the peninsula but if this is a country that doesn't want to come and denuclearize we're not going to go in and give some concessions and get nothing out of it. we'll just keep putting the pressure on him and at some point, it's going to get tough and there will be military action, because one thing this country is not going to do is let kim jong-un end up getting the capacity to deliver nuclear weapons to the american mainland liz: and we've got news coming in south korea now telling mike pompeo that it will not stop until north korea gives up its nuke. and president trump saying they're still talking right so he's tweeting out very good news , to receive this warm and productive statement from north korea we'll soon see where it will lead hopefully to long and enduring prosperity and peace only time will tell so what we're watching, governor and i'm not sure the democrats and the media and critics against trump understand this is transparency this is the art of the deal in realtime in action.
5:04 pm
>> it truly is if people had read donald trump's book they would have understood this is not a surprise. this is a person whose spent his entire lifetime putting deals on the table, deals that are good for him, but also deals that are good for the other person but if they don't like the deal, then donald trump is willing to stand up walk out of the room, wave goodbye and say that it's over, and so they need to understand, if they want to bring some type of stability to the kingdom if they want to be able to have some stability in their government, maybe not have the fear of military action, they got one chance, they got one chance, liz, if they blow it they blow it, and they will understand that trump is not a chump. liz: you know, we've been reporting the state of north korea is so dire, the gdp is smaller than half the size of vermont. we've been reporting how they don't have electricity and plumbing. well you know governor former president reagan to your point walked away from gorbachev and
5:05 pm
the soviet union collapsed five years later but here is the point. democrats like nancy pelosi and chuck they have really been going after president had for also walking away let's watch. >> we got the president's letter a copy of the president's letter, coupling up kind of like a valentine, you got the low ball recognition and regard. he's the big winner and they got this letter from the president saying okay, never mind, he must be having a giggle fit. liz: okay north korea has the capability for nuclear missile that could hit nancy pelosi's district. i'm not sure it's right to be breath takingly unserious at this moment governor especially when the summit looks like it could be back on. >> i would just ask liz is there any american and i mean this honestly democrat or republican who would rather have nancy pelosi go to that negotiating table and sit down with kim jong-un, or chuck schumer is there a person even the most partisan democrat if
5:06 pm
you could put truth in them not when they just say what they are going to say on tv because they got to say it and always stick together but is there anybody with iq above plant life that would like to see either one of those people go to that table and sit down and negotiate this? i can not imagine there would be anybody who thinks that's a good idea. liz: and i think, you know, we've been talking to a lot of people in d.c. the way to read nancy pelosi right now is she wants to make history. she wants to become the house speaker yet again and to do that she has to drive president trump 's approve a ratings down into the 20s, right in order to do that to take back control, but you know, his approval ratings now at 44, so it's not working. >> well it's not working in large measure because nancy pelosi has gone there and said the well who have got tax breaks and bonuses were just crumbs and those crumbs are putting kids through college. those crumbs are putting food on people's tables and buying cars, making house payments and it shows what an elitist knob she
5:07 pm
is. she just doesn't understand that a $2,500 bonus and $2 or $3,000 a year paycheck is a big improvement for most americans. maybe it's crumbs at her table but a good loaf for a whole lot of people in this country who do the heavy lifting and hard work something i don't know she would fully comprehend. liz: let's get to the fireworks between mike pompeo lashing out after the senator asked whether president trump has personal conflicts of interest and whether his foreign policy was guided by those conflicts let's watch. oh, we don't have the sound bite so sorry go ahead what's your reaction to that? >> well, udahl was so grand standing i've never seen such a winbag at the senate and there's a lot that show up at the senate every day, but for him to suggest that the president is not really serious

about trying to bring some deal to the table that brings peace and all he's doing is protecting his own commercial interest and he does it where some people are saying in all my life in politic s liz the one thing that irritates me more i can't think of it than when a person says some people are saying and always like to say well tell me who some people are. name them. how many are there? are there two? 15? a thousand? tell me when you say some, quantify that and of course they can't because they're making it up and that's exactly what udahl has donald good for mike pompeo to call him out on it and just not sit there and be a punching bag. liz: let's move on to so-called spygate as the president calls it top congressional leaders did meet with senior officials yesterday to go over classified information about the russia investigation reportedly republicans trey gowdy and devon nunes did not get the documents they wanted about that informant on the trump campaign. governor, the new york times reported there was an informant
5:09 pm
and even named him but cnn analyst jeffrey tubin and democrat adam schiff says it's a big nothing burger and some democrats say that informant does not even exist. what's your reaction? >> well he clearly exists the new york times has actually named him so you know if he doesn't exist, how does he have a name? more importantly, why was he spying on the trump campaign? and why is the material continually being redacted and not given in full to the oversight watchdogs in congress who have a constitutional authority to make sure they know what's going on and to hide that from them it's one thing to hide it from me or you or somebody out in the public eating breakfast tomorrow morning but you can not hide that from the members of congress who have the constitutional responsibility of oversight. i think at some point the president will have to order the material released. i think it's time and i know there's going to be well there could be some danger from that. liz the real danger is that we have our great republic robbed
5:10 pm
by people in the deep state who think that they own the government agencies and that they don't have to abide by the same laws and the constitutional duties that everybody else has to abide by. liz: i'm not sure they would be happy if trump was putting an informant on a corey booker campaign. the one question this is the one answer they need. was that informant paid, did the fbi pay him to talk to the trump advisors because if he was paid, then he's a spy. then, adam schiff and jeffrey tubin and anybody else can't say he's a confidential source because a source is not supposed to be paid right so they're hair splitting with the terminology. if they paid him he's a spy and to your point the wall street journal says there has been massive stonewalling of chuck grassley and ron johnson and other republicans in congress when it comes to perceived bias so to your point they're black ing out documents your reaction to that because these

guys in congress are getting really angry. >> they need to be angry. they need to be irate and live id. they need to never town down that anger because they have a right to know and it is not that they have some morbid cure it os id about it. it's that they need to find out is our government crooked just to be blunt? is the government crooked in the highest forms of what ought to be areas of law enforcement, intelligence gathering. if those areas are run by people who are dirty dealing, then we've lost the country and let's just not, you know, beat around the bush. liz: you're worried about the precedent and the standard set here is that what you're worried about? >> i'm worried about that if you have a government that can spy on people, try to influence an election, try to steal an election, try to infiltrate a campaign and not tell the candidate, the big question i think also has to be asked, why didn't the people in the surveillance tell donald trump
5:12 pm
we think you might have a mole inside your campaign, you need to be careful, russians are trying to infiltrate and they got some folks that they perhaps are influencing. the fact they didn't tell them to me is a haunting question that somebody's going to have to under oath bring an answer for. liz: and the president is now saying if there was collusion that informant or somebody would have leaked it we didn't hear about that it's an interesting argument governor thank you so much for coming on we really appreciate it. >> always a pleasure liz, thank you. liz: okay we gave you the heads up three weeks ago that oil prices were going to go down. remember we told you that? amid all this histeria over fears of supply, with problems in iran an venezuela and now look at this. oil has been plunging, taking the biggest nose dive in 11 months, down 4% to end the day at about $67 a barrel, but there is this story of course nothing drives people to insanity than high gas prices at the pump. a huge 41 million americans expected to travel this memorial

day weekend. we are seeing rising gas prices, they are the worst in these five states. california, hawaii, washington, alaska and nevada. let's get to jeff flock for the details. >> you know it's not as much fun driving around in a convertible on a hot day when you're stuck in traffic and that's just what's happening out here today. this is the traffic pattern in chicago actually if you're going north, in the lanes to our left, maybe you see they're moving pretty quickly but this way, a lot of folks memorial day travel i should point out the good news could be based on what you just reported, liz, is that gas prices, now we've got a little break too that's nice. gas prices could be in the future on the way down but they certainly haven't been up until now based on this oil sell-off today and this week. regular now 25% higher than it was this time last year. it's up now to 2.97 a gallon almost $3. it was $0.60 cheaper this time
5:14 pm
last year, so if you look at that, gas price chart you'll see a steady rise in gas prices over the course of the past six months or so, but you know what we see a trend at least in oil right now holds maybe we'll see a leveling off a little bit of gas prices as i said a little leveling off of the chaos on the road although we're hitting brake lights here again, worst times to travel at various spots across the country right now, well if you're on the east coast or in the central time zone, i'd say forget about it. you've already got problems. out to the west if you haven't left yet, do so now because if not you'll be seeing what we're seeing, brake lights and bumpers liz? liz: jeff you're amazing i can't believe you can record while you're driving. you can do a report in your sleep. jeff flock thank you so much for coming on that was a terrific story great to see you. >> sometimes i do sleep when i'm on the air.

lisa page. the fbi agreed to release to judicial watch 13,000 pages of undisclosed never before seen e-mails but here is the thing eric losing looks like slow-walk over the course of the release over two years your reaction to that? >> well, why? i mean that's really the question, why and what are they trying to hide if they are and to the extent that everything is exculpatory and there's no issue and no problem why would they not want to rule it out quickly and get it behind them and then the rule of crisis management is if you have nothing to hide get it out. put it out there, so that raises a lot of questions and those kinds of moves are what hurts credibility and credibility is at issue here whether it's over the spying side or whether it's over this that's what they need to deal with and that's why i think so many patriotic americans are beginning to really wonder what's up. they're really becoming skeptical because the facts just

are federal employees that essentially are able to work on union duties pretty much the majority of their workday, and that's been okay. that's been allowed. why we the taxpayers are allowing them to benefit some organization that really is there to protect them, so what donald trump is doing is he's bringing accountability. i have many different companies, liz, and you've got to be accountable to stay there and to work there and to perform. he's bringing accountability to whether it's in this situation with the unions or to ensure that you can fire people. that's what's going to make our government work effectively and actually take out the costs where taxpayers are not going to have to spend money and have it go up in flames and they're hard working dollars and i love it. i really think it's great. liz: last i checked there are 80 federal government unions, okay
