-- consumer spending. strengthening and the job in the job market all under my name. they do see economic growth fully down a bit in the second half of the year. from the torn pays a 4.1 percent in the second quarter. they do expect growth to remain above trend. on inflation. the close to their 2% target. they temporarily see it overshooting in part because it increases in pricing during -- due to tariffs. the negative effects from trade and agriculture prices could offset some of that. speaking of trade fed officials say that white businesses are concerned about it. they have not yet the -- cut spending or hiring. if it is prolonged they could eventually cut spending and hiring. if they become widespread that could hurt u.s. consumer purchasing power. for now it's not hurting the economy overall.

i thought that was what i needed to do. we got our orders to go overseas and i went to baghdad, iraq. we were transporting a bomb sniffing dog to the polling stations. we rolled over two anti-tank mines, it blew my humvee up, killed my sergeant. after the explosion, i suffered a closed head injury, um, traumatic brain injury, loss of a limb, burns to 60% of my body. when the doctors told me i reached my plateau, i did not want to hear that because i do not believe i have a plateau. so, i had to prove 'em wrong, which i am doing to this day and i will still do until the end of my days. i've gotten to where i am at because of my family. and, the wounded warrior project has helped me more than i can ever imagine.

>> what did you make of the release and fed minutes yesterday afternoon. i think they're taking a very balanced look at things. they realize it may just be temporary. literally watching what's going on with trade and tariffs. if that derails the economy they will slow down. in effect on $15 billion in additional chinese imports. in u.s. imports. what the tariffs you. they release prices for consumers. and then you have the fed who has since december 15. already hiked rates seven times. if they continue to do so to combat inflation created by a potential trade war do you think that could hurt the economy.

when prices go up in consumer spending is two thirds of the economy. once again i think the fed will take some of their pushoff if they think of the economy is hurting. and that slows down too much. >> what do you expect to hear from john -- and jay foul. i think he will stick to the script that's very similar to the minutes. all the upside potential. the fed is not creek deck anymore. do you feel that the way the president is lane on will affect his messaging.

good morning. i think jeff actually bought a combine at that thing. >> besides the fact that the farmers are saying we trust the president. were down $50 billion and tariffs. there talk about another $200 billion. what is the market can a truly react to this. they artie talked about in their last meeting. you would never know that the tariffs were kicking in. the u.s. dollar is actually trickling back up. these are all things that you want to think would happen with another level of tariff kicking in. and at just not that high of tariff. a lot of the items were freaking out about. it could be eaten by the system. as a 25% tariff which is what is coming down the line on $200 billion. that serious business.

there is a perverse boost going on here. they don't want to raise rates fast because they're worried about the next stage of a trade war if it spreads in other countries. and as artificially boosting stocks. there's not that much drag from the tariffs but there is a boost of industry which might be higher if or not are not on the end of the trade war. i've seen it with the cradle to the coffin and everything in between. chinese made pumps are part of the $16 billion. a lot of industrial machinery. i think to your point that maybe these are went to be the full effect. but the $200 billion that were talking about comes up possibly in september. that will be the story. what about the market though. the stock market is taking a big hit. and there's a lot of pressure.
