all right so if you go with the polls which, of course, we're a little off two years ago but let's say polling is right and that democrats take control of the house. has market already priced that in and if there is gridlock washington are with going to start looking elsewhere for investments besides u.s. stocks? >> that's certainly the consensus right now and i think you're right. market is largely priced at that end and i think that leaves two obvious outliers first of which is, of course, if the republicanses could hold on to both i think you might see some modest upside. the negative outliar would be if the democrats manage to flip both the house and senate. they're very specific indications what that would do to the markets and specific sector and industry. >> we've seen that and looked at a lot of nail biter races on this show but you have to tell us something else. not that history has been up ended with this president but if you look back at the markets, since 1946, in the years with midterm elections, going back

to -- to basically the market, the s&p 500 gained 18. 4% in nine months between sepght 30th before midterm into next year june 30th so that's a pretty good indicator if you believe history. do you believe history? >> it is one of the indicators that works right up until the time i bet i use it. [laughter] but look even if we with get a split situation here and that's the likely jut come markets will look elsewhere for guidance but if the democrats did manage to flip then it is amendment to roll back tax cuts both the corporate level in the individual mandates. and that has specific negative implications. >> listen to maxine water who is says that she's the first african-american wol to run hant financial services. listen. >> i will be the first african-american, the first woman to chair the powerful financial services committee. >> hey, lauren good morning. whanch do you expect to hear from disney and big media companies like dish and 21st century fox that are reporting this week. >> you know, i think we'll hear good things out of disney expected to come in around a dollar 31 per share. earnings expected to increase as well. so i think there's a lot of excitement, obviously, arranged 21st century fox merger but a lot of it is to me focused on streaming services so i think there's excitement to come out about disney espn plus possibly hulu services so i think it is a buy for disney right now in my opinion. >>more competition for netflix watching so-called fang stocks in last couple of months as they give up a lot of value that they that they gained. we got the jobs report a blowout jobs report or for the month of october. we got that on friday. it's a gift if you ask a lot of people for republicans as americans head to polls. tomorrow, but we did see that wages grew 3.1% year over year.

what does that mean for reserve that we got that basically best wage growth in a decade? >> yeah lauren it was refreshing to see this we haven't seen this once in the last administration so it was a big change. i think this is speaking to where is inflation. and i think this is what the fed is focused on right now 3% wage growth this is telling us that we're starting to see inflation in the market. but you know the question is is how long will that trend of inflation or wage growth continue and for me that's concerning but i think the fed is going to take this music to their ears to say hey this givings us another reason to raise rates so -- repair for that. >> do and say that this e week when they meet? >> not this week but i think we'll see it in december. but there's questions for us right as far as, you know, if you remember october third when powell came out and said that current fed policies extremely

accommodating that were far away from neutral that spoofed market i think a lot of volatility that we saw over last few weeks had to do with that so i'll be watching thursday but yeah -- i don't suspect that the feds are going to use any reason to pause on a rate rise. at the beginning of october knowing that october kind of freaks us out no matter what year it is because it is ongt. but that's a wild card or creator of this volatile city is trade on fridays we saw this amazing volatility because we have a deal on china. do we not have a deal on chienl? when do you think we resolve this issue? >> you know i think we're at a market right now where any news can be bad news. so the trade issue that we see while it may not impact us significantly economically. i think there are concerns for the markets. i'm hoping we'll get a resolution here soon. i don't think either government u.s. government or the chinese government want this to linger longer so yeah i think hopefully see a resolution by end of the year but if not i think that

economy, he's made that very clear. i mean jobs report on friday my gosh that blew up all over twitter 250 thousand new jobs surpassing what expectations were. so i think my is working for itself but he does want to get that wall built and this is something he won. >> he wants to fulfill another campaign promise that's what he's now promises to voters tomorrow what do you make of that strategy? >> i think it is one that is not going to be fruitful. i think he is alienating dependence that you spoke of earlier. and i think there's a reason why he's not talking about it. he said it is not a sexy conversation so you know he's said it himself. but you know, that there's a reason because there's a -- tax cuts that was given to us as his ballooning and there's going to be a tremendous burdens on taxpayers with that. >> raul let me say with you for a second do you think democrats take house, senate both how do you think things end when we get

[laughter] >> well i wish i had a crystal ball but i do think what we're going to do fairly well. and i say that because -- the numbers of people that have voted early or absentee 27 plus million people speaks very, very loudly that there's a need and want for change. and democrats are talking about those issues that are going to provide those changes for people that care about this issues -- flght not making a prediction are you making one yeast see? >> i think we will squeak by wih house and some of the biggest reasons have been this caravan coming towards united states people are are concerned about their security you're talking about 98% of the and talking about 10,000 children trafficked per year and over 58,000 prisoners and federal prisons that are illegals and this is something critical to the united states we're talking about our own security and what taxpayers have to pay for so these issues

fidelity. open an account today. well trump administration turning up pressure on iran. they have restored u.s. sanctions on the country but the united states is also graduating temporary xempleses allows eight countries with china, india, south korea, japan to keep importing iranian oil. jane is is analyst and joins us now, yain is that why we're seeing oil prices actually lower today? because of these exceptions? >> we're actually seeing october that was a really poor month for oil that all came off quite a lot from highs this view that was perhaps world growth about to slow and there wouldn't be as much demand as people had thought but certainly there is the view that without the exceptions for these countries or prices might spike up again. and that is something that should president trump dupght want to see.

>> well europe is also considering sanctions on iran. how would that affect things? this is interesting when it pl you had out of european companies did not so you have u.k., france, et cetera that is still in that deal but, of course -- private companies in europe that have a lot to lose from say we're now request iran, have pulled out of iran largely because of the fear that they would lose this with the u.s. if they did not so. so what we're looking at is iranian economy that public sector will seek government sector and which have been growing in recent years will certainly lose support from europe and that is the part of the iranian economy which is likely to suffer. >> that's maximum pressure which is what president wanted to see. i have to ask about midterm elections big moment for our country tomorrow when voters go to polls. are you going to be watching our
