i love you too, but i'm making point right now. lou: remember in 2016 he told everybody in the democratic party to vote for hillary clinton or he would take it as a personal insult. i think there will be more insults. ed: the last thing you want is somebody like him or hillary out there talking about themselves. he endorsed her. gave her her game plan and they got beat. the bottom line is 2% growth is not what the american public thought was sufficient and can't play claim to what trump has. trump has all his regulatory stuff, and that's when the economy started taking off. >> i think it began on november 6, 2016. we saw the results start pouring in, and president trump was elected. that's when it began. i'm talk with ed rollins.

carolina. he's address the media's role in creating a toxic political environment. president trump: we have seen the media use the events of this week to score political points againstr against me and the republican party. but when a bernie sanders supporter tried to murder congressional republicans and tried to murder a great man named steve scalise and others, we did not use that attempt at mass murder for political gain because that would have been wrong. lou: the president telling it exactly as it is. he's speak at bow jangles coliseum in support of brad bud and chris harris. there are the usual overcapacity crowds.

continues. the president today addressed a young black leadership summit at the white house where he talked about the harm done to the african-american community by illegal immigration. >> i am legal immigration has been especially harmful to african-american communities and hispanic american communities by depressing wages and replacing workers. all americans have the right to have their laws even forced and their borders protected. we don't have borders, we don't have a country. lou: our next guest on the becausen honduran border, sara carter. let's talk first of all. we understand another caravan has formed and is on the move. your thoughts about what you saw, who is organizing this, these caravans, and just how
1:32 am
dangerous is this for these migrants who apparently haven't been told the truth about what a wait there is at the southern border for they get that far and how dangerous this trek is. >> you are right. it's incredibly dangerous. the majority of migrants. the families way at the front of the pack. i was in guatemala and the honduran border this week when the second wave of migrants came across the border. the majority were actually men. i would say there was about 1,200 men, and a few hundred women and children they put in the front of the line. this was highly organized. they had the women and children at the front of the line for the photographers and whatever local news agencies were there. i didn't see a lot of international agencies though i
1:33 am
did see cnn spanish there. but they were there to tell the story of the women and children. when i walked to the back, it was about 1,300 men. it looked like columns of men. they had a honduran flag and they were coming through and saying we are heading straight for america. president trump is going to see us, they are going to let us in. we are heading there to get jobs and we won't stop until we get there. the guatemalan government tried to turn people back and they turned back 3,500 to 4,000 people warning them it was going to be so dangerous. but now it's grown to 14,000 people because people in mexico are joining in the caravan and the drug cartels are taking advantage of it as well. lou: drug cartels, traffickers,

smugglers. who are these people and why aren't the governments whether it's hon you are as or guatemala or mexico, why aren't they dealing with what is in the midst of these people. these poor people have no idea. >> that's true. remember there is a lot of people within those lines that are criminals, too. i ran into ms-13 gang members while i was down there doing interviews. and you don't know who you are talking top it could be a wonderful person looking for a job and a place to go, then a criminal element. there were a number of unaccompanied minors under the age of 12 that at guatemalan government took and put into their custody because they were with men that were not their fathers. that's incredibly scary. the people organizing this event. some of them were in honduras,
1:35 am
leftist government coordinating this. the guatemalan government is working closely with the up s. government. they say once they figure out who organized this event they can work with the u.s. to bring charges against them if any of the people have been harmed. but the major step is the president is 100% right on. we have he right to protect our border. this is a dangerous situation that we can't exacerbate, and that's why he's sending the troops down there. we have 800 coming to assist. lou: and the president also apparently considering a further executive order to order suspension of immigration and certainly refugee status for any immigrant crossing that border now or approaching that bored. sara carter, good to see you back on this side of those borders. thanks for being with us
