authorities say florence will still bring 12 feet of storm surge and bring two or three feet of rain as it may stall off the coast and slowly move inland. >> storm surge is not a problem just along the coastline. it is going to be a major problem way up to the streams and the tributaries. this is a very dangerous storm. >> lou: flood rescue teams with the coast guard, national guard, state and federal agencies with resources as the storm moves on. the center of the eye is expected to make landfall tomorrow afternoon. joining us now to talk about preparations for hurricane, south carolina congressional candidate katie airington. great to have you with us. for everyone in south carolina, the carolinas, virginia, you know, we are obviously concerned for you. and how do you feel the preparations are going there tonight? >> well, i couldn't say more

for the for, what we have done with the county and the state legislators and the communication with the emergency management divisions. it's been absolutely breath-taking to see how much care and precaution we're taking for each other. we really care about each other in south carolina. >> lou: well, you care about each other and the president and fema i know have been moving resources into position right along with the first responders from the carolinas, the national guard. what is your sense of the level of preparation overall? >> well, i have to give it once again, credit to the governor. congressman tom rice, mark sanford, senator scott, they have all made sure that the fema representatives have been on the ground for days. i would say they were here monday. the advanced warning for people to evacuate, well received. it does hurt economically but you know, one life lost is one life too many. this storm is nothing to mock. it is definitely coming in.

hanging out as long as it is going to over south carolina, it will cause a tremendous amount of damage with flooding. on the inland areas more than on the coast. >> lou: in the midst of all of, this it's politics and everyone in your state will be judging just how well the governor does, how well the state government does. the president, fema, the federal authorities. it's a highly, highly politically charged moment. and we know that it will be a political football, if you will, for the democrats and one to regard for the republicans. your thoughts on that issue as well? >> well, i will say absolutely. i mean, you look at strong red state. we are doing everything we can to protect life. i will say in the governor's race, governor henry mcmaster suspended his campaign and his opponent james smith was called up to the national guard. so they are both deeply

involved and taking care of the state on this issue. but i live in a republican area. i'm proud of the work that has been done. this has been years of training. we have been training for this since hugo and we have gotten really good at it. i was over filling sandbags this afternoon with a local fire department and learning about how they rotate. we have all the exits blocked off because we are doing one-way traffic. and the fire engines are rotated every two hours. you never know where they are coming in from. you think about that level of detail to having fema on the ground, community emergency management. this state really knows what they are doing. we take our lives, our brothers and sisters in this state's lives seriously. one life lost is too many for us in south carolina. >> lou: absolutely. any part of this country. let's turn to the politics as you move toward election day. less than two months from now in the midst of all of this. are you feeling strong and

confident? >> i feel very good about our race. my campaign, the team. we are doing phenomenally well. this past week i had three major fundraisers that due to the evacuations are being postponed. so, you know, everybody is looking at the dollar figures as you go in the end of the month of september. so that is important that we keep raising the money. but i have, i'm still knocking on doors. today was sandbags and delivering to the people that didn't have an opportunity to go out and get them. that, you know, interaction with people, it's so strong. from my accident to now, it is amazing the love that i get from south south carolians. >> lou: we are delighted to see you healthy and strong and ready for the difficult work of carrying out a successful campaign. katie arrington. good luck to the storm and all of you. >> can i add one quick thing? i have dear family if

president trump says death toll number estimates in puerto rico have been driven by politics, by the national left wing media and the dimms. the president tweeted this, this morning -- "3,000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit puerto rico. when i left the island, after the storm had hit, they had anywhere from six to 18 deaths. as time went by, it didn't go up by much. and then a long time later they started to report really large numbers like 3,000. this was done by the democrats to make me look as bad as possible when i was successfully raising billions of dollars to help rebuild puerto rico. if a person died for any reason, like old age, just add them on to the list. bad politics. i love puerto rico!" the president, by the way, is right. the study the president alluded to is one produced last month by the milken institute at george washington university. almost a year later, the number went from 65 people

killed to 2,975 people attributed to the storm. the finding wasn't the result of a death toll count, a body count, nor a study of death certificates but a public health study that subtracted the number of people who theoretically died over the same period from the number of people who were reported dead over that period. after the report came out on august 28, last month, puerto rico's democratic governor officially revived the death toll from 65 to the new estimate. and why did he choose to trust that study? why not the harvard study back in june that found deaths related to the hurricane fell within, well, a narrow range. are you ready? a narrow range from about 800 to more than 8,000 people. by the way, that is also an abstract and unconnected to any evidence estimate that

even the liberal "washington post" found ludicrous. and why did two florida republicans locked in tight races distance themselves today from the president over this issue? governor rick scott tweeted he agrees with the puerto rican governor. ron desantis' campaign sent out a statement saying desantis is committed to standing with the puerto rican community, especially after a tragic loss of life. he doesn't believe any loss of life has been inflated. obviously, the two men don't care that the numbers aren't related to facts. nor do they care about how those numbers were arrived at. the numbers were inplaited. -- inflated. the president was right to call the organization who threw out science, statistics and evidence to discredit the trump administration. radical dimm senator dianne feinstein stooping to new lows today in an effort to smear

court reporter nominee brett --o smear supreme court nominee brett kavanaugh. you won't believe there. there is a letter of allegations of kavanaugh with a woman when they were in high school. feinstein released a statement saying this -- "i have received information from an individual concerning the nomination of brett kavanaugh to the supreme court. that individual strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or to press the matter further. and i have honored that decision. i have, however, referred the matter to federal investigative authorities." how she can reconcile those two thoughts is beyond me. feinstein had the letter since july. but decided to make it known rather inconveniently just today. it is time for senator chuck grassley, the chairman of judiciary committee to stop this kind of ignorance and move to get feinstein off the

senate judiciary committee. this is pure politics and evil politics at that. joining me now, strategist for great america pac, former reagan political director, the savant himself, ed rollins. let's start with dianne feinstein. what do you make of that? >> it's just an outrageous statement. the bottom line, if she had letter with july why didn't she share it with the other members of the committee or say is there something you want to say to me privately? this is an outrageous charge. he tried to say he was gambling because he had baseball tickets for his friends to go to the nationals. this poor guy -- >> lou: when we say "this poor guy," he is one of the wished injury -- distinguished jurists in this country. his name is being dragged through the mud.

grassley is being played for a fool. >> i was going to finish my thought. he has had four or five f.b.i. checks and the highest security clearance by the f.b.i. >> lou: confirmed by the full senate a few years ago. >> all the charges and we can't respond and there are no facts. this is ridiculous. feinstein should be censured for it. >> lou: i think she should be taken off the committee. why would the republicans put up with the nonsense? why should grassley put up with it? >> i said many times the senate is a club. they don't discipline themselves very often. >> lou: somebody should discipline them because this is, this is just ignorance at the highest level. i cannot imagine -- the dimms should have the integrity to reject this kind of -- >> and forever now, i think this candidate perform superbly, the judge did. but when you throw the things out there and you don't have a chance to rebut them, they will stick. they will keep moving it in

their game. he will be on the court. he will be affected by it. we saw it with clarence thomas many years ago. there was no evidence there. to a certain extent it's part of the cost of being on the court and shouldn't be. >> lou: let's turn to another matter of considerable ignorance. a number of institutions, including academic institutions, whether at george washington university or what vard. the school of public policy coming up with the ridiculous projections of a death count, body count from hurricane maria. this is just astonishing. for two candidates, rick scott running for the senate against bill nelson. ron desantis running for governorship. to sit there and say they decide against the reality and against the president to me is just beyond the pail. >> desantis would not be on the ticket if it wasn't for

the president's endorsement. scott was the for. the reality is the democrats are playing to puerto ricans who moved to this country, moved to florida, politics rate. they not for us anyway. at the end of the day, the president is accurate. the group doing the estimate would say you and i weigh between 100-10 -- 100 to 300 pounds. i do statistics all the time. this is the most absurd thing i have seen. >> lou: the national left wing media blindly took the numbers an jumped when the puerto rican governor decided to use them for whatever his political purposes. they have no foundation in fact. there is no fact based count here that is worthy of discussion. >> but again, they will use it in florida, use the community. any new puerto ricans that proved to florida to rev them up and make them up. >> lou: that is ignorance beyond belief again because here is a president who

devoted more resources to puerto rico than as far as i know any president has provided before. >> he literally has rebuilt the island. rebuilt the electrical system. >> lou: the national left wing media should find some way to muster the integrity to report those facts. we'll turn quickly. kevin mccarthy, donations from goldman sachs. the suggestion put forward here that paul ryan, the lame duck speaker who retired in place, is hanging around like an albatross around the republican conference going into the midterms until he can be assured that kevin mccarthy will be the next speaker. your thoughts? >> kevin mccarthy is the next speaker he will need 218 votes. he doesn't have at this point and didn't have the last time he tried. the reality is he can't make it happen. if it will happen, it will happen. but the serious thing is the charge he made today saying to the republicans you can't get

center, that they were using, violated twitter's hateful content policy. that is right. hateful content policy. the hateful terms were "illegal alien." or "criminal alien." guess what? today twitter finally approved those tweets. twitter has recently banned users, some users from life over speech that it doesn't like. shadow ban prominent conservatives and the republican lawmakers. earlier this year, conservative accounts complained twitter purged many of their followers. it looks like twitter coming to its senses. for that, we can at least applaud. joining me now former federal prosecutor and awe for of " -- author of "license to lie" sydney powell. thank you for being with us. what is your response for twitter deciding what is free speech and deserving of respect?

>> twitter seems to have a big problem with the first amendment. and and also the united states code that includes "alien" throughout it in describing people that fall under the categories of several different federal statutes. and uses the term "criminal alien" as you mentioned. "unauthorized alien" and people long referred to people who are not supposed to be in the country as "illegal aliens." it's not discriminatory at all. i have tried to find what they might like better. i've come up with "nuciem" from the planet venus. >> i don't know if it will work. i dote want twitter. i don't want facebook or anybody telling me what i can say and let them determine what is my intent and what is my first amendment right. twitter is trying to make the

case for regulation of twitter. that is a shame as well. >> they are silencing a lot of conservatives, lou. he's really serious. i have been shadow banned. a lot of people i know has been shadow banned. it happens all the time. it happens on other social media outlets, too. >> lou: the american people shouldn't put up with this. as a matter of fact, i'm watching the republican congress and i have to tell you i'm at my wits' end when i look at the republicans are tolerating and what they will not exert influence toward. and preserving free expression seems to elude the leadership. paul ryan or mitch mcconnell, they don't want to get involved because it's messy, you know, to defend the constitution. >> it's even messier to go down the slippery slope to allow twitter to make these kind of decisions. >> lou: let's turn quickly to lisa strozk -- excuse me,

peter strozk and lisa page. once again, leaking and then peter strozk's attorney trying to make the case that strozk was referring to stopping leaking, not encouraging and orchestrating it. >> of course he wasn't! that is why there is a chart in the inspector general's report that had to diagram all the f.b.i. leaks. they were leaking like a sieve. so was d.o.j. we have confirmed reports and admissions of leaking by bruce ohr and lisa pagement we know mccabe leaked. i was part of their strategy to create this entire false russia collusion narrative. they made it from whole cloth. >> lou: how frustrated would you be if you were this president? i just, i'm sitting here watching this. we have now all sorts of evidence of the corruption of the department of justice, the f.b.i., their leadership

rancid and toxic with political corruption. not a scintilla of evidence, no evidence of collusion as the senator attested yesterday. the chair of the senate intelligence committee. it is time to shut this down, as the president says. what in the world is it going to take? must he fire mueller? must he fire rosenstein? must he fire jeff sessions and move ahead? this is endangering his very presidency. we are paying a price for it in terms of -- i mean this president has been immensely unprecedentedly successful. but we are talking about national security and the good of the nation going forward. >> we are. it's been a huge waste of time and resources that could have been devoted to real crime-fighting. i think it's getting very close to time if not past time for him to fire rosenstein and christopher wray.

you have to remember that both of them are being advised -- or are lawyers that engaged in some of the misconduct themselves. for example, dana belente, the general counsel for the f.b.i. and giving wray advice is one of the people that signed the phony fisa applications as was rosenstein who gave him the advice to fire comey. it's incestuous. >> lou: is it time to fire mueller? >> it would probably be better for next person that takes rosenstein's job. >> lou: up next, a newly leaked video shows google executives, they were so bereave and they shouldn'tover come the depression after the 2016 presidential election which hillary clinton much to their shock and dismay did not win.

three weeks ago. when he did come to the president's assistance with one statement. but then in very short order now he has flipped again back to the same old line of repeating what mr. warner wants him to say. it's sad. it's a pathetic situation. >> lou: it is sad. and burr has just thrown his -- i mean he has put his entire career in the ditch. it's just, he is, it's just amazing to me that he could just turn over the committee to the democrats, throw reason and decency to the wind and go after a sitting president the way they have. it's stunning to me how the people of north carolina can put up with such atrocious conduct. let's get to the fisa documents. >> sure. >> lou: the president apparently facing something of a contest within his own legal

team. emmet flood who is in the white house counsel's office apparently trying to stop the president from releasing those documents. at least those are the reports. your thoughts? >> look, the answer is extreme transparency. the president needs to get every single document he possibly can out. lawyers are built to minimize exposure. i get that. but in this case, the president is being harassed at a level no one has ever seen before in a presidency. the more he gets out, the faster he gets it out, the more the american public will be educated about the level of obscene corruption. that is frankly what the department of justice and the f.b.i. are terrified of. it's also precisely why particularly given the new revelation, the reporting by catherine herridge, mr. meadows' revelations. look, rosenstein needs to be fired tomorrow morning. that is the answer. that fixes about 9 i 10 --

9/10 of the mueller hysteria and the corruption with the f.b.i. the president should get up in the morning and the first order of business is fire rosenstein. get it over with. >> lou: the politics make it difficult in his calculation. >> it does. >> lou: i think at some point decency has to prevail here. and it's not going to be assisted by either mitch mcconnell or paul ryan because they just as soon this president not succeed. >> your analysis is correct. but rosenstein is sitting on top of a criminal conspiracy. he has got to go. >> lou: and at this point, how does that happen? >> rosenstein would be fired. the president has grounds for it. look, rosenstein is a fact witness. he is disqualified in the very case for which he nominated moore to -- nominated mueller

to conduct the investigation. the supposed spying of comey and the russian collusion nonsense which has now turned out to be a big goose egg. rosenstein is so conflicted, no disqualify bud he sits in this position supposedly supervising and conducting oversight of mueller's investigation. it's the same guy presiding over the same disaster where the f.b.i. and d.o.j. does nothing and the american public has to rely on the work of catherine herridge, devin nunes, meadows and judicial watch. they know how bad it is and they are sitting on it. that is why rosenstein needs to go as soon as humanly possible. >> lou: and yet, you have the chair of the senate intel committee who doesn't have the guts to say, "it's over." that is how much of a feckless tool he is. and instead of standing with the president of united states. >> agreed but the president has the authority to do it as the chief executive.
