school i think all of us have probably done things that we look back on in high school, and regret or cringe a bit. but that's not what we're talking about. we're talking about allegations sexually assault i've never sexual assaulted anyone or had sexual intercourse or anything in high school or for many years thereafter -- >> do you think -- in interview like that is helping or hurting him now? >> look i think that he's faced with -- a lot of us -- snowball of allegations right so we don't just have dr. ford anymore. we have the latest that came out in "new york times." we also have michael saying that there's somebody else out will. so he's trying to get ahead of it. i do think that this interview was helpful, and look, it just has to be consistent with what he ultimately says under oath that's always the fear from a legal perspective when you you go out into the media and make statements before you know you're going to be locked in

with testimony. j it is interesting you brought up that michael saying there could be a third accuser here. because quietly we're hearing that some democrats are trying to distance themselveses from michael stormy daniels attorney, because it shall as we have all of these allegations sometimes without witnesses without proof coming forward this can do major damage i guess in thes might not want it to backfire on them. >> it sounds like that might be the case because michael comes out with these allegations right somebody else is coming forward. we don't know who it is we don't know circumstances or if there's anything to corroborate it. it is attorney's job to vet these types of situations to make sure that there's some story. not just the fop different stories into the media willy-nilly because that's something that could reputation but may be democrats stepping away from it saying look we don't have facts to say whether or not there really is the

european allies will try to bring them along. taking serious action against iran, will it work? >> well here's the they think that sanctions are coming in two phases in august we have automotive industry and in november oil and financial messaging services thus far the president has been successful proven how powerful it can be and now he needs to and over heads, hearts and minds over europe and he is gunning for same thing but you know u.n. has divorced from reality. this year perhaps more so than ever. you're likely to see european and asian political leaders voice support for the deal when their own banks and businesses are siding with washington opposed to tehran. >> is it easier for president to get traction on north korea with rest of the world than it is to get traction on iran? >> oddly enough, in some ways, yes. you know threats of northeast asia are different than threat at the u.s. and partners face in

those region are it is that have been very hard hit with kind of old economy with their termed kind of typically old economy sort of industries such as coal. those industries have seen rehiring that began as early as last year. so there's been very visible -- improvement in those kinds of jobs in just -- >> why are races there so tight? >> well there's other issues that are big this is complex. one is cost of health care is big. democrats have been pushing on this lately and campaigning on it. the other is -- that there's a recent memo that was put out made public i believe by "new york times" rnc are, that showed a lack of enthusiasm among republican who is frankly felt that republicans were not going to lose congress. so if this is the case republicans may be happy with the way things are. but they're not insented to show up to polls to vote because they don't think that republicans have a shot of losing congress it is an interesting nuance.

>> so interesting let me add add layer for you if you look at the approval rating below 50%. how do you juxtapose that with the strong economy? >> well -- so the president's approval rating has been an interesting item so of overall yes. it is below 50%. but among republicans it is rei markably high. i've seen numbers that i seldom see with any president so the the question here is is that able to translate again into galvanizing to show up to polls to vote and being able to convert a significant number of so-called independent voters to vote republican. so the approval numbers don't necessarily translate into overall disapproval or not wanting to vote but may translate into lack of enthusiasm for showing up to polls and that could be a problem. >> that could be a problem indeed and it is not just west virginia and gn and parts in the
