you may end up where you are heading. that's it for us tonight. see you tomorrow night. good night from new york. [♪] kennedy: roseanne barr started a national dumpster fire with her racially charged tweet and today the smoke blew all the way to the white house where the president accused abc of having a double standard. he said bob iger called valerie jarrett to let her know abc does not tolerate comment like those. gee, he never called president trump to apologize for the horrible statement made and said about me on abc. maybe i just didn't get the call.
12:01 am
>> where was bob iger's apology to jamel hill calling the president and anyone associated with him a white supremacist. to christians around the world for joy baher calling christians having a mental illness. and. where was the apologize for bob iger and espn hiring keith oberman after this tweets calling the president a nazi. this is the double and darted president is talking about. no one is defending her comments, they are inappropriate. but that is the point he was making. kennedy: roseanne returned to twitter to blame the whole thing on sleeping pills. saying, guys i did something
12:02 am
unforgivable, so do not forgive me. it was 2:00 in the morning and i was ambien tweeting. i made a mistake. i wish i hadn't. but don't defend it. that is shorthand for thank you. the ambien did not pass the sniff test with its manufacturer. they said they work to improve the lives of people around the world. while all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any sanofi medication. is the president right to call roseanne's firing a double standard? corey lewandowski is here.
12:03 am

12:04 am
no accountability for keith oberman just shows how out of touch bob iger is. they had a reporter who literally made up story. they didn't fire him. they gave him a couple weeks off. kennedy: is that what they should have done with roseanne? >> if you are going to fire roseanne. be consistent. you fire joy from the view and you fire keith oberman. but joy accused the christianity of being a cult, basically than is no accountability. she ended up apologizing which is what roseanne has done. kennedy: bob iger called her out publicly. and she was essentially forced to call vice president pence and apologize.
12:05 am
i want to ask you two things. should everybody be fired or should nobody be fired? it seems like we have to have a uniform measure of outrage which we don't have right now. which way do you think it should fly? >> it's a great question. bob iger called out joy, but he didn't call the vice president to apologize. but he called valerie jarrett. either everybody follows the same rules or nobody follows the rules. kennedy: which rules should we follow? and i mean that. it's really hard to offend me. i give come is a lot of leeway. i understand there is a line. you can't hurt kid and you can't be racist. i truly understand that. but when does it go too far? do you think kathy griffin
12:06 am
should have been fired from cnn for holding up the severed head of the president? >> comedy is one thing. but equating the president to be a nazi and saying he was part of the genocide of killing 7 million people is absurd. not only did they not fire him, think promoted him. kennedy: i think that's a bad move. ask anybody who has worked with keith oberman they will tell you he's a miserable a sack of garbage. and i don't understand how someone like that is employable. if you or i went around treating people the way keith obermann has treated people, knot not to mention women who accused him of things that are left out of the #metoo conversation, we never have a job again. it sounds like you are in favor
12:07 am
of firing everyone who offend someone. >> i'm actually in favor of firing nobody. but don't be selective. bob iger coming out and had to call valerie jarett to apologize when he didn't feel the need to call the president to apologize. he didn't feel the need to apologize to the president when there were comments made about christianity. be see ask call across the board. kennedy: i want to also make clear we are not talking about people being arrested or this kind of outrageous speech being illegal. it should never be illegal. that's why we have a first amendment. but we all know as much as i would love to wear a cellophane bikini, we have standard here at fox business. >> you choose to become an

12:10 am
i don't appreciate when celebrities say dumb things and blame it on alcohol or ambien. i can speak to a lot of people who have been plastered who have never been racist or anti-i -- anti-semitic. >> i think it takes away from the apology to make an excuse. there is a dissidence in society where you can criticize the white male. you can say awful things about white women, christian and jews. and we have a hyper sensitive environment when it comes to criticizing certain minorities. now we have a mob in punishment
