misogynist and a racist. you can like president trump is a personal and not like his policies. he is not a racist and he is not misogynist and he should not be described as one particularly by such a distinguished office, the speaker of the british house of commons. i think the british public is to a degree being misled and in part by the premier of london who is replaced jones and the last election. he certainly not an islamic extremist and an islamic activist and raises as much controversy as a candidate for president so i wouldn't take it too seriously. seems to me the conversations went quite well in brussels and i'm sure he will get along splendidly with the queen. liz: let's get to nato and what

happened there. the media not happy with president trump asking the allies to pay their fair share for nato defense spending even though that's been a complaint. president barack obama said exactly what president trump said. nato needs to pay more. watch the media reaction though. i would like your reaction. president trump goes on the attack against america's closest allies. the president a blank but you could call, i know you are but one of my strategy. >> president trump spoiling for a fight and begin immediately with a tirade over -- tirade over brexit. >> the most inflammatory language i can imagine that the only beneficiary comes havoc is vladimir putin. liz: here are the facts nato will spend about a trillion dollars in the u.s. will cover 69% of that. nato secretary-general said yesterday the president is right

nato should invest more and will invest $266 billion more by 2024 and here's a president. listen. >> united states was not being treated fairly but that we are because the commitment has been up so much. i was very firm yesterday. you have to understand i know a lot of people in the room. i was here last year and i let them know last year and a less firm mather but very firm that the united states commitment to nato is very strong. liz: your reaction to this? >> you are asking me? look i think the president is doing what it needs to be done. it's not up to me to tell them how to say it but previous presidents have made the same point. they made the point diplomatically and didn't get anywhere. high time the europeans and canadians -- the canadians have been slackers. not all of them, not the british

nuclear establishment militarily. the danger is if you push them to heart and face and onto sharply you'll die them into the arms of china and iran. i've absolutely no fear that president trump is going to give away anything. he is a perfect right to meet with russia's president. there is nothing wrong with that but anyone who thinks trump is going to have his pockets picked or a spy putin, he is a clever man. he is a clever negotiator and he holds the cards. liz: you pointed out russia's economy is smaller than canada's. nato's chief was asked about this. he says he's okay with the president talking to russia. let's listen. >> are you concerned about his position going into the meeting with vladimir putin? >> the president is very direct but also has helped allies to a

5:12 pm
hold the leash to give the instructions while the americans hold the risk. that's not how alliances worked. america's allies don't like strong american president other than when they are under threat. they likes softer ones who speak with a softer voice. they are horrified by reagan when he came in at the end of the cold war. the fact is only the president of the united states has the duty and the ability to represent the national interest of the u.s. and the national interest of all of these countries to keep the lights going and keep it operating in a way that represents the correlation of forces between the member states and president trump is resurrecting the state of the u.s. being the alliance. is not breaking up the alliance and these not hostile. liz: ps clumsy hand headed rhetoric what the critics say but to your pointy shaking up the status quo and that's maybe why he's getting the reaction. >> the russians are used to

the new democratic tactic is. they are trying to shut down congressional oversight. they are doing so by interrupting and interrupting trey gowdy multiple times. they are doing so by calling for a recorded vote. peter strzok is to answer questions which is why they work turning to the fbi lawyer. there was no ruckus republicans. liz: democrats were interrupting a lot. trey gowdy accused peter strzok about not just obstructing the probe talking about hillary clinton's victory and donald trump's punishment texting about trump's impeachment when his days of the fbi probe launched before interviewing any witnesses. your reaction to that. >> peter strzok trying to claim that he is not biased and for

5:22 pm
>> that's exactly right in somehow a magically remembered that he said it at night. he doesn't recall sending it in later he said he is scented at night. one thing that i quickly want to bring up this happen is you're going to air liz the cia lawyers said he was allowed to answer one question. he added their bruce orr the justice department individual who is married nelly orr who works for fusion gps he admitted that bruce orr gave documents to the fbi but not say whether it was a documentary that's pretty striking. political organizations feeding a dossier to a justice department official. that would be pretty striking. liz: this story is not over. kayleigh mcenany thank you. we have the proof that they are doing that only ring in that stein is going to chime the next and is fired up about this one.

liz: the president announced that to everyone that nato agreed to quote substantially up their military spending so it is far from clear that anyone agreed to spend more than they had planned to or even defended even a sinner but as for the summit sum of the one european diplomat described it is not clear it would happen any sooner than the already agreed-upon target. despite present tense claim that nato allies have agreed to increase defense spending because of his pressure, the president has provided no proof of that commitment. liz: then nato secretary-general would fail. those ports are flat-out wrong. i was a media blasting president trump saying nato allies did agree to increase spending because of his pressure. sinead achieve sultan burg saying president trump said the

5:28 pm
thought here but with the greatest possible respect have never seen a more disgraceful performance in what the democrats are doing today. it's absolutely disgraceful, rages beyond belief, insulting. it insulting the democratic process and just disgraceful. to get to your main subject in fact it's hard data that the nato allies are spending more that's president trump has been nagging him about. it is extremely high time for the nato allies to our rich countries to be spending more specially germany which is a disgrace. liz: nato defense spending is a trillion dollars and the u.s. cover 69% of that. what is your take on the media coverage of this not reporting all of these facts? >> the media coverage is that they will do anything make trump look stupid and appear impotent.
5:29 pm
there is no limit to the media's hostility to mr. trump and it doesn't matter whether the facts stand in the way or not. they will go after him and it's really an extraordinary shame the media in this country has become so wildly one-sided and so wildly in opposition of the facts. liz: ben president trump and the first lady and angle it. president trump brought up the issue of immigration and said the uk is in turmoil. his rhetoric is being criticized right now. what is your reaction to that? >> britain is suffering an incredible wave of -- it's been documented that over and over again. it's documented in "the news york times" over and over again and i don't understand why the british are not more upset about it. apparently they are not allowing

5:39 pm
i sat here today liz and it just killed me watching this thing. it was a circus, the democrats with their usual circus act but to see them sitting there with that smirk on his face and hear all of his text messages read and have trey gowdy and others put this thing in time and date order, he's trying to push himself off as having political thought like everybody does but he's basically full of it liz. liz: do you think he was bias at the fbi? >> oh my god, how much more biased can you be? we don't have all the details liz but we are going to find out a lot more if anyone gets off of their dead behind at the justice department. we have to compel testimony before the grand jury. we have to get others involved in this we before the grand jury

liz: fbi peter strzok being interviewed about his bias. we are bringing in fred lawrence and the "fox business" contributor. what was your reaction to today's fiery hearing? >> look, one reaction in particular cannot compare peter strzok to ollie north. i watch those hearings and here's how the witness becomes sympathetic. strzok was not sympathetic. ollie north was sympathetic trait he went over the nation and you know how that happens? it when you tell the truth. when you are not telling the truth you are not a sympathetic person and it doesn't come through that you are.
5:47 pm
that was the problem with strzok showing up in the first place but i guess he didn't have a choice. he was subpoenaed in bed as he was not telling the truth. nobody could believe after reading those powerful e-mails, so powerful talking about stopping trump and certainly they were talked about in the hearing today and believed that he could just put all of that aside. i can't do that liz now that you can't do it. liz: he really had to cut his credibility when he said i can't recall about the text we will stop the trump campaign and then he did recall it and described it was 11:00 at night after president candidate trump with the family. congressman bob goodlatte asked him this question. what was he doing sending it text message saying this about barack obama or hillary clinton?
5:48 pm
what if the agent was investigating you and he said f obama, obama was a disaster. or are we going to stop the clinton campaign? doesn't that put the principle in play that is the issue? >> of course. i think the grand jury would have had to been called as there would have been an assumption somebody was e-mailing that are saying that privately and it was not covered and they were just rifled with bias. why did hillary get so many breaks and the fbi didn't get tough with her. liz: to your point peter strzok did work on that language saying it's not gross negligence about her e-mails. it's extreme recklessness. here's peter strzok fighting with trey gowdy and i want your reaction to this. >> your testimony is bob mueller did not kick you off is that the content of your tax.
