to invest in companies and r&d and more hiring or -- if it is more focused on stock buyback things that don't benefit long-term growth of a corporation. what do you say? >> well, there's no question that there's been a lot of money going into buybacks the estimate right now is that we could hit a trillion are dollars in buybacks for this year. but i don't think that necessarily tells the whole story. corporations have a significant amount of cash. their earnings are very strong. i think maybe a little too rosy to think we can get both and investment because we have seen data indicating that corporations are are increasing their capital investments. this actually goes back then to the whole consumer confidence -- report if this is the seen opportunity to increase revenues, and profits through capital investment i think they'll do that. one of the key things there is the state of the consumer. >> which the consumer is confident hopefully that equates

because what we're talking about now, the united states has made a deal with mexico. that's going to put pressure on canada because two out of three north america are now onboard. so what does this mean for canada? it means they need to join the team and a come together. they're the odd man out. so right now the president interestingly where most leaders may say we have a good dell and invite canada to join us and make this a really great deal for everybody. he turns around and says, it is the carrot and stick either you get onboard or 20 to 25% tariff on autos. >> that doesn't sound like a compromise or negotiation to me that sounds like ultimatum. >> that's the trump method right because he comes out swinging. he negotiates very, very hard. and then it is up to you meaning the opponent to try to figure out how to find common ground

>> john let's talk about trump is he now the king maker and chief it is particular this upset was pretty big if you look at the numbers here. 55.7% to -- to a much lower showing from putnam. is this the trump bump? >> it is the trump bump president trump enjoying support of 80% of republicans. so his endorsement carries a lot of weight. distinctly with regard to that race, mr. gillum only one 34-had 41 in four-way race and barely won in palm beach account and if you total up from democrat side all of the republican votes exceeded total democrat votes cast by 100,000 in that primary yesterday. >> i want to show you have you listen to what he had to say about what his next in the race in november. listen to this. >> he is the most liberal candidate that the democratic party has ever nominated in the

state of florida by a country mile in a governor's race. he wants to abolish i.c.e., he wants a billion dollar tax increase. he wants single payer health care system in florida which would bankrupt the state. i'm trying to make florida even better. he wants to make florida venezuela. >> andrew gillum is far left brad, he is not netsly registered socialist but bernie sanders is right behind him. is is that going to really fly in florida in november? >> i think it will be an interesting race desantos is far right and not exactly a friend but i know him some. he spent his whole life positioning himself to be the establishment choice to move forward in -- in florida politics. he was in the house i wases in congress with adam. and then it learned that what he ryed to be all of his life was now a bad thing it will be interesting to see how well

sinema had a free run and did well in head-to-head polling because she wasn't taking any incoming fire but can she consolidate republican party in arizona while still appealing to enough moderates to make this largely red state continue its character and continue to elect republicans to this senate? >> we're going to have our first female senator? arizona either way. that wherever that race goes in november real quick i have to head -- go to oklahoma really quick brad. i thought this was a bit of a surprise, businessman it was actually -- in politics frankly a newcomer he went against mick a very successful mayor in oklahoma city, and he criticized him for not being trump enough. brad it worked. >> i don't really know oklahoma politics i wasn't following that race but that's happened around the country that was a story of delaware desantos against adam and story elsewhere and martha mcsally fell all over herself to get to

week executives will be at that senate hearing in d.c. and talking about russia meddling and lawmakers will grill them about rigging their sites or -- not being friendly to conservative points of view on their site how do you expect that to play out? >> i think they're in a point to about a year, or year and a half ago yowtd article as that were published talking about how facebook employee were talking about how they suppressed conservative view points, and these companies once again did not really respond. you have jack dorsey from twitter go out ton a twitter he was on your show here an tried to kind of make amends but right now these companies don't respond in a quick manner. these are black boxes that they're dealing with so apparently they're not supposed to have any bias. but, obviously, you have to prove that. j google ceo says we never rank search results to manipulate political sentiment but you have

to imagine that heading into the midterm elections, the executives at the major tech companies are going to think twice about what is popping up on their site. >> i would agree with with that. and you have to remember a lot of them are open for one party or another so that brings bias or perceived bias into equation but in reality once again these are are black boxes and when you're looking at these companies, i mean, they should open themselves up otherwise you're looking always having that question be posed. >> what are ways that trump administration can make it difficult for let's say goggle to do business? how does he make life tough for these companies? dges well they're supposed to be nonbias so just by raising that fact now all of a sudden there's the thought that these companies are biased in some way shape or form so you really need to come clean and either open yourself up, or basically come out and explain how these black boxes work and what you are doing to counteract any i too of bias.
