east one of the most important. the consequences are quite bad. saudi arabia is important enough in terms of strategic significance that we do probably need to give an out to them but it is a very bad situation because there was a horrific crime committed in the consulate in istanbul. >> we still need to learn facts about what went down either way west is up in arms about this. how do we react to saudi arabia and they're handling of well not alienating them or pushing to form alliance with someone like russia? >> that's exactly right we don't want them to push alliance with russia. that's exactly right but we have to do a balance here. if we let them off a the hook that sends a terrible message to the rest of the world including russia that is waging war against western institutions like the media committing assassination. but another hand we don't want to just throw away the lion at

the spleen even though this was a horrific crime so we need a balance. however, we need to put the saudi government on notice that if this ever happens again, unfortunately that would be end of our alliance because that was horrific this is a murder of a washington post columnist who is actually an american resident. >> out of saudi consulate in turkey and now we have pastor released by turkey how does that change dynamic of the relations we're seeing in the middle east? >> well, you know, erdwa a n is not a reliable ally either and that's exactly what makes situation even more complicated. turkey and saudi arabia for many decades were very, very reliable allies turkey is a member of nato, and erdwa a to a certain extent islamist and saudis more reliable allies so it is coif a

here with a chilly tuesday forecast. good morning janice. >> yes we get the wheelchair maps out meaning what it feels like with the winds and all of that cold air is pushing southward as far south as parts of west texas where it feels like 38 in dallas. 25 is what it feel like in kansas city feels like 22 in denver. single digit windchills yesterday so freeze advisories for parts of the midwest south of the great lakes area in towards the central plains. here's our temperature change you can see where that cold front is now moving over the mississippi river valley and tennessee, ohio valley, and eventually pushing eastward we're bumping up those temperatures a little bit across northern plains. also i want to point out that tail end of this cold front is bringing flooding rainfall over texas to several inches of rain over central texas west texas, also moving into parts of louisiana. so keep that in mind there's a future radar. we with also could see some more snow, some higher elevation snow across the southwest.

sustain the u.s. saudi relationship here at -- in the united states. the port for the saudi it is has absolutely collapsed in congress. he's got a couple of people in the white house that are trying to keep this relationship alive, and i think that the saudis have got to realize they're really treading on thin ice here. >> sounds like they may be are and they have their critics out there as president. i want to listen to what senator marco rubio had so say about faragely disgusting, you know, details we're getting about what potentially happen to him and how we should respond. listen to mr. rubio. >> the fact he was lured into a diplomatic facility murdered and his body chopped up that they sent a group of people to carry this out. that would be an outrage atrocity, and that would be a swift response. >> swift swouns from congress but let's all remember here folks that saudi and we have

that's his words iran. and these sanctions was to your point go into effect and take one or two barrels off the market. >> well with he has to, obviously, keep the saudis on side for supporting his maximum pressure against iran. keeping calm in the oil markets so americans aren't suddenly facing a dramatic spike in the price of gasoline at the pump. and yet at the same time, being very tough with the saudis saying this is unacceptable behavior. i think the first thing you've got to do is -- what a lot of american businessmen have done by pulling out of that investment conference in riha drgs. don't know if munn chin will travel there. pompeo is there and see if we get some news this morning. john thank you very much. we appreciate it. switching gears now netflix is so-called bang stocks that reports after the bell today. if they disappoint again, can

that lead the entire tech sector lower? we bring in lew, founder chief analyst of the disruptive tech rrnlg. lew, good morning. >> good morning. >> what are your expectations for netflix because i know after their second quarter they got killed and stock is still rying to recover. [laughter] >> big swing and miss last quarter, and there's absolutely no room for another one here. i mean, i think we talked about it reid hastings had no credible read aring for miss last quarter so they have to beat expectations i think the good news is because it is such a focus on netflix to really set the tone, for the tech sector good news is that data point of them having a good report i say that because they original content drive subscriber greet and in q3, 65 hours up from 52 hours in q2 and over 51 app downloads in u.s. brazil and india so key markets for them international still is going to be the engine that drives netflix's growth and so -- it all signs point it a positive report.

and everyone is looking for that. for sure. >> stocking up this morning in premarket but it was down and big yesterday and we have three brokerages and they cut their price targets yesterday on netflix stock. where do you see the stock? >> look, i didn't i'm not a buyer of the stock here. i think it's price to perfection so i said this last time at 10.5 times sales versus two time sales there's a lot of downside risk here if they miss expectations begin. but again i think they're going to keep -- keep the market in a good mood about tech because they're beginning to report strong growth. but if i'm looking to buy big tech names netflix is not at the top of my list. number to watch is subscriber growth 5.2 million added in the third quarter we'll see and watch this one sharply. i want to switch gears with you lew because cheryl was talking and our top story today is, what happened with this saudi journalist khashoggi, and there

is a -- this story interts with silicon valley in a big way. japanese company gets a bulk from one fund that invest in über being one of them. if you have silicon valley basically saying look, we don't want to take this money. what are ramifications for big tech and small tech? >> look i think plenty of capital out there. i think important thing is there's a swift response we're getting one from the president but we need it from tech sector that people renounce their ties until saudi arabia complies with providing answers and if they don't, there's ramify ramifications for them the bull market has climbed walls of worry i don't think this is one that ultimately bring it is down. but i say that because we are responding so swiftly to it and not just on political front but also on corporate front with these tech companies. >> but see it is fears of regulation and privacy, and now

tie. to missouri attorney general josh holly is in a dead heat with claire mccaskill for a closer look let's bring in kristin tate and director robyn biro let's start with what's going on down in florida. kristin, even though govan scott is being getting a lot of kudos for how he handled hurricane michael, the ecological disaster in florida a lot of local pressure kristin on governor scott with that red and that green slime that is hitting a lot of coastlines around the state on both sides and killing wildlife. believe it or not that seems to be hurting nelson. what do you say or scott, excuse me. >> yeah, florida is a real tossup with raise razor thin margins but polls have showed democrat bill nelson with a slight lead but democrats should not be too comfortable nelson faces two primarily challenges. first is funding. rick scott is heavily funded.

the second is that nelson has been portrayed as a sort of out of touch career politician he's 76 years old he's been in the senate for 18 years. as there's a kind of thirst for outsiders right now, these factors could really hurt the democrats in florida. rick scott has been a fair governor. he's been highly regarded in most respects but he's typically not regarded as being particularly inspire or passionate another big factor here, i think, is the migration patterns from puerto ricans to florida. 135 puerto ricans have moved to state since hurricane march why and noncuban hispanics in florida vote democrat. >> i want to that to robyn because rick scot outspent nelson 4-1 and i to show you ths ad he's run to coastline on florida he's finally maybe finding something that's going to help him out with this ad. listen to this, just the top of it. ♪
