attention to whews going on with these trade negotiations. >> you know it's interesting i don't think so. we have a new set of circumstances that lined up to get us used to what's going on in china. three things to think about is first and foremost if you look the what has been placed in terms of tariffs on china and it is effect on u.s. economy, it adds up to about 35 billion dollar so juxtapose that against a 18 trillion economy it is not that large yet. we also think that there are pieces of this latest round that look like we want negotiate so started at 25% instead of 10% and a don't roll over until turn of the calendar so room. but i think that's what market republican wants to set this table working this out. third thing is economy continues to be so resilient that market seems to be okay in the near tomorrow with what's going on in trade because of the fact that we've got a stronger economy so i think all of those thingses are in place to keep the market chugging along.

know inflation is below 2% if you look at feds preferred target right -- so you know, maybe, maybe it is going it be a slow go next year. who knows. but in the interim we know we're talking china trades and, obviously, walking away from table today we're not having kftions with him not in the near material anyway. will that influence what the fed says today or wednesday and thursday. >> i thinkst there is some impact but overall a 20 trillion economy here in the united states and we'ring looking at a difference of about somewhere in the neighborhood of -- 50 billion dollars in overall change with trade with china with these tariffs. and you have to remember you have to play the the long game with china and what's what trump administration is trying to do. >> you know, we're seeing pressure on wages building that's a major input into inflation crane operator hotel housekeepers folk arranged country asking for more money higher wages unions see leverage

with canes. is that going to be important in the feds's calculation going forward? >> that and a number of other factors if we're looking at productivity starting to improve -- that's something that offsets the wage increases that are potentially out there. the other thing you have to remember is when you start getting to point where labor is starting to take a bigger share, that's when capital investment start to increase and starts cycle where more creates more jobs which is label to allow -- wages to increase. and everyone ingas from that. >> everyone gains from that. yeah more spending by companieses more hiring great news -- i want to get you back, though, to december right we talked about what's happening this week with the fed. what do you see that's baked in the cake for a december rate hike? >> fed wants to get become to a normalized area to have more tools incase there's a downturn in the future that they're able to go into their tool box and basically be able to cut rates and spur economic growth ppg >> gust thanks for coming on the

and the creator of make america great again etf also found ire of point bridge capital. gentlemen, good morning. >> good morning. >> hal i want to start request you here. how the gop handles this is a defining moment, no? >> absolutely. i think if they don't confirm judge kavanaugh, it is beginning to be very negative for republicans in the midterms i think they lose the house. that i think potentially go from picking up seats in the senate to actually losing the senate. so the base heavily support kavanaugh and senator feinstein is politicized this issue she held, secretly held this letter for weeks and weeks and spring it is out at the last minute now stalled out process which is exactly what they wanted. and i think it is up to a very negative precedent forward for future supreme court nominations because this could happen going forward all of the time every time they're right before a vote, someone could spripg out allegation against somebody, and cause a delay and cause that person reputation to be hurt forever. and so i think it is a very negative thing. and if you look at what's happened to judge kavanaugh this

happened when he was up for the u.s. -- appellate court in the district. he's nomination was stalled out for three years in appellate court and this allegation never came forward during that time. so this is very political, and it is, obviously, going to be a negative for republicans they don't get him confirmed. enings one of the issues howard let me bring you in here is that more women believe christine blassy ford and suburban more believe her latest poll from fox news shows 38% of women believing dr. ford. what do you make of that? that trump -- that team trump essentially has a problem with women and that could be a -- shown in the midterms. >> absolutely. i think -- well for a number of reasons women l believe that dr. ford, obviously, this is a credible allegation or the senate wouldn't be taking it in and committee wouldn't be taking it serious sly but i think women know and i think men know as well after the the admin of the me too movement to up to -- you know up end one's life to

make this to family and friends, to deal with all that happens in their office and invite threats of bodily harm is a very serious thing to consider. it is from what we've been -- reported it is not so much that senator feinstein withheld letter but from with request wasn't to keep it confidential but it sounds like it is credible thus far and find out on thursday. >> hal, how should much should republicans support their nominee? and it's -- if he is withdrawn or doesn't get confirmed do you think republicans will fit out and not go to polls because they don't think they can get anything done? is that a risk? >> that is a high risk and exactly what democrats have tried to do here. so no i do think it is very difficult. it is a difficult situation. she is going to be heard. i think that poll will see what happens after we hear her testify. if she does, and we'll see what happens after judge kavanaugh

comes back before the committee but i think the credibility at that point will be looked at on both sides and people have to make a decision. i suspect people will see judge calf kavanaugh a great justice and decent man his whole life and allegations it is not surprising more allegations coming out now because that's of course a pattern that would happen. anybody can say anything -- for 35 years, it is a he said, she said it is very difficult to prove either way. >> i would like to give you final thoughts here. >> sure i think, obviously, the poll numbers that we've seen thus far from most recent poll are going to be going in the wrong direction for judge kavanaugh. i don't imagine that new accusers with more credible threats will bode well for him or for senate committees i imagine this -- nomination very well may be derailed. >> howard franklin we appreciate you. thank you. interesting stuff. coming up in sports everybody loves a comeback. >> i just didn't know if i could, you know, piece together --
