5:50 am
pre-existing condition should not be a reason for someone to not get insurance. that's how we built our plans. we work aggressively to get into all communities. people should be concerned and we should all strive to make sure that folks can get coverage when they need it regardless of their pre-existing conditions. what do you do for your some of this you can control. the political landscape obviously. we have 20 retail centers places where our members can come and engage us face-to-face. we also have lots of outreach and community-based organizations. if they're coming with florida blue. we will have coverage for them.
5:51 am
there had been some plans to look at the short term duration plans for people that would have it pre-existing. but in all cases. a member can go to one of the products and the affordable care act. and get their pre- existing condition covered. let me ask you about the other big issue obviously. as the cost of prescription drugs. we talked to some average folks and said is the concern for theirs. to get a canada for some of my meds. they are just out rages. your people with primary, secondary insurance and they are still struggling with two insurances to try to cover these medications.
5:52 am
this is interesting i think. when they look at who do they blame for rising costs. look at the bottom. insurance companies make too much money. obviously there is a disconnect here. there has always been an debate on who is on point. i think in the rising drug cost. it's very clear that it has been on the point of this. and a lot of what we are seeing now the new drug legislation is really geared towards a farmer. we support what were seen right now. were seen and the opportunity to take infusion drugs. they are extremely expensive. and so there is an international pricing index and we believe that we should have pricing that's in line with the rest of the world.
5:53 am
to make your present trumpet out there. he is attacking the drug companies. i think any president getting out there and speaking on this issue is very important. aligning with a bipartisan approach in congress. they spend more and advertising than they do on research. the very dollar that is spent on research comes from u.s. sources. therefore the real burden of a drug cost is right here in the states. we believe if we can get generics to the marketplace faster. we are doing it with the pre- check program. to make sure that they know they can advise patients. to get a lower cost generic drug. how concerned they are about healthcare.
