>> north korea threatened last week to pull out of the summit and the president says kim jong un shift his dance after returning from china. listen to what the president said. >> i'm a little disappointed because and kim jong un had the meeting with president xi in china. i think there was little change in attitude and kim jong un. i don't like that. >> also calling xi a world class poker player. how should we deal with beijing? >> the other thing we heard recently is the north koreans are saying maybe kim doesn't want to travel because it is out of the country there will be a coup. we said this before. we negotiate with north koreans come you have to assume you don't know what they're thinking or what they'll do next. i just don't think we have good

visibility on this. with china, the key thing here is you can't link negotiations on north korea with the economic negotiation of china. on the north korea situation, in the economic debate we have significant cards. the president came down and lost $3 billion. we weaken ourselves if we link those together with an advantage to the north korea and chinese. we have to run this on separate tracks. a bit more of a roller coaster and people need to take a chill pill. tracee: north korea using similar type takes to shape the agenda raising hopes of a breakthrough sparking crisis. are they using strategy right now? >> we shouldn't care. we have a strategy in place that limits capacity of north korea to be a direct threat to the united states and its allies. as long as the strategies in place, we should let diplomacy
