think want the president from using accounts for the defense department or army corps of engoers if he declares a national emergency. bring in republican texas congressman, brian babin. great to see you, sir. >> great to see you, liz. liz: democrats attack is off base. president can use army corps of engineers money. that is what we're hearing he will do. >> he can probably get money from several different sources, if the democrats are so upset about this, they need to come to the table. they need to come to negotiate. the president has been trying to do for weeks and weeks. we got to keep this government open. and, if we're asking for $5.7 billion, out after trillion dollars plus budget, it is less than .1 of 1%. how can they tell us this is the money they can't find? this is national security. border security is national security. it is our utmost duty to try to protect the national security of the united states. and border security is just exactly what that is.

liz: here is the democrats pushback. they're saying president trump, you will need these bases to get reelected. you better think wisely about hurting projects in these states. what is reaction to that? >> again i think there are monies to be found and other places. the democrats, if you're so upset about this, come and negotiate. i don't, you know the president doesn't want to call an emergency situation like this, national emergency. i hope that we don't either. but, this is, i mean, you can see, i've been on the border. i wish the democrats would go down on the border see, what i have seen. i've been to texas southern border. i've been to southern arizona and san diego. i'm telling you it's a national crisis. it is certainly not a manufactured crisis as they keep saying. >> we have here in new york city, sir, suspected ms-13 gang member. accused of shooting and killing a rival gang member on

new york city subway platform in broad daylight. he is here illegally. salvadorian national on bail on attempted murder charge. what is your take on that, that this is quote a manufactured crisis? >> it is just one of many, many incidents, you know, thousands of americans have been harmed by criminal aliens. we had 237,000 criminal aliens that were, that were arrested in interior of the united states. democrats, please, get real here. the american people want border security. they want safety. they don't want sanctuary cities. and the democrats, all they seem to have to offer is abolishing i.c.e., sanctuary cities, mass amnesty. this is something that we absolutely have to do. it is a national crisis. it is not manufactured. the president is doing the right thing. i hope we can avoid having a national emergency declared by the president, but if that is all he got left to do. let's do it. liz: congressman brian babin, republican from texas.
