first election in 20 ford team. this is where it seems to be a free-for-all. four democrats have all raised about 500 grand. there's so many different candidates here. this is a prime example of how democrats could shoot the gulf. >> absolutely. one of those interesting seats that looks good on paper for democrats because again hillary won a number of seats in orange county. the reality is that particular seat more so than many seats in orange county is not really in play as much as others. not the least of which because you have a zillion different candidates on the ballot in the jungle primary and a number of different democratic candidates who can split the ticket. because they are well-funded, they are beating each other out. cheryl: to his pointer seven gop held districts that are quote, competitive today.

four of those are i onge county and i'm glad you brought that up. if you look at orange county, that has always been a republican stronghold in southern california. conservatives. that seems to be in play. at least some of those seats are. >> this is a challenge democrats have because they want to be strate we cannot be overly ambitious. some of the seats are going to be more competitive. you want to try to play in those seats because you want all opportunities. but we also cannot spread ourselves so thin where we are trying to be competitive in so many different places that essentially we had that been competitive in no place. particularly in open seas. with more unique circumstances like duncan hunter, for example, is an under investigation for some more unique specific circumstances that make some of these people little more track of for democrats.

but when you have these primaries where people are throwing everything but the kitchen sink out against one another, if you end up with two republicans, you'll take the seats out of play about the problem. cheryl: was good to talk about what's going on in new jersey for a couple seconds. especially the story of bob menendez under fire from a legal troubles you will. the whole lungs dori. this is a spot where potentially donald trump could actually clock a win because menendez is in new jersey now. >> generally and raises issues are what matter. the actual things that are dinner table conversation that are meaningful to everyday lives. in menendez case, menendez matters. allegations against menendez albeit not proving, those are real. not only that, they are being logged out by the democratic

opponent. i think that is a top-secret democrats, although traditionally it's a blue state. we'll see how that pans out. cheryl: wrote quick, capri, lisa mccormack is a publisher in his own primary and that is actually being considered competitive because of menendez legal trouble. either one of those is going to have to face robert kagan -- barbara cue canned, excuse me. this is a businessman. again -- >> we've seen businessmen be successful in new jersey previously in the context of democratic with corzine for example. it's an interesting place. it ise, but sometimes the low crossovelks like chris christie. this is really about of menendez because of the special circumstances that have her visit here everything whether it's new jersey or california it's about turnout and who shows
