps were shared on

or through facebook. facebook didn't name the top, but they are among thousands as a guardian investigation following the cambridge analytica fallout. they will take some time to complete but didn't indicate how far along it was so they couldn't see his suspension and maybe even more apps. >> i want to know about tesla in elon musk having another bad week. >> the driver of a tesla model as in utah said she was operating in autopilot mode when she crashed into the back of the fire track at full speed. tesla has not released details based on the cars computer log says it will continue to work with police on the investigation. elon musk treated it is super messed up that a tesla crashed resulting in a broken ankle is front-page news in the 40,000 people who died in u.s. auto accidents allowed in the past year get almost no coverage.

on the show this early morning. we appreciate it. we saw yesterday the casino stocks go through the roof up 5% across-the-board many of them in one city shows a total annual report for casinos and racetracks could have 7 billion if your add-in online billion. this could be $16 billion at best just one estimate. how big do you see this getting? how incredible could this whole industry be? >> i think it is a buckle up on that. there is no question. about $150 billion in wagering covers sports gambling when on last year. imagine if the states could have their hands and not in the collecting tax revenue and licenses. it is an enormous victory for the individual state come a states rights is. it's an enormous snake to refer

gambling in the casino industry. gerri: clearly it's a victory for states rights, but how about states pocket books. that's the bigger story. you look at what is going on with the states. pennsylvania to come online. west virginia to come online. what is the bottom line for the states in the industry? how much could they make. >> this guy is the limit. but to your point is about two things. you got the micro issues specific to the gambling industry in the states wanting to say wait a minute. if we want to make money off of this and collect tax revenue, if we want to participate in this, then we are going to then there's an enormous amount of money the states can make. but there's the bigger issue of states rights because what this supreme court ruling basically says is low, federal government. it is for the states to decide

how to regulate. the federal government, the constitution gave the federal government no power to tell estate what to do. it's like a grandparent telling a child something that the parent is supposed to be doing. >> mitch mcconnell helped write the original log in now he's going to put forward the legislation to make the legal rights. he'll be involved in both ends of the question. one of the big issues here in my view is what does this mean for fans at the end of the day? how will their experience change? >> certainly if you are a gambler, it's going to change your experience exponentially because now you can gamble legally. i think for sports fans who are not gamblers, i think we should be able to trust the leaps and to trust human nature, that this is not going to suddenly bring

jonathan hoenig at capitalistpig.com joins us now. good morning, jonathan. spin that great to be with you, cheryl. this is disastrous. this is really dangerous. it's really negative for amazon and starbucks and microsoft, but the seattle economy specifically. cheryl: will talk about some of that. amazon issued a statement about this. they're not pulling any punches. the city does not have a revenue problem. they have a spending efficiency problem. but they also said look, we've remained very apprehensive about the future in seattle. they're supposed to be building a new office tower. at this point they are picking up construction that they can change their mind. why go so antibusiness and bring tax revenue into your setting. >> about amazon, microsoft committees companies, seattle would be at fishing and timber

village. they are the one that brings the wealth, jobs, opportunity. if seattle's government wants to blame amazon in these other companies for the homeless problem, in fact they've created the homeless problem. they restricted supply the seattle area. you can't build any hives. just thinking california in san francisco there's a tremendous restriction of supply. they are putting up 7000 new jobs just in the past two years in seattle. there's tremendous demand for home, not a lot of supply. that's what's causing the homeless problem and they are blaming amazon. cheryl: they look at amazon and starbucks as well as a couple cash cows that can save them. let's not forget amazon is looking to open up a second headquarters. we don't know the final city yet. look at all of those that are begging him aside to come and be part of the city. i don't know why the city

council doesn't look good d.c., boston, new york, chicago, pittsburgh, dallas, l.a., atlanta. all of these cities gimmicks, tricks can the videos, please. amazon could walk away from seattle. they could. >> conceivably, even walk away from the united states. we seen a trend in the last couple years. just a $50 minimum wage. find a place that doesn't tax their business and impede their business as much. microsoft and amazon have made seattle but they will break if they walk as well. they've got the cash or the stores.

doorbell could allow people to spy on you. according to a report by the information, people logged into the doorbell up stay locked in even after the password has been changed. the act was updated in january to kick people off within an hour when a password is changed and required a new login. it doesn't kick users off immediately because that would slow the up down. cheryl: so much nervousness about these. >> don't get the password to anyone i guess. cheryl: new allegations against fiat chrysler. >> in the lawsuit filed by employees claims the automaker use illegal software in diesel powered cars to cheat on u.s. admissions test inhibit from regulators. the lawyer says internal chat rooms in which employees allegedly discussed the use of so-called defeat devices which are mission control components

future. the second as most people don't take the time to spend 15, 20, 30 minute. what am i going to need in retirement? the one failsafe design that you could implement, everyone of your viewers come to save 50% of your income over your working career and replaced 85% of income in retirement. trade to the study was expensive and covered a lot of ground. you found out 56% of people have not made a major financial decision or a small one in three years. not just buying a house, but looking at their 401(k). that's astonishing to me. >> paying off debt, student loans come in doing analysis an auto loan. the refinancing of their home. people postpone these decisions and the number one reason cited in the survey has to do with procrastination because of financial literacy. not completely understanding and

outside of d.c. gerri: fox senior meteorologist janice dean is here now with what we can expect today. more of the same ladies especially across the northeast now. we will see potential rain across florida. these are the storm report including tornadoes in florida. some of the same areas could get damaging winds and isolated tornadoes including millions of people. tens of millions of people could be potential for stronger storms later this afternoon. a lot of unstable air in front of the cold front and that's where we will see stronger storms. they made this afternoon and by tomorrow it will be out of here. for the mean while, don't watch or warning in your area. disturbance across the gulf of mexico. more heavy rain across florida and the southeast.

prices continued to move higher here. >> i think they'll actually go because a lot of what has happened is now priced in. the questions that still remain which could continue to list prices is whether opec and other producing nations fill the void left by iraq. it will depend on the sanctions imposed by the u.s. and also the u.s. shale industry as well, what that will still appear to question how much better to the upside, but there's so much still left open its heart at this point. cheryl: is there anywhere discussion in europe about how these other countries are going to handle the iranian situation with the u.s. pulling out of the deal. >> it's extremely difficult. the u.s. both have the scope and ability to impose sanctions with u.s. companies and therefore that is why the e.u. is now entering into talks with the
